Im sure I've seen the odd onboard video in the past where a rally driver has actually clutch kicked on the odd hairpin in an AWD rally car with sequential gearbox. Most probably 99 percent of the time they dont need to do that because of the anti-lag system, but im sure i have seen them do it the odd time in the modern WRC cars.

I'll try to check that, but if you have a source backing that up, please share. Also, in my opinion, the S7 in the video you shared still has a much different sound than the S7 in the game. The WRC Impreza in Dirt Rally 1 is closer, in my humble opinion, and I understand that all the sounds in that game are also recorded from the real counterpart cars. I could be wrong though, so thanks for civilly bringing up your argument.

I'm no expert, but you don't shift at redline, you shift when the gear indicator lights up red. When the indicator lights up the car is outputting peak power. Right?
Keep in mind this isn’t a street impreza They had equal length exhaust headers on the rally cars and it’s recommended to swap out the stock unequal length ones to custom EL ones for a smoother “breath” of the engine on highly tuned street cars

That sound does not sound right. The impreza's boxer engine has a much lower growling and poppy sound than this.
The 2000s Subaru WRC cars had equal length headers that gave them this sound. The game used the actual car's recorded sound

Always hated how these games tarmac handling looks and feels. Dirt Rally 1 and 2 would be perfect if they just had decent tarmac physics...
In 2.0 the physics were improved and the tarmac physics are definetly different, you can actually drift cars in 2.0 unlike in the first one

He's using sequential transmission. That type does not use clutch pedal to shift. All he got to do is pull or push the gear shifter to change gears.
