My poor budgie just lost his little brother two days ago. I think somewhere he is still waiting for him to come back, grieving together has helped him understand a bit better. The cage almost seems to big for him alone now, I really want to buy him a new companion because it breaks my heart watching him sit quietly by his brothers favorite toys at night and rubbing on the spots where he used to sit, but I know I need to give him enough time to cope as well. I play soothing music to calm him down, he helps me get through this just as much as I him. They're such socially- and emotionally intelligent creatures, most people really tend to underestimate this. Rest in peace little Bowie, your time with me was way too short but I am grateful for the things you taught me. You were innocence incarnate, and my sweetest companion in a world that got increasingly isolated.

Your budgies chirping remind me so much of my male budgies.. He died today and i miss him so much...I cant get over it.. He was very special to me and i promised to never forget him. He died so young, only at over 6 months... I miss seeing him sleeping in his cage 😭
I’m so sorry for your lost, I lost my budgie too his name was Skipper he past away last year. He was very much playful, silly overall a really friendly bird around people tho he didn’t like being around other budgies or other parrots. I think it’s because he was use to just being me and him for a long time with no other bird around maybe he liked getting all the attention or maybe he just didn’t want to share anything of his toys and food with another budgie maybe but overall he was a good bird so sad to see him go.
