I’m Taking The Leap Into Digital Drawing With My Colorable Illustration Workflow.😯

- I bought an iPad Pro and the Procreate app well over a year ago for the express purpose of folding them into my studio life to help me streamline my illustration process-a huge investment in myself and my creative business.🤑
But, as a passionate lover of traditional art materials, I had to wrestle with the following philosophical questions before getting confident enough to put these tools into my art practice:
🔺Will the art I make with pixels be “real” art?
🔺Are the lines I draw with a stylus still my lines?
🔺Will the coloring experiences I make still have that Michelle-y, organic feel IF I’m working through multiple layers of technology to get to a finished product?
🔺Can I still refer to my coloring adventures as “hand drawn” if I haven’t used traditional materials for the entire process?
(I know-I think A LOT🙄)
After much deliberation and experimentation I’ve come to the conclusion that the answer to all of those questions is absolutely YES. I incorporated Procreate into the final stages of a recent colorable gift tag collection commission, and I’m really happy with the results!😊
And, if you’re one of the lovely folks that enjoys reading my video descriptions-What are your thoughts on creating art digitally? Have you given it a go? What was the experience like for you? If you do create digitally, do you prefer Procreate or Adobe Illustrator? Inquiring minds and all that! Leave your answers in the comments-I’d love to hear y’all’s thoughts on digital art!🤔

**A REMINDER: I’m always honest about the awesomeness (or lack thereof) of the art & coloring supplies I share about in my videos. I am not sponsored in any way and only take the time out of my studio schedule to create a new video for y’all because I’m personally super excited about whatever it is I’m sharing about. Additionally, any links I share to supplies found on Amazon or Blick Art Materials (my two go-to sites to shop all things art) are affiliate links. Should you decide to bring home an art tool I’m talking about and purchase it through the links found here, a few pennies of that purchase are distributed to me. It isn’t much, but it (slowly) adds up, and it’s a lovely way to support the work I do and the content that I create. It comes at no cost to you, which is awesome, too. Thanks, in advance, to anyone who supports my art, my videos, and my writing in this way; I really appreciate it!!!!🤓
That was so cool I watched it thrice! Now onto crayons and petroleum jelly 🤪
I’m so glad you enjoyed it!! Thanks for letting me know!!😍
Mesmerizing.
Right?! I love the Procreate time-lapsed feature!😍
