OK, I made some errors in my voice over: The kit wasn't tooled in 2023, just this boxing came out in 2023. Additionally I miss identified the second set of markings as New Zealand, when in fact that are Australian.
The marking option that is not the USAAF is not the Royal New Zealand Air Force, but the Royal Australian Air Force, the RNZAF never operated the A-20, but the Australians did. The RNZAF Operated Lockheed Hudsons and Venturas, TBF Avengers and SBD Dauntless as attack airplanes
"Additionally I miss identified the second set of markings as New Zealand, when in fact that are Australian." ... you're in for a spanking for that one mate 🤣
just picked this up on Megahobby I do not care for Special hobby but I took a chance since its new tooling I hope I don't regret it as kits in past have had serious fit and finish issues
Yeah, totally possible, just have to thin them properly but theres no reason you can't do it. The only thing you'd need to consider is ventilation. You don't want to be breathing enamel vapors/fumes, so you'd need a good extraction system or respirator.

Built that too. Gunship with a solid nose. Not a bad kit for a short run technology. Surface detail is decent, but overall fit is kinda meh sometimes. Decided to scratch build the bomb bay - no idea how accurate it is because there are almost no photos from inside. When did you put together the wings? Before or after painting?

Thank you for the review of models that youve seen and chose it something we can look into ourselves and build with confidence
No problem! Thanks for watching!

Thank you for the correction, I guess I didn't read the fine print!
That looks like a nice weekend kit and a very interesting subject. Thanks for the review.
Thanks for watching!
cant wait you build this one !
Yeah, looking forward to this, A-20 is one of my favorites!

Yes, I fully expect to get roasted!

I've found that their newer stuff usually fits pretty good.
It wasn't tooled in 2023, but in 2007, as MPM Production
Thanks for the correction, I guess I didn't look at scalemates long enough!
the lack of bomb bay articulation is especially curious given the awesome cover art of the 312th in New Guinea
Yeah, it is quite unfortunate.
What do you think of using enamels in an airbrush?

@@HammerheadModelMaking what sort of respirators do you recommend?

Yes,this is 2007 MPM release,I have build this model under Revell release and as I remember it has bad fit,lot of sanding, problems with landing gear.
Thanks for the info, good to know!
Yeah I built that kit couple years ago, not a great experience from what I remember. Bad fit and a lot of sanding.
Good to know!

Hmmmm. One observation: it needs masks😂😂😂
observant as usual Kevin! I'll send you the clear parts!
