The work you put in is great and you don’t have to be a high end watch repair guy. Great strap too. Really appreciate your take on this Invicta transformation.
I think because it's trendy to hate on certain brands, I suspect mainly by people who don't actually have one or have had. Mainly because they're sheep 🐑😅
I have a 9204, and just wanted to ask, Is the advertised 200m wr accurate? Not sure what to believe as 10 amazon reviews on the watxh said it didnt even survive a swimming pool. Update: I went for a swim, not a dive and it held up fine. Doesn't guarantee 200 but definitely survives a swim. Those who's watch didn't survive either forgot to close the crown fully (only partially) or had a faulty unit
@@Musketeer2.6 I've been swimming with mine for almost 20 years in my pool and at the ocean. Those people either left the crown open or showered with it, which will always wet the inside of the watch
I love my invicta. Only wish theyd add the sapphire glass and the blue lume like steeldived. Havent dived but I have gone snorkeling with it multiple times and it held up perfectly
@@Musketeer2.6 People on amazon don't realize usually that the crown needs to be screwed in all the way. They take their watch underwater and it gets damaged because they forgot to screw in the crown. Watches are tested in a water/pressure chamber to measure their depth rating.
I’ve used this technique to take a fully high polished bracelet to a fully brushed look…I bought the fine and ultra fine scothbrite type pads on Amazon and the resulting brushed appearance on the bracelet was awesome
I have done this to several watches after watching an older video of yours. I practiced on a $15 Walmart special that was gun metal grey and removed the grey to give it a patina. Then felt comfortable enough to do it to a couple of other watches including a Pro Diver! Love the channel! Thanks
The Casio Duro divers take this so nicely. I like to gift them and hit the sides of pretty much every single one of em with 1000 grit paper. Leave the polished chamfers and they look like a million bucks.
My son gifted me the blue version of this watch. I have to say I really like it on the bracelet. Is it chingly (is that a word?)? Yes! But is it comfortable? Oh yeah.
I like the bracelet too, I think it’s nothing wrong with dizzly bracelets, even vintage Rolex are dizzly. A Seiko SKX jubilee are known rattling but thats why people love them. But I like to put on a nice rubber or tropic strap too.
I love my Invictas, I've got five. The oldest is 10 years old 1 is a quartz the rest are automatics all very accurate. I even got my grandson a couple he likes his too. They're great watches. Good show my buddy
I just did this to my Invicta pro diver and it looks great. I even did it on the oyster style bracelet (I always hated those polished center links) and it really feels like a new watch.
7:04 Have you tried/has anyone tried to shave down the invicta on the side? I was thinking a dremel tool with a light grit bit followed by a polishing bit. I love the polished finish but would like to incognito the case Side note is that I now have to convince my wife to let me get the 8932ob considering I just bought the 8932 yesterday😂
I removed the huge invicta on the case side with a dremel then sanded, the entire case and bezel are now sanded. I replaced the beat up bezel insert with a new one. Changed out the scratched up crystal with a new sapphire one and swapped out the dial with a custom dial. Put it on a nato strap and now transformed a worn out looking 17 year old watch into a cool looking new watch like no other.
Nice mod I agree its an upgrade. Jubilee band = cheesy. I just joined the Invicta fraternity. Green Pro Diver 40mm Automatic. $79 on Amazon. It has the Oyster style bracelet. Ill leave it be for now I didn't know they offered a larger 42mm. I DO have 2 Casio Duro dive watches, a black & a blue face one. (Battery, not auto) They're 42mm & on the blue face one I upgraded to the heavier duty fully brushed bracelet - huge upgrade in terms of heft & wearability.
I was looking at my invictas and both have imperfections on their craft , like one of the lumen little dots have a spot unfilled of the lumen , and the round little circles are round but the lumen fills are like uneven instead of perfectly round is like the ring around the dot lumens is round but the green lumen is uneven
Also, for anyone attempting this, for professional results try to brush straight and in one direction. Sometimes going back and forth will look sloppy. The nekkid watch maker has a couple good videos where he does this. Ive picked up good tips from his videos.
I just did this with my pro diver, as well as removed the cyclops. I like it so much more. I kept the original strap, but brushed the polished parts of the links so it all looks the same. Overall, very happy
Poppin a comment to help along. Liked the content and video idea. Was fun for something new! I also have a few laying around I can try this on. Thanks for the idea.
It looks nice. I sanded away the Invicta on the watch side and put on a green tropic strap, looks good. I also have a Pagani design jubilee with solid screwed links and endlinks that fit this watch nice.
Yup I am in actually I have the Emotiva b1 plus running on 1990 Kenwood 5150 and dude I am stuck for words how I want to thank you for your honest review
He's at it again 😮I'm thinking of doing it to my Milsub... Watchdives shiny sides. I have a very good after market bracelet (miltat).Capton tape is ideal for masking off areas that need protection from the green psycho pad....
I did this with a 50mm invicta tachometer watch. Turned out pretty kool. A lot light too. Have pro diver on its way to me. Going to get the same treatment. Kool video
I followed your instructions and now my watch is all scratched up, you owe me a new watch! Just kidding. I took the high shine off my Invicta and man it looks great! Thanks for the video!
I thing Invicta gets a bad wrap. Yeah sure some of their watches are gruesome but they can produce some really nice pieces. One of my first mechanical watches was the invicta sub mariner. It’s been everywhere and still works like a trooper. I still wear it now and again. Your watch at the end looks fantastic. I’d definitely wear it.
The red scotch pads are a finer grain and give a better finish. I usually use the green to start and finish with the red. Great videos btw really enjoying your content 👍🏻
I have the Pro Diver 42mm as well. Its alright, except the INVICTA on the side, and the second hand with the wings counter balance. I'd like to change those aspects and rub it all down like you did here. Nice job!
nice outcome 👍 i did this on my seiko sea urchin and put a rubber strap. definiteley looks better. more toolish. may i suggest also change those mercedes hans to somerhing like skx or seamaster hands. i think it would look really cool
Eh, I think the polished finished suits it just fine. So does the brushed - but it doesn't elevate it IMO. The strap does, though. To me the real elevation comes with a dial/hands change.
Did this to my Mako II after watching the last vid. Love it. I wear it on a NATO and it looks D🔥PE, much more appropriate with the vintage sub ceramic bezel insert and coin edge bezel (edit: 1st mod, but yeah, the polish always felt "off"). Much more tool-ish, it looks like an old Milsub now. Love it, great video.
Always quite liked the look of this Invicta Sub copy. Tho imo if you want a Rolex homage for cheap that looks $800 I’d get a more ‘premium’ Chinese special like San Martin
@@Bertminator $360? I bought my 3 SM for $200 or less and can guarantee you the build quality and finish is way above the likes of the Pro Diver or Orient Ray. For example my SN006 was $200 during a sale and it’s laughably better quality than my Ray II
@@cheapwatchman_official I'm really struggling with any thing russia related this days, but its a cool watch if you know what it is and don't have unrealistic expectations from it.
A fitted fmk band made mine perfect without messing with everything else it's so much better than the cheesy oyster band. I'm removing all metal bands except the specific models .
No me parece, si quieres algo caro y no puedes, cual es el problema? Disfruta tu reloj económico Invicta (que es muy buen reloj) y que no te importe lo que los demás digan o piensen....
You could have spent an extra 10 minutes and taken the watch apart. Open the case, take the crown stem and movement out. Pop the bezel off and even pop the crystal out of case and caseback. Then sand it properly. Clean everything and reassemble. Would have been easier and better results. Even replace the dial with a sterile one.
Dude. It wasn’t a long drawn out refurb video, it was a quick, “Hey, let me show you what you can do with a strip of Scotchbrite!” Go to wristwatch revival if you want to see those.
So, by your example, Randy... since my Pro Diver cost me $53, if I do the same process to it... it'd be worth $530. If I do it, would you accept it as trade on your Hamilton Murph? :D (Hint: Any answer other than 'no' is wrong. If you are compelled to answer positively, I suggest consulting a mental health professional.)
