It's a little strange to see that the iPhone is bigger than the Samsung, I mean, for a few years now all the Notes have always been bigger than the iPhones.
Could you retest the exports on both phones with the same output file? You exported the iPhone in MOV format and the s24 ultra on MP4 which is smaller in size.
I would prefer him to use their own editing apps to show whether Samsung or Apple has faster rendering. Never heard of the one he uses and I wonder why he picks that when he should choose the best for each OS.
It seems that Samsung is queueing up the landing page for apps quicker, but everytime you scroll the iphone is fully loaded where the S24U is not finished/loaded. Typed in a S24U.
You just hate Android. My s24u is lightning fast. Love it. It's so much nicer know I'm .00002 seconds faster loading a page for the insta. These tests are pointless.
Comparing the RAM of three iPhone vs Samsung doesn’t make a lot of sense, Android is JVM based so by design it requires A LOT more RAM than an iPhone. So the iPhone is perfectly fine with 8GB of RAM.
8gb is the bare minimum for AI and I have a feeling the longevity of 16pro wont be great once more features arrive to the ios the following years. The Pro versions should at least have 12 gb
It would be the bare minimum if you're considering actually large models, not small models designed specifically to be ran in mobile devices which is what is being reported by Apple. Calling it the "bare minimum" when you have 0 information about the models and how they run doesn't make a lot of sense, even the larger operations that will be mostly doing semantic indexing will probably run in the background or at night when the phone isn't being used. Apple is also known to be extremely efficient with their RAM and Swap usage, as seen in MacBooks. I highly doubt that RAM has been a problem for anyone using an iPhone since at least the iPhone X.
@@archerman1 Comparing the iPhone 6 with the current generation iPhones with the chips designed by Apple doesn't make sense at all, that was so long ago, iOS is a considerably less RAM-hungry OS than Android is, simply due to the fact that it doesn't run everything through a VM. iPhones since probably the X or even the 11 are notorious for having extreme longevity, and the issue that most generally causes slow downs is battery degradation, not a lack of RAM.
I have an iPhone 13 mini and am upgrading because noticing too many reloads too often. This has 4 gb and it’s just not enough Ram. Personally I am a tech guy so I notice the reloads and an average person would still be happy with a 13 but I notice the lack of Ram

Hey Android users, listen up. If you have an Android phone like the S23 or S24, don't act like it's the best thing ever, especially if it's an expensive model like the Google Pixel phones. Why? Because if it gets stolen, thieves can easily resell it and make a lot of money. On the other hand, if you have an iPhone, like the $2000 1TB model, if it's stolen, it can't be unlocked, and the parts are locked to the user's Apple ID. So, it's worth spending the extra money on an iPhone because at least if it's stolen, you can feel secure knowing that the thief won't be able to use it. But if your expensive Android phone gets stolen, the thief will make a profit and you'll be at a loss.
Interesting thing would be doing geekbench/antutu test on samsung power saving mode on/off (limiting cpu speed to 70%), and compare it later with s25 ultra with 8 gen 4
I would just like to mention that I think the InShot test is really unfair. The Samsung is exporting to MP4 while the iPhone is exporting to MOV. You can also see that the file on Samsung takes up 3 times as much space as the MOV on the iPhone, meaning that the iPhone is doing a lot more work in the background, presumably compressing it, that’s why Samsung took the lead by that much.
You bring up a valid point! The difference in file formats-MP4 for Samsung and MOV for iPhone-definitely plays a role in the test. MOV files tend to be less compressed and more optimized for Apple devices, which could explain why the iPhone appears to be doing more work in the background. Samsung exporting to MP4 might result in a larger file size, but it could also mean less compression and potentially quicker export times. So, the comparison isn't entirely apples to apples, and the difference in file handling makes a big impact on the results. Great observation!
Just me or does this video feel like it's only at 30fps? Even though it says 60fps? Also, I recommend waiting for OneUI 6.1.1 or 7.0 to do speed tests, animations get nice upgrades.
Smartphone screen dimensions are measured by the length of the diagonal when you extend the edges of the phone to form a rectangle. Since the iPhone has rounded corners, the rectangle formed by it has a lot of area that isn't part of the phone. It's why on all the product pages for these smartphones, they always write "Actual viewable area is less"
I can see the apple fanboy frustration but not necessarily true at all, If you watch the video, the MOV file has only 500 MB to render, but Samsung has to render 1.5 GB - three times the larger file, yet it still won. I know, it’s heartbreaking to see that your Instagram scrolling machine is not winning races anymore.
@@sholmes_ttyy That may be true, but a test like this you have to perform the same otherwise people will question it. It takes a few seconds to make sure they both render out the same. But as I said before, use their own apps and that avoids the optimisation question as there are many editing apps that render much faster than the app he uses, probably on both Android and iOS.
My only request for these kind of videos is please put the same wallpaper on both phones for a more accurate colour reproduction comparison. Thanks for your content.
Look at 6:57 the grey space the navigation bar leaves at the bottom of the screen. This is one example where it's obvious that Samsung just doesn't have eye for detail. There are plenty of apps where this is the case.
@@Jaysann22 by that time Apple might’ve released their folding iPhone which would be a MAJOR upgrade for you from iPhone 13 mini. Hopefully Apple invests in the folding design
@@IMDANIELAUSTINBut with folding phones, the screen is plastic. It feels sticky and soft, not like a glass screen. I tried a few Android folding phones and I didn’t like the look/texture or the divot down the middle. I doubt apple would release a phone with a plastic screen.

Both phones are beasts it’s all about preferences now, and my preference is for the iPhone and yours is clearly for Samsung let’s just leave it there. I’m tired of arguing about which is better. Both phones are great that’s what matters and we are the real winners.
Trust me samsung always sucks when operating heavy operations , forget about comparing it to iphone cuz iq performs better than samsung in performance 😂
They are both neck and neck. iOS 18 just came out and isn’t fully optimized. This being said I enjoy the S24 Ultras display. Apple needs to get rid of the Dynamic Island. I use the iPhone day to day for work. The S24 Ultra is better for watching content. With the release of RCS on IPhone it’s making lean towards using the Samsung as a daily use. Was always my pet peeve not to be able to share high quality content easily via text.
It’s interesting how close the two devices are getting! iOS 18 still has some optimization to go, so once that’s fully rolled out, things might shift a bit. I totally agree with you on the S24 Ultra’s display-it’s great for content. As for the Dynamic Island, I can see how it might feel a bit gimmicky, especially if you're used to a more straightforward design. With RCS finally making its way to the iPhone, that’s a huge win for messaging, and I can understand why you’d lean towards the S24 Ultra for daily use now. It’s nice to see the best of both worlds getting closer in terms of features!
S24 Ultra is my favorite device. The S24 has 2600 nits😎💪, while the iPhone 16 has 2000 nits. The S24 have AI and 12 GB of RAM, and dex , the S Pen, and a 200 MP camera also you can film in 8K, and bigger battery ❤
if you watch the video, their respective batteries dropped to 11% (90 to 79 for iOS) and 15% (64 to 49 for samsung), in short iPhone utilised 515 mAH and samsung utilised 750 mAH. Its not about the battery its about optimisation, 8k works only with the required 8k scenarios orelse its just your regular 4k. Brightness, yeah I'll give that to you, S pen is more of the better version of iPhone's new camera button because cmon how often will people use that for real.
Apple is overall better engineered product than samsung, hence they dont need to get into the spec game of how many GBs of RAM. If both are given same amount of RAM , apple will perform 50% better than samsung
@@bsuparno or maybe iPhones don't need all that RAM because they do next to nothing? You latest upgrade just gave you a pause function while recording a video as a feature in 2024 😂. Iphones should start multitasking first.
@opssonopsson8282 not really. ios 18 has lots of new feature. And forget those , even with 8 GB RAM you can play console level games in iphone which you can't do in galaxy s24 ultra even with 16 gb RAM that well.
Mr. Nick, what is your advice for opposing games like working on Excel and Zoom substitutions, using profile like gaming and surfing the internet? I would like to know what is your advice as an expert and which phone of these you recommend me.
It's currently 11:18am Eastern Time on Sept 21st and I noticed that even though the video says 1080p 60fps, it looks like the phones are only recorded at the standard 30 fps which doesn't show the smoothness of the operating systems. Maybe it's just that TH-cam didn't finish completely processing/rendering this video because I checked your iPhone 16 pro max unboxing upload and that's smooth in 1080p 60fps..you can tell. Hopefully it adjusts in a few.
To be honest in this case 60 fps won't show you the smoothness of a system a whole lot better than 30 fps. They are flagship phones and their frame rate doesn't really ever drop below 60. It's really mostly about how the animations are constructed that show the smoothness level.
@@Panmiszcz-lv4mk trust me.. If your phone flowed at 30 fps rather than 60 FPS or the 120 fps that the displays of those two phone run but TH-cam doesn't show, you'd notice. A lot of phone review channels don't upload their reviews in 60 FPS because it makes other parts of the video too smooth like their own movement or not necessary for photo reviews etc but it truly does make a difference to the eye when seeing animations, scrolling, fluidity or if comparing video recordings on the phone that were recorded in 60fps. It's so clear to see, I made the comment about it cause I always see the 60fps quality on this channel and it's really nice and noticed when it's not there.
What resolution is assigned to S24 ultra? Running apps and others in 2K (3120 x 1440) consumes more resources than the iPhone's resolution of 2868 x 1320. In this case you should assign it. or not?

One thing to note here is that when you install any apps on the Samsung device, the battery consumption is set to be optimized. So, if you would like to have as many apps open as you want, you may want to set the battery settings to unrestricted. That way, you can keep more apps open in the background without them reloading.
They basically swap titles for 6 months at a time, iPhone is the fastest in the world from September to February, then the Samsung from February to September
The disparity in the first boot of some of the games was probably due to shader compilation if I were to guess. You see the same thing in PC gaming vs console. On the iPhones, the shaders were probably precompiled and shipped with the app, similar to how it is done with game consoles. That's only really possible when you're targeting dedicated hardware, which is easy with the relatively small number of active iPhone models compared to Android. On Android, the shaders had to be compiled by the phone on first boot.

No the app test starts at 3:54. App test is not the only section of this content.
Thanks for mentioning that, I left them to whatever they defaulted to, I’m probably going to edit that out of the video!
Great observation!
its pretty fair...if I wanted to export something faster the samsung would be the better choice...we do not need the compression

When you render the video you set the iPhone to MOV while Samsung is MP4. MOV have more quality and much heavy file size compared to MP4.
True, but that would risk Samsung not winning!😆
I can see the apple fanboy frustration but not necessarily true at all, If you watch the video, the MOV file has only 500 MB to render, but Samsung has to render 1.5 GB - three times the larger file, yet it still won. I know, it’s heartbreaking to see that your Instagram scrolling machine is not winning races anymore.
@@sholmes_ttyy That may be true, but a test like this you have to perform the same otherwise people will question it. It takes a few seconds to make sure they both render out the same. butthurt people defending apple like they own a share 😂😂
Which model Samsung are you using? It look like the Wildlife is comparing it the iPhone 15 Pro and the Exynos equipped Samsung devices.
