@@ryanbaumy9616 I actually never got around to installing it. We got a Tesla so the GX doesn’t get driven as much. Let me know if you’re interested in buying it
at 25:20 is my problem, got the RCA's hooked and my camera has 2 wires coming from that RCA, I have tried both, ive tried one of each into the BACK wire, but camera is not working.
I have the same system from Phoenix. Any idea if you can change the image of the car in the 360 to a pickup truck? I have a tundra and it bothers me lol
Question: did you have to take off license plate trim piece in order to get to chrome (yours is plasti dipped} trim piece? My question is can you get to chrome piece without removing license plate trim?
Did you ever the cameras in the mirrors? Also, does the front/side cameras activate automatically upon using the turn signal? I have the same radio in my GX... it seems like it would only activate when put in reverse??
I never ended up putting the cameras in the mirrors since I was hesitant to cut holes in the mirror caps. Eventually I will get some spare caps to install the cameras in that way I can always swap out my original ones without the holes if I want to. The module connected to the cameras allows the front camera to turn on when the car is in drive, the rear camera when the car is in reverse, and the left/right cameras along with the front and back forming a 360 view around the car when turn signals are activated.
Have you had an issue where the backup camera works for first time you put it in reverse, but never again? I would disconnect the ground, reconnect it, and the camera would trigger one more time, but then doesn't trigger after that, and so on.
I have left the front camera in the front bumper grill since adding it to the top grill gave the camera a blind spot. I haven't gotten around to mounting the side cameras due to not wanting to drill into my mirror caps. I have a couple ideas where I can place the cameras, I just haven't mocked them up yet
Nice Vid. I have a 2005 prado which is essentially the same as the yours and installed the T screen. I was just wondering is that a stock firmware or did you upgrade it? Thanks
Im buying gx470 super soon. And im studying your every move.Question though. Are there options for longer running board? My wife is disabled in one leg and researching how to adjust to that....Otherwise your mod is the style that suits our needs.
Welcome to the Gx community! To answer your question about the running boards I don't believe there is a way to extend them since they are bolted to the frame. Coastal Offroad does sell a pair of sliders that do stick out a little bit further than the Metaltech4x4 ones. Unfortunately all the sliders I have seen so far that are sold are close to the frame for better clearance. If that is a problem you could always get some custom made which I have seen people do on some forums
Can’t wait to get mine!!
Love these reviews, I plan to get a 470 to work on and mod soon
Awesome, they are definitely great cars with endless modding opportunities!
Thank you for taking the time and posting this video! I’ll attempt to do the 360 install including the side mirrors so maybe we can exchange notes.
Sounds like a plan. I will try to do the same soon.
@@nkautos i won’t be able to install in for another couple of months but will definitely update
@@sephystar update?

Great video
Thank you, I appreciate the comment!
🤙🤙🤙 Thanks for the video
No problem. If you have any questions feel free to ask!
Question....did I see a bypass (work around) from Hewitt for your Secondary Air System? If so, did it keep your CE light from coming back on?
Yes the bypass is a life saver and hasn't brought up the CE
I have the same system from Phoenix. Any idea if you can change the image of the car in the 360 to a pickup truck? I have a tundra and it bothers me lol
Yes you are able to download a picture from online and change it in the system settings
Question: did you have to take off license plate trim piece in order to get to chrome (yours is plasti dipped} trim piece? My question is can you get to chrome piece without removing license plate trim?
The chrome piece pops off with some clips. The hard part is getting to the camera bolts which requires removing the backplate of the license plate.

It might have to do with the trigger wire from the back of the unit which connects to the module. Make sure its connected to the one marked back.
I want to add this to my Hyundai Santa Fe Hybrid SEL. Hopefully that will be possible soon !
Always a possibility just need to find the right head unit that allows external video input
How did you end up actually mounting the camera? Do you have any pics? Did you use the OEM housing and screw it into that?

I had the stock one for a while, and finally decided to get a custom firmware on it. I will make a video on the firmware soon!

@@nkautos Ill research that.Appreciate the time to reply.Salute my guy!
Had ta switch it up.Ended up with 2013 GS350! THANKS!
Do you have the actual test using front and rear camera installed? Doing forward and reverse?
I will make a video in the future showing the camera again as well as a firmware I have installed on the unit.
What year badge is that on your trunk door??
They are the OEM badges with some Plasti Dip painted over
Did you tint your backup lights?
I did, I used some taillight tint I had laying around and I really like the way it turned out.
@@nkautos looks good, what percentage tint did you use?
@@noelatilano2557 it’s 35%
Input levels bro. New mic perhaps needed. Next time do a test 123 video before doing final video
I was recording with a GoPro for most of my videos but I have picked up a new DSLR for better video and audio quality to come!
