They were a recognizable bad guy in the outside world probably before they were much of a bad guy in America lol. So their Definitely A Bad Guy image remains in the Japanese consciousness even now.
I can tell you put a lot of time and effort into this! I like how although the focus is on Berry, the other girls show up a lot. It moves naturally to the music and actually looks very, very professional! Keep it up!

Heck after rewatching the anime with my friend... as much as I'd had the change..... I honestly wish they'd make a revamp of the WHOLE anime? There were SO many amazing moment's left ouch.... my top two being When kisshu begged her crying honestly to love him, and for half a moment she considered just how much she meant to him... and when ichigo under the stress of it all actually attacked the mew's to protect "Masaya" (deep blue)... When I refound out that didn't happen in the anime, and she just got hit over being a little off center about the idea... dude I was pissed.
And make the finale epic instead of Berry and Ichigo debating morals with a KKK member and he just decides: Your right Mew-Mew's I am going to just leave.
Yeah it'd be great if they made an adaptation of a la mode with a lot of addtional information. I didn't really enjoy the manga, it felt rushed and I hardly knew who the villains even were before it was over. Also a whole new main character in such a short story didn't seem like a very good idea either. I don't remember it much anymore, only how disappointed I was.
aaa, this is absolutely perfect, I couldn't stop smiling the whole time I was watching it! :) You really *nailed* the tone of old mahou shoujo openings! I particularly loved 0:37-0:56 (love the callback to the original op, and Berry opening the door is so nice and fluidly animated!!), 0:58-1:03 (the transition from the girls fighting to the cafe = perfect!!) and 1:24-1:40 (the Ichigo/Berry team up is so nicely animated, aaaa... and so cute!! ^^). And, well, it's just nice to see some A La Mode love for once ^^; This is amazing, I love it!! Awesome job! :)
JJ Retro some people mistake Duke's wardrobe as a Ku Klux Klan outfit, it's suppose to resemble a capirote, a pointed hat worn by Spanish Christian priests during Easter. This ties into the definition of the name "Saint Rose Crusaders".
Lupita Torres A MEME?? it's just the style of hood + robes the villain is wearing. It looks UNCANNILY similar to the KKK's attire. (But from what I understand, this connection wasn't intentional. His outfit is supposed to be based on some sort of european religious attire.)

I really wish there was an anime version of A La Mode, nobody doesn't make any Tokyo Mew Mew fan made stuff on TH-cam hardly anymore so I was surprised to see this was made in 2017. This actually makes me cry since Tokyo Mew Mew was the first anime I was so obsessed with, I made so many oc characters. So many good memories :(

Other than it being unpopular, I'd guess the real reason is something to do with Takara-Tomy. Remember that A La Mode was commissioned by a toy company. Ikumi/Yoshida/the manga publishing company probably don't even own it.

That one scene where they’re all using their weapons and then it transitions to the cafe was way too good and It stopped the heart of an innocent bystander. Actually though like seriously this is gorgeous and it’s giving me so much nostalgia and like I’m gonna cry because this is everything I never knew I needed so..... cheers you’re amazing
I LOVE THIS. tmm was my first manga/anime and I was always sad a la mode never got a series. a lot of effort was put into this, it's really lovely and brought back lots of memories for me. thank you for making and sharing this

From what I've heard/read, it should be coming out sometime in 2022 (the new mew mew anime atleast, not sure about the spin offs, but I hope those get animated too, because if they are doing a remake, then they should expand on the content, otherwise, I think it will be kinda disappointing, at least for me, because whats the point of a remake, if they arent gonna provide more content, not just the stuff we have already seen)

I only now found this while rewatching TMM, and seeing this amount of effort put into showing your love for a little known short sequel to a comparatively unknown show that's still done so much for so many people makes my heart bleed in joy. I don't care if that's not an expression, it is now. Absolutely fantastic.

It's very disliked by the fandom, as they already prefer to act like it doesn't exist, they wouldn't recieve the anime very well
