@Rocketfish Design Studio I disagree with both of you, to me he had enough control of it on the way down, it was tucked between bicep and forearm and close to the body if you look closely and it only came out after he hit the ground. The ump was only 15-20metres away with a pretty good view. I don't support Geelong or Collingwood so no bias here. However having said that, I agree that they might not pay that today, they have tightened up on the rule since then, thank god as there were way too many dropped marks awarded back in the day. That top 50 vid has iirc 8 dropped marks imo. Ablett's mark doesn't even rank in my top 100 only because the ball spilling out after he landed, same with Jeremy Howe's mark.
Yeah I'm on the side where I dont think it should count but I dont want to take anything away from the skill and technique for him to collect the ball in the first place! Thank you! That helps on confidence in reacting longer to these videos!
Take a look at the 50 greatest mark video. Have a look at Jay Schultz's mark. It's behind the goal line I reckon. It's at 5:06. Everybody always comments on the Ablett mark which is fair enough, but nobody questions the Schultz mark. BTW I'm a Geelong supporter and I don't think Ablett's mark should have paid.
@@Ozvideo1959 The Jay Schulz mark is pretty hard to tell accurately, the problem is our vantage point as a tv viewer makes it really difficult to judge. It "looks" over the goal line, even with the extra camera angle not shown in that video. The goal umpire was in perfect position though, have to remember the ball has to be completely past the fat padding of the post at the time it's taken to be not considered a mark. Either way it's a great catch.
I was at the game when Jeremy Howe took that mark. It was pretty much the only good thing any Melbourne player did over the whole game as Sydney defeated Melbourne by 101 points. Sydney 21.12 (138) def. Melbourne 5.7 (37)

Unfortunately that video you reacted to is a bit rubbish, not the marks but the editing and lack of replays.There's been some awesome marks in the last few years that would replace half of these imo. @@TheBeesleys99 the "trade period" has been and gone i.e. players going from club to club. But the "draft" (best 18yr old's) is coming up. Teams get selections in the draft from where they finished on the ladder, last on the ladder gets 1st pick and 1st on the ladder get's 18th pick (18 teams). Some of the biggest 'moves' this year are Joe Daniher Ess- Bris Jeremy Cameron GWS - Geel. If you are going to do a reaction to trade week, look into the back ground of the Adam Treloar deal. Very interesting, nothing dodgy but if you were a Collingwood supporter you would be fuming. Collingwood will be paying 200K for him to play at another club (don't know if this happens in the EPL or not)
A midget on the back of a jockey, if there was a 190cm player in the area he could have punched the ball away without jumping, but that being said it is still a great mark, and one of the best.

Australia uses the metric system so it's metres not yards. A yard is 36in as compared to a metre which is around 39in.
