I haven't laughed this hard in so long. Genius VS Antichrist 1 had me leaving the room because I could not get air into my lungs. The fact that Wayne clearly had no idea how to react killed me, I love that the game just kept delivering too, just pure insanity the entire way through. Edit: watching this through again and I cannot believe what this game did to the crew. One of them was legit weeping with laughter. What an incredible experience.
On a side note, Death Animal Parade genuinely looked great tbh. The translation was janky but you could very much tell theres a silly yet dark sense of humour going on with that game.

None of the buttons do what they say, and the buttons you can press do something beyond comprehension. But after all of that, after thinking that you've seen everything and there's no way for this to get any weirder, the game does the ONLY thing possible that could have made it weirder: throw you into a room with swastikas and tits. What a timeless creation.

Coming back to this video just for the Genius VS Antichrist segment and it still baffles me how someone in the world could create such art in the form of a video game. It is not even really a game as much as it is an experience. I cannot even remember the last time i felt like i was witnessing something otherworldy as much as the first time i saw Wayne playing through that entire game, not to mention how much it at times made my jaw drop and made me laugh uncontrollably. Also whilst rewatching it this time i started thinking of each level in the game as its own circle of Hell, the first part with the cubes acting as an entrance to the entire thing (circle 0). That would at least give a bit of explanation to all the insane stuff that happens in the levels.

watching the genius vs antichrist segment live was scary it literally fucking took control of my soul. i immediately stopped what i was doing to focus on watching it as soon as the game started. i spent the first half hour laughing my ass off and then the next hour and a half slack jawed staring at the screen unable to move until the stream ended. now im here watching it again

GENIUS VS ANTICHRIST 1 legit felt like a religious experience but not in a way I think the creator intended. Watching this VOD made me feel a similar way when I finish a really good movie or book. I was actually left speechless by a great work of art. This game belongs in the Library of Congress and I'm not even kidding.......

I haven't laughed this hard in so long. Genius VS Antichrist 1 had me leaving the room because I could not get air into my lungs. The fact that Wayne clearly had no idea how to react killed me, I love that the game just kept delivering too, just pure insanity the entire way through.
Edit: watching this through again and I cannot believe what this game did to the crew. One of them was legit weeping with laughter. What an incredible experience.
On a side note, Death Animal Parade genuinely looked great tbh. The translation was janky but you could very much tell theres a silly yet dark sense of humour going on with that game.

@@whoisavie You're right actually, yeah, it's VERY Dadaist. Surrealism came to mind because of the Francis Bacon piece in the game but it doesn't have that element of uncanniness that a lot of surrealist work has.

None of the buttons do what they say, and the buttons you can press do something beyond comprehension. But after all of that, after thinking that you've seen everything and there's no way for this to get any weirder, the game does the ONLY thing possible that could have made it weirder: throw you into a room with swastikas and tits. What a timeless creation.

Coming back to this video just for the Genius VS Antichrist segment and it still baffles me how someone in the world could create such art in the form of a video game. It is not even really a game as much as it is an experience. I cannot even remember the last time i felt like i was witnessing something otherworldy as much as the first time i saw Wayne playing through that entire game, not to mention how much it at times made my jaw drop and made me laugh uncontrollably.
Also whilst rewatching it this time i started thinking of each level in the game as its own circle of Hell, the first part with the cubes acting as an entrance to the entire thing (circle 0). That would at least give a bit of explanation to all the insane stuff that happens in the levels.
