I really Love this hotel, it feels warm and friendly.
The rainy weather through the window adds beauty to the city and I noticed it doesn't stop people from being out and about.
Years ago before Portugal become part of the European Union, it was very inexpensive.
I knew an artist friend who lived off of his social security, spending 9 months of the year in a villa in Portugal and 3 months back home in the United States.
I would imagine Portugal isn't like that anymore, still it is very, very beautiful.

Since I retired in 2017 I have spent a lot of time travelling. For some reason or another I have never visited Portugal, although it is only 2 hours flight time from Scotland. It is definitely on my bucket list for 2020. Excellent review. I don't mind the rain as it reminds me of Scotland where it rains most of the time. Keep the reviews coming!!
Another excellent video by LTE. I stay at InterContinental Hotels often. Great Hotels if you want some luxury without breaking the bank.

As always, lovely video. You certainly do know how to use that camera to draw our focus to particular features. As for the foggy weather, it seemed to give the square a bit of an ethereal feel when coupled with the very nice room from which we were viewing it and the architecture of the buildings outside.
As an IHG member this video appealed to me, and now knowing they're affiliated with six senses helps with my travel plans😁 Thank you! Looking forward to the next video.

I stay there during my trip in Portugal in summer 2018, I always choose the intercontinental when there is the possibility and the time here was amazing, they give an upgrade for free in a 2 floor suite, staff is very frendly and the proximity to all majors attraction is unbelivable

Let's be honest, that's the weather you'll find in Porto in winter. It's rainy, moist, foggy, cold, wet and you rarely see the sun. It's depressing like hell. In the other end, summer is hot and sunny and marvelous 😎😀😍

Stayed there in April 2018 for 4 nights....Beautiful room facing the center of the Square ! Staff really top ! Loved the bar for a apero or late night drink ! The breakfast was served in the main restaurant then and had a much bigger and nicer buffet than the one in this video, must be the high season then ? Definitely the place to stay when in Porto !

Very nice hotel and I loved your suite! So cozy in that gray, rainy weather, which I kind of love. Portugal is definitely on my list of places I could feasibly visit (unlike North Island, although I may surprise myself (and you!) someday and actually go there). Eggs bene in Porto! (On my recent vay-cay in the California desert, my companion ordered eggs bene for breakfast and I started laughing--had to explain why :) Thank you, Dr. LTE!

Grate Video as always. Emotion about being Porto - Portugal. For sure this is the worse weather of the year. Even at winter it isn't every day like this. For me, for the views, better than the InterContinental at Porto is Yeatman - Gaia. If you are still in Portugal, please go there to have a drink.

Yesss something from Portugal(i'm gonna be biases)...in europe Portugal its an amazing country to vacations,the food is amazing, the night life is awesome(special in Lisbon), cheap(compared with another european countries), the views are really nostalgic because everything looks old and charming etc etc etc
hope you did the Douro river boat tour and some wine taste it's amazing.
The weather in Porto is not one of the best in Portugal in winter, probably during your visit the country was getting hit by a huge storm "Elsa"

The buildings are so stonkingly beautiful, I wouldn't mind the weather. Ocean fog is good for the skin and sinuses. I'd have to be swallowing painkiller all the time, but it would be worth it. The lobby would hold my attention for hours.
Whoops, the salmon was gone! Do go early to breakfast. Prices are really reasonable. I'll choose this hotel when I get to Porto. Why not? And, I hope it's raining. Beautiful! (I appreciate your quiet-tour approach).

My first Portuguese Hotel Tour.
It looks like in Europe the Intercontinental Hotels are better than in North America. I have been at the Intercontinental Hotel in Toronto and I was not impressed by anything in that hotel. It was outdated and similar with any other ordinary hotel, but more expensive. The only good thing was the proximity to the financial district and the shopping malls.
I think it's time you buy a nice 4K camera! More and more people are watching youtube in 4K :)
Problem is that so far, there's no small handheld camera with 4K option :-)

From the moment you started filming this place, I was in love. Then you said it's Neoclassical, which I love Neoclassical design. I didn't want to view it and judge anything or attach any judgement, like the human mind will always do, and why people then attach superiority or smugness to the place. But the design just makes sense to my brain.
The rain and fog just make the hotel room bath seem even more inviting. I’m from Northern California, so I’m very familiar with fog. It’s less annoying when I have time off, and I can just enjoy the coziness. It looks like you had a visit during the autumn period? I hope you were prepared for the cooler weather. 😉 Also, cooler weather would make sampling the various ports much more comfortable. Port always makes me warm. 😊

Anyone who only speaks and understands English, will he/she face difficulty in which country where English is not main language like Portugal, Brazil? Consider he/she will not live in luxouris hotel or resort who have their own person for translation. Kindly share your experience.
the floors of the lobby are just so beautiful, rooms are elegantly appointed, for me i would to stay in hotel that is in the city centre itself, gorgeous video..

Got the champagne and eggs benedict? couldn't see the cards on the heated food, hope you did not miss the the egg custards, Pastel de Naia. So GOOD!

Hope you went over to Gaia, which is where all the wineries are. I know alcohol is not your thing but Port wine is awesome. I had the tours which are just OK but fun and the wine tasting room with the shop is super awesome even though the airport duty free sells a lot to choose from just in case you forget to buy at the caves. Grahams dining room was pretty elegant and the Yeatman Hotel next to Taylors has a pool and luxury rooms. Look forward to seeing your review of the Yeatman. Next time go to Auchans supermarket, continental is good too.

A few things that I was thinking about,while I was watching your video,and nothing so serious but it was still in my mind though.
I was worried when you said that the interior was designed by a Russian architect, I thought it might be very much bling bling,but I was proven wrong,it was very very nice.
One thing that was so very very nice on this video was that there where more “life” and people in front of your camera this time,I have the greatest respect that you want to give people privacy,and not put a camera up there faces,but this was a little bit different,in a very very good way.
And finally,a little nitpicking thing,but the waiter did put his fingers in the glasses when hit put new glasses on the tray,not okay...
I apologise that I write to much,but I hope that it’s okay. Looking forward to your next video from Portugal. :) :)
