A fantastic band. Dee and John's twin guitar sound was incredibly distinctive, as was Ferg's voice. Topped off with ace tunes, man, they were wonderful. Saw them many times around this period. Dancing in the Factory Club in Manchester on broken glass, to Mars Bars remains a gig highlight of my life.
My best mate when I was a kid was Jimmy White and he sadly fell through a roof that we all climbed on in Hackney I can't hear this without the memories flooding back from 50 years ago
Hi does anyone remember the Parker or snorkel jacket back in the old days on the school bus l remember undoing the strap on the back of the hood and fasting it on to the back of the head rest on the school bus to someone sitting in front of me haha .
I wish I'd thought of that! We'd all just got into gelling our hair so would take great pleasure in throwing our mate's hood over their head to flatten the spikes 😁
Trying to think if they was another band before this where the front man wore his outdoors coat? Obviously, plenty of examples after the Undertones that did, like Mondays, Oasis etc but that was driven by an entirely different culture. I'm wondering if Feargal/Undertones were the original examples of this?

Had this parka and picked raspberries and strawberries to the Undertones as s summer soundtrack, I was 12, superb stuff.

Saw them twice back in the day, excellent live band, really tight and bags of attitude.
This was dressing up back in 79,better look your best, you're going to be on the box
John O'neill was the mastermind of this band. So many great tunes came from that man. Brilliant performance.
proper ....no dressing up for the cameras..just turn up and play....
Imagine running around a stage under those lights in a fucking parka, he must have been sweating his conkers off.
Love this band so full of attitude brilliant 👍👍
I LOVE the Undertones, my dad has passed them down to me 🥁🎸🎤

Great stuff!!! ...I remember being so excited by this first glimpse of the Undertones playing live - MARVLISS!
This has to be one of the best OGWT moments ever
Derry city maulers, best band to come out of Ireland. Fergal had the perfect voice of the time. Chocolate and girls! Music is shit now :-(
Perfect. Everything.
Sublime voice he had.
LOVE The Undertones
Great quality music and video.
What a voice!
ITS TRUE, people really dressed this badly in Ireland back then.
Great footage!
Love this band
Marvellous.
FUCKING SUPERB.
Roger Chapman does punk - the Goat lives
He’ll not feel the benefit of that coat when he goes outside.
Captions are hilarious. It says Timmy Timmy genitalia.
TO THE DEVIL!
UNDERRATED
love
Does not get any better with the lads from NI
Proper music

Thanks for posting but could you please edit the headlines with proper capital letters, thank you. It would look more nice then.
