I made the recipe here in good old Oregon. I substituted almond flour but used the flour that uses the whole almond, with skins. I made the caramelized white chocolate which is amazing. Baked at 350 F for about 45 minutes. It was exactly as promised, an amazing fudgy richness that is second to none, lovely caramel white chocolate along with buttery macadamias. Excellent. Loved it.
You may have mentioned this before; does the fan assist make it bake “better” or just faster? Is it okay to bake without it? Those ovens are available but not customary in the US. I adore your recipes! Gluten free is important in baking for my Dad who is 94 who after getting into his 80s developed coeliac disease. Thanks for the that! He’s a chocoholic!
Hey Krissy, you can totally bake without a fan oven - the fan just circulates the heat more evenly around the oven, which means your cakes/brownies etc should bake more evenly - in some ovens that don't use a fan you may need to turn the tray half way to stop it from browning too much on one side.
@@CupcakeJemma You need to adjust the temperature as well. Usually you need to go up, 20-25 degrees. 170c in a fan oven is 190c in a conventional oven or 375f.

The temperature setting can only be set in 10s, so I can't set it to 165C, only 160C or 170C. So in my case, to what temperature can I set it for this or any other recipes that call for 165 or 185? Because of this issue of mine, I've been avoiding recipes with temperatures like this recipe.

in australia we have a chocolate brand that came out with a caramelised white chocolate block called caramilk! makes it one step easier to make this 😋

170 is probably ok! just 5c difference. the most important is to do the skewer test and see how much it is cooked
