I love doing my nails in gel! Because I never gave to worry about mix ratio, just diff size beads of product. & when working on long nails to help put that apex where it needs to be I'll have my client or myself turn the hand upside down so that gravity puts that apex where I need it to be for structure!
The absolute best teacher!! I’m currently learning how to do the apex on my nails; this was very clear and a lot of extra information. Like how to avoid those nasty heat spikes! Thank you!
I'm really enjoying seeing more from you guys, but especially the fact we're seeing more of Tracey. I love her teaching style as well as her dynamic with the chaps. #TRACEYRULES
This was perfect. I did my nails. Finished with top coat. Looked from the side and it was flat. Do I have to take it off to build an better apex? Or can I add after the fact?
I enjoyed this video ! I've been doing gels for years and there is always something new to learn - whether with a product or with applications. Tracey your explanation is fantastic - i normally explain the process and application to my clients while doing their services . They enjoy and appreciate the knowledge. Now i feel like them 🤗🤗😂
Excellent all my ladies do acylics but I want to try the held and Tracy broke it down so simple I am going to start encouraging some of them to move outside the box and try.👍😁
The tip on freezing outside the lamp to avoid heat spikes is a game changer. I have a lot of clients (including myself) that will quickly pull their hand out of the light due to heat spike! So I usually have to apply 3 thin layers of gel to avoid all that and this kills my time. Thank u Tracey!!! 💕
I’ve learned so much from Tracey! She is the perfect teacher, to the point and she explaines it so good that you get it in just one time. I would like to know which brush she’s using here?
Thank you sooooooooo much for this video , I learned a lot. As a licensed manicurist I love builder gel better than acrylic bc of how natural the nails look.
OMG, I love you Tracey, that is the first explanation about structure that made sense. I understand what I need to do now. Thank you thank you thank you #TRACEYRULES #NAILSCHOOLROCKS
Stormy -The Cat Lady yes you can use an efile or nippers to take them off. Unless the customer wanted the same rhinestone design then I suppose you could do a backfill and put on more rhinestones. But generally you remove them first yes
I recently tired this method for my gel nails and i definitely came out much better than before. I always had a thick layer at the edge of my nail before. I still gotta look for more products better nail drill bits. But thank you #youngnails for this video it help alot
I'm so glad you mentioned about the sensitivity because i have diabetics and their nail beds are so extremely sensitive... it took me a while to figure it out but i eventually did. There's nothing worse than a gel burn :/ well there is , but yea know lol
would love a video on how to build a nail with builder in a bottle. It's so thin it's hard for me as someone who is new to doing nails to get it down it ends up drooping to the sides of the nail before i can cure :/
Hello! My problem is my clients get Apex bubbles after a few weeks and I always have to buzz them out 😧 like lifted bubbles but in the middle of the nail! It's not always but it does happen a lot and I have no idea why! They're never broken, they just lift underneath and I don't know why.. It's not the prep or anything because they're always fine for a few weeks! I need some advice ☹️
Hello, those kinds of things can happen for a couple of different reasons. It can happen when the clients nails are too long for their nail bed and the weight is displaced causing them to lift from the middle out. The other thing that can cause this to happen is if the client jams that nail, that too can cause the nail to lift in the middle.
Hi, im new to this, is your brush wet? If so with what? Water? Acetone? Regular remover? Would that impact the integrity of the product? Thanks in advance, anyone! :)
Your acrylic brushes should be cleaned with just monomer. If you get a stubborn clog you can let it rest in your monomer to break it up then wipe your brush clean with table towels. Other chemicals can damage the brush hairs.
Ok but I’m curious how you work with a naturally high arched nail and add a proper apex without making the already arched nail look super thick but maintain strength and she likes long stilettos to boot
Brenn Honeycutt Lower your speed and frequently move positions. Never stay in one spot too long. That's what's causing the burning. If you're using the correct bit you don't have to run a high speed.
Great question. Just like with a hand file a light touch and never holding it in one spot is important. The correct bit for what you are doing is also vital.
When you apply any artificial product (acrylic, gel, gel polish, or traditional polish) you do need to leave a slight space between the product and the cuticle for it to adhere properly to the nail and not get lifting. When you see nails done on video, it looks farther away than it really is because of the camera magnification.
First time watching but am impressed with your explanation of the location of the Apex. This is why I prefer doing my own nails. Went to the nail salon last week and mentioned about making my apex area strong to prevent breakage and the Asian tech didn’t even know anything about the Apex! She said to me what’s that? I’m learning a lot from the videos on YT thx so so much. I’m subbing👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
She explains things really good but I can see the cuticles... It was like they were grown out for a week... Maybe she wanted to focus on how to build the Apex but the cuticle application wasn't good. Especially at the last nail.

The tip for flash curing outside the lamp to avoid heat spikes is great. Tfs!
I love the way Tracey educates. She's in depth but never strays from the point. She "nails" it every time!💕

Thank you much for sharing this! I’ll come back to give you my feedback on the results ❤❤🎉🎉
Can you show us how you do a refill on a full bling nail??? do you remove all the rhinestones first?
Stormy -The Cat Lady yes you can use an efile or nippers to take them off. Unless the customer wanted the same rhinestone design then I suppose you could do a backfill and put on more rhinestones. But generally you remove them first yes

The black and pink you're wearing is interesting. 😉
So helpful...thank you
urgently need to know pl. Do i need to create apex when doing gel overlay on natural nails? Thanks
The longer the nail the more product is required at the apex

What's the best way to prevent rings of fire when drilling I haven't used a drill before and am going to learn soon

It's our concealer pink synergy gel (hard gel)
What type of gel is she using and brush she using with the brush I'm in beauty school?😀
It's our synergy gel (hard gel) line and she is using our gel sculptor brush.
How come you don’t go all the way to the cuticle? It looks like they are about 2 weeks after a new set and ready for a fill.

What gel do you use builder or hard gel guys.... ?
Also where did you get that white cabinet with the drawers in the background?
It is the Alex from Ikea.
Tracey Reierson thank you!

What does "active length" nail mean?
Not long, just past the finger tip usually
The intro always makes me laugh.

How do I avoid lumpyness
Don't stress so much on application, you can smooth it out when filing
What does active length mean
shorter length, not long nails.
Whoever gives you a thumbs down is a complete weirdo😆 loves YN I do💕

I wish you wouldnt shout in the beginning of the video. Headphones 😭
lol apologies! We are just so excited!
Every video tells not to apply it like nail polish😵 ( she does ot n the end of the nail) your working with it like acryik not gel....
This is hard gel.
Tracy is great but the presenter needs to cool down.... it’s not a motor gang show
lol
This was really helpful, thanks!!
Happy you enjoyed it.
