- Clarksville Elementary School music teacher Emmy Bodner recorded her students in different groupings throughout the year singing "We Are The World" to create the music video.

All that I was expressing is an overall appreciation for this newer version as opposed to the original version. It was creative and inspiring having the children sing. Is that a so much of a problem?
Also to your point yes, M.J and L.R were co writer’s of the song but Quincy was credited as a Producer.

I agree, they should put Music back into the school.
The kids are talented, and the teacher makes a humongous difference in developing that talent. I went to some presentations for parents at an elementary school up in the northern part of the State. The music teacher was responsible for almost all of the programs. It was painful, in part, because the teacher was obviously spread so thin (teaching singing and also instruments), but also because she seems to just not have what it takes to teach technique, inspire the students, and/or help them find confidence in themselves.
We have music in our school but we can’t sing we just learn about notes because of COVID we have to him which isn’t the same. Humming is kinda fun but singing just tells a whole story and it’s beautiful 🌟

I personally think a record deal should be in the making with some of these kids with the best vocals there is a future in their singing.
What a special Music teacher empowering these children. The arts are so important to the development of children and it takes special teachers to teach the arts in a way that keeps children motivated to go for the moon and beyond. This was just awesome. Thank you

i can say i was in tears when this video showed up on my facebook wall to view. I dont know who sent it, but my heart melted at each and every student who participated in the video and sang their hearts out perfectly.

They all did such a wonderful job! All of the soloists were amazing. The hook alone out does the original with the vocals by far! These kids killed it! I'm expecting to hear about an album release from the 1st two girls. I was hoping green dress had another part towards the end. She had a fire inside her!

These are the type of TEACHERS we need in our schools. I love her efforts, the choice of song, and the diversity of the entire group she assembled. I applaud her and keep pushing towards change and improvement in our country. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
These types of teachers are in every school I've been to in my 34 years as a teacher. There are amazing things going on in public schools all across this nation. You just don't hear about them very often.

You want teachers like this? Then you need to PAY them. You know what music teachers make in some schools? If they're LUCKY, it's $45K per year. For that, they have to show up at school, teach a half-dozen classes per day; they have to show up at school functions to show the kids they are supporting them; they have to prepare kids - often on their own time - for UIL competitions, and band contests, football game halftime shows, and the like. They have to meet with parents, and attend "meet the teacher" nights; they have to decorate their rooms, and often prepare a decoration for the main display case of the school once or twice a year. They have to worry about getting shot by some maniac, and teach their kids how to survive a shooter's attack. They have to put up with ENDLESS teachers meetings, in-service days, and paying for tons of stuff that the school district SHOULD supply out of their own pockets. If they have to be out sick, they are often required to pay for a substitute out of their own payhecks. AND they have to keep up their own musical skills, which means PRACTICE and more practice. They deal with choir robes or matching dresses and jackets for the older kids, and listen to parents complain how much it costs when they get the bill, and that's even if they find a way to get them made by volunteers. All of that while stepping into a classroom with a smile every day, because that's what you have to do if you teach and you expect the kids to learn. And I know all this because I'm the daughter of two teachers, and the friend of a dozen more who have stories that'll curl your hair. All this, for $45K IF you're lucky, and you can get a temporary job in the summer (because EVERYBODY wants to hire someone for only two weeks, right???) that pays more than minimum wage. Nope. Not me, thanks just the same; I had the rough edges of THAT kind of life demonstrated to me as a kid; there's no way I was going to put MY kids through that. I'm a software engineer, and I made more my first year on the job than my parents did after 30+ years of teaching.

Me as an adult, when the original came out, little teary eyed and 5 seconds of clapping. ME during this song: full crying , stood up and clapped almost the whole time. These kids are the future and that brings some hope. They did a great job. Congrats to everyone involved making this song and the video.

Not gonna lie, I clicked expecting not to like this but it was actually REALLY good. These kids are genuinely talented and whoever did the audio setup, mixing and mastering also did a phenomenal job as the production process is really what makes or breaks a performance like this. Very well done all around.

For them, we have to get out of this. Kids as young as five years old don’t deserve to have the weight of the world on their shoulders. Kids need to be loved. They need music. They need art. They need their teachers and friends, and they need their country to let them be kids for just a little longer.

Nice sentiment, but actually. Kids get softer and softer each generation because we want them to have it easier then we did. It wasn't that long ago, a 13 year old would be working the fields with his dad or doing the laundry with her mother. They were not "children" but "Little adults". They were much stronger and healthier then today where we need the NFL to remind kids to get out and play for at least an hour a day.
