    One thing I have found to work well stabilizing the router when routing for hinges is to put another piece of wood in front or behind the work piece. This can also help with tear out.

    Nice cabinet, Jason~! I recently built a router table frame insert (Woodcraft magazine) that used those same inserts sold by Rockler. A great solution that definitely beats having shelves with different sized holes since the bit collection shifts between 1/4" & 1/2" shank sizes.

    Nice little box. Let me tell you why I like Bents Woodworking and it's a simple answer. You always answer your comments. The problem with having so many woodworking sites is picking out the ones that care for the people who watch them. There are so many people out there that get big heads and big sponsors that once it happens for them they don't bother to think about the people that got them there. It's a whole different world today with You Tube and all. I have subscribed to other channels and been totally ignored when I made a nice comment or asked a question. It's like these guys are saying to themselves. I don't have time to bother with these people. That is when I hit that UNSUBSCRIBE button. I don't doubt the fact they had to work hard to get those big sponsors and the money that can go with it sometimes and they deserve it but when someone writes a comment have the respect for them by giving them an answer or like you guys do. A Thank You

    • @bentswoodworking
      @bentswoodworking  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for the message. I will always try to answer ever comment for the reasons you listed. If you took the time to write that, I should take the time to respond. I won’t respond to people that write rude or meaningless comments, as I don’t have tome to get in a pissing contest. I am making these videos for all of you, with that, comes a responsibility to answer your questions, in my opinion. 👍

    Awesome build, Jason, as per your usual. I just wish my "scrap material" looked like yours. Mine more closely resembles firewood

    • @andrewbieger5004
      @andrewbieger5004 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Just a quick note: I have found when cutting polycarbonate on the TS, it is best to do a short cut (one inch plus) on one edge, then flip the piece end for end to complete the cut. That all but eliminates any possibility of those annoying chip outs or a chunk missing on the corner portion of the last section to clear the blade. I am sure you have experienced this, but the more blade teeth and slow feed makes a huge difference.
      Looking forward to a complete shop tour of your new digs when build out is complete.

    • @andrewbieger5004
      @andrewbieger5004 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I must be blind. Your cut of the Lexan was EXACTLY as I described. D'Oh! My teachers always accused me of not really paying attention in class, so what can you do.

    Minor correction: plexiglass is the common trade name for acrylic. Lexan is polycarbonate. Polycarbonate is harder and doesn’t yellow in UV.

      They are cut to fit. The piece that goes on the cabinet is whatever the opening in the back is. The piece I put on the wall is generally 2-3” shorter to allow a bit of lateral movement.
