    Amazing video Kevin! Picking between two very good schools can be tough, and I appreciate your insight into how you made the decision.

    I was an old Japanese. I learned at CMU 30 yeras ago. Then CMU was no.1 of AI Tech and for 17 years No1 university of Computer Science in the world. And MBA short course was No.1 popular in USA.
    I respect CMU. Now, I am developping AI systems and Brain Tech.

    It looks like you are going to graduate this May right? how's life at CMU last 4 years?

      You have to keep in mind that certain schools are better at certain things. So it depends on what subject you want to study.

      @@rotneder2814not really. CMU has a better history with CS which has attracted better faculty. Cambridge has the name, but in terms of the actual program CMU has Cambridge beat. And there is an even bigger difference in grad school, where CMU is almost definitely the best place for a CS PHD.

    how do you decide to do a computer science degree without any coding experience in highschool? that is just weird. did't you at least take grade 11 and 12 computer science to see if you like it?

    • @lintechofficial
      @lintechofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I knew pretty much as much programming as my school offered, which meant that I kinda knew HTML, CSS, for loops, and if statements. I thought it was cool, but I didn't do much studying outside of school because I was completely oblivious to how much CS top high school students actually knew, so I always assumed most people learned CS in college. However, I'm sure the majority of CS majors had even less experience than me since more and more people today choose CS just for the money.

      @@lintechofficial Thanks. I'm considering CM or UCLA. seems like you had good experience at CM. I'm from Toronto so cost is going to be approx. the same for UCLA and CM. Any advice?

    • @lintechofficial
      @lintechofficial  ปีที่แล้ว +5

      @@chemistryphysics716 Since you're Canadian I'd probably choose Waterloo over both of them, since you'll end up with the same opportunities at a much lower cost. Between CMU and UCLA, I'd definitely say better academic challenges and career outcomes exist for CMU CS grads, but of course my POV is pretty biased.

      I think he lacks math. My child is great in math like he took Calculus in 9th grade. He finished Cal I, II, III, differential equations and linear algebra by the time he finished 1st semester of 11th grade.
      He learned to code in 6th grade. It is the really the math that makes him super good in coding like python, Java, C++. It is easy for my child in coding. He loves to learn. Currently he is in 11th grade. He is taking CS 479 at local university. He is getting A+!!!

Could you ask for his study method and how we was able to grasp these concepts so quickly, and what resourced helped him succeed? I’m taking calc 1 and algebra for honours mathematics next semester.
