Omg! We just purchased our first Blackstone grill and used it for the first time today!!! I am more than thrilled to have found the Waltwins👨🍳👨🍳 I absolutely love watching these two and how helpful these videos are! You guys rock and get us excited about using our new grill and finding new ways to cook so many delicious foods!!!!! Thank you guys so much👌👌
I've been real skeptical on cooking a steak on my blackstone, after watching this im cooking some on it to day for mothers day. Have to try this out. Thanks guys
Just bought a Blackstone after visiting my daughter and son in Law. He hooked me on it. After checking here I have found the Waltwins and have watched so many videos and you guys are the best. I'm starting out with your chicken LoMein and on from there. I'm hoping everyone turns out as good as yours look on here. Keep up the good work and keep the videos coming. I can see another 25+ pounds in my future. Tomorrow is day one.
Oh wow! This is the best fam!! Thank you so much for watching and for finding us! Our chicken Lo Mein continues to be one of our all-time favorite cooks, so good!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Guys, it was OUTSTANDING. I added shrimp and beef and turned iut into house special Lo Mein and the neighbor came over and we really en joyed this meal. Nexgt we are going to the steaks. Thanks for your recipes. I'm really going to enjoy this thing.
I was afraid of even more hate for the bone, but my grocer had porterhouse for 5.77/lb. I couldn't resist. I nearly chickened out and did them on the grill, but am so glad I didn't. No marinade, just heavy on the coarse salt on the strip side for 4 hours to tenderize. Patted dry and ba-boom! Rocked the steak, sautéed asparagus and garlic toast all on the Blackstone, along with baked potato (inside job). My household is in a coma and I'm just getting over the meat sweats. Mother's day was a success. Thanks!
Yes!!! That is so awesome!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! We did some filet mignon for Mother’s Day, I almost feel like we can’t do steak any other way than on the Blackstone!😄😄. Take care fam and GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Oh heck yes fam!! We did a Filet mignon video and a tomahawk steak vid that shows our favorite method for cooking steaks - so good fam! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
I am buying a Blackstone Gribble because of your videos. Over the weekend I got another brand griddle from our local academy store but it did not workout. While trying to season the griddle it concaved in the middle so I brought it back. My gut told me to buy a Blackstone, so here I am shopping for my new Blackstone griddle. I am buying some of those Farberware EdgeKeeper Chef's Knifes... thx for the tip!! keep up the videos guys...
Wow, that is so awesome - not the part about the other griddle folding, but on the fact that you are getting a Blackstone! We love them for sure!! Thank you so much for watching and for looking into the knives too! This video is nearly a year old, and we are still using the same knives! Take care and GRIDDLE ON brother!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Agreed! We kept a close eye, and it was juicy all the way to the last bite - we were worried it may overcook, but it was great! Next time 2 minutes per side would be ideal. Thanks so much for watching!🤙🤙
I did ribeyes on the Camp Chef 600 and loved them more than on my Webber. People need to recognize thick meats can be done on griddles easily. When you go to a fancy steakhouse, chances are they're cooking them on a flat top. See any chimneys at those joints? Nah! Griddle life 4TW. Well done gentlemen.

I am not sold on just the salt and pepper only seasoning...I have a religious affiliation with Montreal Steak seasoning...but the end product looked amazing...love the cut of the ribeye...also...for those that are new...Brett has a subliminal rating system, its the arm flick finger snap, he did four in this video...scale is to three...so this must have been amazing!!!
Hahaha! Yep, when Brett throws out the signature finger snap, you know it was good! We aren’t big on the Montreal, but would never disrespect you for your religious affiliation!😜. Love you bro!🤙🤙
@@waltwins Love the "finger snap!!!" Did it constantly when I was younger!!! At my age I'd risk breaking a finger!!! Lol!!! Great video as usual, guys!!!

After 3 min sear on both sides, I add a half stick or more of butter on the griddle and season the butter with..whatever.. and throw the steaks on the butter..both sides just enough to coat it and take them off and scoop all the butter on to the steak. Asparagus on the griddle while the steaks rest are a standard at our place. I really think griddle cooking steaks is definitely the way to go. Open flame, grill style just dries it out.
Brother! We should have consulted you before the cook! 😜 We legit were wondering if we should do the butter, but held off at the last minute. Your way is brilliant! We’ve wanted to do the asparagus on the griddle - something we’ll consider for sure for the next steak vid! Thanks so much man!🤙🤙
Cooked ribeyes for the wife and I on the blackstone. I use s&p, onion powder, a dash of Wyler's beef powder and garlic powder. One of THE best steaks I have ever had! No joke. Thanks for another great vid guys :)

Fantabulous lookin steak guys. I used to think the fastest way to ruin a steak was to cook it on a flat top, then I got my Blackstone and it changed my mind. Salt and pepper on red meat is very good. You guys are awesome. First meal on my new Blackstone was smash burgers last weekend. What I’ve got to know though is “What is your background music? “ I think is is really festive!
So awesome fam! We’ve cooked smashburgers more than any other item on our Blackstone, so good!! The music is by DJ Quads - we love his vibe! You guys are great. You explain every detail about everything. Did you let the cook steak 3 minutes on each side or five just curious. Where did you buy the Blackstone how much was it?
Thank you SO MUCH for the kind words fam! Great question! This was an older video, but I believe we did do 3-4 minutes per side (internal temp to 120, for our preference). This unit we picked up at Walmart, but 2 years ago it was $592 dollars, not sure what they are now. We also now use a Pit Boss Sierra 3 burner from Walmart ($297), and other Pit Boss ceramic top griddles - we love them all! :D
@@waltwins oh man, we had family over I did 14 steaks and boom -finger snap- lol Tomorrow Doing pancakes and using the left over steak to do a couple omelette’s
Blackstone is awesome for a steak. I like to reverse sear with it. Put it on my Egg until it comes up to 100 degrees indirect will give extra flavor without losing much of the juiciness. Yum. Good video.
I love your videos, very entertaining and informative. The one suggestion I would like to make is that it would be very helpful, especially for newbies like me, if in the beginning you were to share the temperature you are using when cooking your various meals. I noticed you do on some videos, but others you do not. Thanks!
Thank you so much for watching and for the suggestion - many of the videos you may see that don’t, we’re our older videos - we try to make it a habit to show or explain where the knobs are turned. We’ll do better going forward too! Take care and thank you again!🤙🤙
HAHAHAHAHA, Smell check... I love it. Great job guys. I cooked some rib-eye steaks Sunday and they were delicious too! Thank you again for sharing another amazing video.
Awaiting our first Blackstone 22 inch, just found your channel! Looking forward to viewing your select Blackstone recipes... You two are a riot. Just starting to view your channel.
About to start this exact recipe now now here in Cookeville Tennessee. Just got home last night from Texas. We have some beautiful ribeyes right now. It’s 7:10pm Sunday night here. …. Stay Tuned
@@waltwins Update 7:52 pm Central Time here in Tennessee. And the steaks are amazing. My kids destroyed theirs and I’m so full I can’t even get up from the table. These guys here on TH-cam are the best. The recipe is amazing and simple but the steaks taste like you are in a fine dinning steakhouse. Absolutely delicious the whole family is happy after a long drive back home from Texas. We had to go because dad passed away. This dinner was on time. Thank you guys
@@HouseWashingRickwow! Thats incredible and so humbling - thank you so much for the kind words! We just got our Black stone, watched your videos and made the hamburgers first. They were fabulous. Can’t wait to try the chicken fried rice next. I have subscribed to your channel and am watching all the videos I can find of you guys… you are a riot. I hope you continue to make more . Thanks for sharing.
Oh wow, thank you so much for watching and subscribing! We absolutely love cooking on the Blackstone, and we promise to keep the videos coming!🤗🤗. Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Gonna try this today. Have 5 thin cut ribeyes. Two have to be well done (at least no pink) and the other 3 medium. I will do the sear the same for all 5, but guess I need to take temps to ensure I don’t overcook the mediums. Any advice on temp to pull the mediums off the direct heat? They will continue to cook while resting...
Yes, the only thing I can think is that a thermometer will help, and pull them off just before you think you should - I do try same with bacon to make sure I don’t overcook. Hope this helps! Take care!🤙🤙
WALTWINS the 5 ribeyes turned exactly as I planned. 3 at medium and 2 well done. I used the internal thermometer to ensure I pulled the mediums off to indirect heat and plate to reach the appropriate temp! Even my well done ribeyes were juicy thanks to the sear. Will be doing this again!
Tony Bruno yyyyyeeeeesssss!!! I love it! We love steaks on the griddle - even better once we figured out how to get the cook down! Thank you for sharing Tony!
Sear the steak on high for 1-2 minutes to get crust. Temp on low on other side of griddle. Place on a rack and put dome over it and finish slowly to 130 den and pull. Best way to do it.
Back at it again?! Does your griddle ever cool down? Loved this one! Ribeye, my fave! I do mine just a tad pinker! Thanks again from Stumptown, Oregon! 👍
Yes!! Thank you so much again man! In all honesty, we agree, the Blackstone didn’t cool down quick enough after the sear, and Brett was cooking it like it was a 2” cut - (we edited out his realization...🤣) - still more pink in the middle and delicious! Ribeye is best with that pink though 🤙🤙
The blackstone does cook up some great steaks, it’s like using a huge cast iron pan which I do too. It looked really juicy. What are your favorite toppings or sides for steaks? Awesome job brothers!
Hey man, thanks so much! We grew up always having mash potatoes with steak, so that’s alway a go to, we also really like asparagus (done right), or really any medley of potatoes. Always love tossing some butter on top of a hot steak, and at times, I’ll dabble with A-1. 🤙
Did some ribeyes on the BS last night following your suggestions. They turned out excellent. I will probably never do steaks on a charcoal grill again.
Yes!!! Thank you for sharing! The hate for cooking steak on the BS is real! But you know what? So is the delicious taste of said steaks, right?!😜 Thank you so much for watching!🤙🤙
I was told for med to med well 7-8 mins per side on low to medium. They always come out well done or more. I’m definitely going to do it your way 2 mins per side and see how it turns out. Thanks for the videos.
Waltwins, you guys rock. What do you think about cooking a 1 inch ribeye 5 min on both side after the sear? My wife refuses to to eat a steak with pink inside. Medium Well for her. I'm loving the griddle. Have the 36 in with air fryer and the 17 in for quick cooking..
Oh wow, that is so awesome, thank you so much for watching man! Yes! That would be great, and most likely just the way your wife would like it, my wife is the same way, she prefers medium/medium well. Take care!🤙🤙
Did my first ribeye on the flat top tonight. Final verdict... It was okay, but I still 100% prefer it on the grill. At least for a ribeye for sure. It's hard to beat the char flavor and when actual flames hit that fat, magic happens that you don't get cooking it any other way. On the grill I do mine with the cover closed, get it up around 450, 1 min 15 then twist, 1 min 15 then flip, 1 min 15 then twist, final min 15 and a thick ribeye is an exquisite medium rare with a great char. Occasionally you pop the lod open and do a little fire fighting with a spray bottle of water to keep it from becoming a raging inferno, but you want those flames jumping up and kissing your steak for sure.
Hello, you had mentioned needing a large tray to carry food into the house. If you are close to an Arabic store, they sell small to very large stainless steel trays. Perfect for what you are looking for. It has a 1-2 inch lip to keep food on the tray.
New sub from Knoxville Tennessee. First family meal on the new Blackstone, big thanks! Steaks came out great. Starting a new Carnivore diet, so will be referencing your channel more. Still wondering if you guys are REALLY twins, or is it a computer trick? Either way, you guys(or one real guy?) are great!
Haha! Thank you so much fam! Yes, we are indeed twins, as one viewer once put it, we are “freakishly identical…” 😂😂. We love griddle cooking and sharing what we learn. We’re so happy the cook was a success!! Congratulations fam, GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥
Thank you so much for watching! We had the dial set to medium heat, since the video is a few years old, we’re not quite sure the exact temp. We prefer a different method, searing the steak at high heat, then moving it to a medium/low section of the griddle and basting the steak in butter - it’s amazing!! th-cam.com/video/6xT7z3luz0o/w-d-xo.htmlsi=opUdrsb7F5AzU_TR
We have not! But we will for sure give it a try - I saw it on the shelf at the store the other day, and knowing others rave about it, I almost grabbed it - will do for sure next time. Thank you so much for watching and for the great recommendation!🤙🤙
It’s crazy for ppl to say that the black stone is the wrong tool. How many times have we heard that you can cook a steak in a cast iron? Same thing! I cooked four prime ribeyes this weekend on my blackstone however i started them on the pellet grill for 30 minutes at 220, then finished them off on the blackstone. Turned out AMAZING!!!
@@John-yr3lp oh gotcha! I believe this is the music from DJ Quads - you should be able to find it on TH-cam! The songs we use are Extraordinaire and Crusin’ Around. 🤙🤙
To cook a Porterhouse on a Blackstone use two heat zones. Turn the grill on for ten minutes so it gets super hot. Set one zone to high temperature and leave the steak on there for two minutes (this will sear it). Then flip it , and leave it there for two more minutes (this will sear the other side) Now you got the searing done. Now move on to the cooking. Move the steak to the medium temperature zone and let it finish cooking there for another five minutes, then flip over and let it cook again for another five minutes. Done. Using two zones (high heat and medium) is the way to cook it. Tip: do not listen to the nonsense about taking your steak out of the fridge and waiting until it gets to room temperature. Just cook it from the fridge right to the griddle. Tip: salt first and pepper after it's all done. Tip: Butter is your friend.
Thank you fam! This video is from 3 years ago, and we’ve done as you described above several times I videos, so good! The best filet mignon we’ve had we did on the griddle. You can’t beat good buttery steak! Much love fam!🔥🔥🤙🤙

This unit we picked up at Walmart, but 2 years ago it was $592 dollars, not sure what they are now. We also now use a Pit Boss Sierra 3 burner from Walmart ($297), and other Pit Boss ceramic top griddles - we love them all! :D
Awesome Video guys!
Thank you so much for watching and chiming in man! We really appreciate it!
Doing my first steaks tonight! Glad I watched your video first!!
Oh heck yes man!! How did they turn out?!🤙🤙
@@waltwins oh man, we had family over I did 14 steaks and boom -finger snap- lol
Tomorrow Doing pancakes and using the left over steak to do a couple omelette’s
@@joelsawyer7714 woot woot! Love it!! Pancakes are amazing on the Blackstone too! Take care mans and GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Blackstone is awesome for a steak. I like to reverse sear with it. Put it on my Egg until it comes up to 100 degrees indirect will give extra flavor without losing much of the juiciness. Yum. Good video.
Absolutely fam!! We did the same thing with our Laredo pellet smoker, finished on the griddle - so good brother!!🔥🔥
I love steak! This looks awesome! I totally want a black stone!
Thank you so much!! It was amazing! We absolutely love the Blackstone and all it can do!🤙🤙
I love your videos, very entertaining and informative.
Thanks so much man! For reals, we love that the Blackstone really can do it all - loved this steak!!
Awaiting our first Blackstone 22 inch, just found your channel! Looking forward to viewing your select Blackstone recipes... You two are a riot. Just starting to view your channel.
Oh wow, congratulations on the new Blackstone comin’ soon! We really appreciate you watching and having fun along with us!! GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙
About to start this exact recipe now now here in Cookeville Tennessee. Just got home last night from Texas. We have some beautiful ribeyes right now. It’s 7:10pm Sunday night here. …. Stay Tuned
Heck yes!!! Keep us posted fam!!🔥🔥
We are so sorry for your loss, we lost our dad a few years back, and our hearts go out to you and your precious family. Tell the kiddos “hi” from the WALTWINS! I’m sure you are their new favorite chef brother!! GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥😊
@@waltwins thank you so much. The kids are jumping up and down and having fun just because you said hi to them. That made them excited. Thank you. We needed this tonight. It’s been a tough week and you already have been through it before. Hope you guys have a wonderful and blessed year. And thank you for everything you do. The Walker Family
Great video guys. Making rib eyes tonight on the BS. I need one of those knives. Time for another Amazon purchase. Lol. Thx for sharing 👍
Haha! That is so awesome man! How did the steaks turn out?! Take care and GRIDDLE ON FAM!🔥🔥🤙🤙
@@waltwins They turned out great. Add butter and garlic and rosemary. Thx.
Great job guys, looks AWESOME!!!
Thank you so much man, this means a lot to us coming from you!🤙🤙
Brought my griddle yesterday, I have a Weber Q1200 as well. After binging on your videos, I'm not sure whether or not to keep the Q haha.
Haha! Thank you so much for watching man! I’m sure you will find a use for it still!😜😜
Gonna try this today.
Thanks so much for the advice! We wanted to do a straight-on-griddle cook, but we’ll definitely do it with the rack next time! 🤙🤙
Looks amazing as always fellas thanks for sharing!
Thank you so much as always!!! Griddle on!!!❤️😁🤙🏻
Great Video Thanks for Sharing
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words!!😄😄🔥🔥
Awesome awesome awesome awesomeness
Woot woot!!! Just like you man!!🤣🤣
You guys rock! Thanks for the vids. Picking up my Blackstone tomorrow and can't wait to get cooking on it.
Oh yes!!! We are so excited for you! Congratulations fam!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Good job guys
You guys are very entertaining! Keep it goin.
Thank you so much Vince! That definitely made our day brother! Griddle on!!!😁❤️🤙
Looks good. I wonder how much better it would be you cooked it in garlic butter those last 2 mins...i may try that tonight!
Thank you so much!! Oh, for sure it would add to it! We just did a huge tomahawk ribeye cook and used garlic butter - it was amazing!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Great job, guys!! Thank you for sharing this!
Thank you so much for watching Nick! This was so good!!! Griddle on brother!!!😁❤️🤙
Stilton Blue cheese 🤪
Excellent!!
Oh so happy you liked it! Thank you so much for watching!🤗🤗
Looks delicious y'all did amazing job
Thank you so much brother! We are loving the way steaks turn out on the Blackstone - so good!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Did you guys just make a toast with a piece of meat? Brilliant!
Haha! Right?! Because why not!😜. Thanks so much for watching man!🤙🤙
Did my first ribeye on the flat top tonight.
Nice Scrooged reference!
Haha! We love that movie! Thank you so much for watching! Griddle on!!!🤙🏻
Sorry guys haven't been watching I was videos in a while been busy but awesome
Hey fam! No worries at all! We just appreciate the support whenever you’re able to catch a show! Much loved GRIDDLE ON! KEEP BEING AWESOME!!
Another great vid. Love the channel!
Oh wow, thank you so much for watching! We really appreciate the support!🤙🤙
Hello, you had mentioned needing a large tray to carry food into the house. If you are close to an Arabic store, they sell small to very large stainless steel trays. Perfect for what you are looking for. It has a 1-2 inch lip to keep food on the tray.
Oh, excellent suggestion! Thank you so much for watching and chiming in!! Take care and GRIDDLE ON!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Love you guys! I think a prime ribeye is my fav.
Yay!! Thank you so much! This was such a fun cook, and of course we always love cooking together - we love that you enjoy!🤗🤗
Agree. Salt and pepper is all on a steak.. well butter. No streak sauce on a good piece of meat.
Right?! We appreciate trying various rubs, but honestly, it’s always about the S & P and of course, butter!😄😄🔥🔥
Congratulations fam, GRIDDLE ON!🔥🔥
I just bought a Blackstone! What was the temp of the surface you cooked the rib eye?
Thank you so much for watching! We had the dial set to medium heat, since the video is a few years old, we’re not quite sure the exact temp. We prefer a different method, searing the steak at high heat, then moving it to a medium/low section of the griddle and basting the steak in butter - it’s amazing!!

Garlic salt would be the perfect garnish, it looks fabulous
Oh yes!! For sure, thank you so much as always!!🤗🤗
That looks Perfect!
Yes! Thank you so much! It was sooo good!🤙🤙
You guys ever use Ghee as your base oil? Very high smoke point and buttery flavor. Rendered butter removing all the milk fats. Give it a try.
U guys r great!!!
Wow, thank you so much! We appreciate you, and this means so much to us!🤙🤙
I like you guys - thank you for the show - funny as well
Thank you so much for watching and for the kind words!! We really appreciate the support!🤙🤙
You guys have an online cookbook for downloading?
Thank you so much for watching! Not yet, but we are working on outing something together!🤙🤙
Nothing beats charcoal for a steak. But the blackstone is a lot easier
For sure, we love it all! Cheers fam!🤙🤙
Im doing this 2morrow, for Mother's Day
Wahoo! So good! We decided for filet mignon this year, but ribeye is always a possibility - so good!!🤙🤙🔥🔥
You guys are funny to watch, great job on the video.
Thank you so much for the kind words brother!!🔥🔥
Curious if you guys have ever cooked a Rib Eye with The Usual Suspect seasoning???
Absolutely - and w me gotta say - it’s incredible!!!!!🔥🔥
@@waltwins thank you, I made the seasoning and made the pork chops everyone was blown away so much flavor, made me think a ribeye might be amazing

Haha!! Awesome!! Let us know for sure if you ever want to know any of the others! Take care man!🤙🤙
Mouth is watering....
Haha!! Indeed! This one was so good!!🔥🔥
good vid, for me thats overcooked but thats my preference
Thank you so much for watching! Agreed, the Middle was perfect, but we wanted a lighter pink on the first cut.
What grill u use?
Thank you so much for watching! This is the Blackstone griddle, but we use the Pit Boss griddles now. Cheers!🤙🤙
Was just wondering what kind of salt and pepper are you using?
Hello! Thank you so much for watching! We are just using regular Morton’s salt and Tone’s brand pepper. 🤙🤙
What about using ghee? I’m trying that tonight- yum!
Ghee would be excellent for sure!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
@@waltwins welp. I tried it, I seared it, and it was damn tasty! Ghee for a win!
Awesome! 🔥🔥🤙🤙
Do you use the edges of the Blackstone to render the fatty edges?
Thanks so much for watching! We didn’t for this cook - typically with the bone-our, we do, but with the bone it was more difficult. 🤙🤙
where did you get that lid
Hey man, thanks so much for watching! This one came with the unit - this is the Air Fryer Griddle combo.🤙🤙
Thanks guys
Have you tried using butter instead of oil for the steak?
Thank you so much for watching! We have done it both ways for sure, in fact we prefer butter. Take care!🤙🤙🔥🔥
Most restaurants use a griddle it’s the best thing to use
Agreed! We absolutely love griddle cooking, and don’t see stopping any time soon!🤙🤙
Walt twins are great - what music do they listen too?
Wow, thank you so much man! We love nearly all types of music! Are you looking for something specific? Take care brother!!🔥🔥
The music in this video. Thanks
Ribeyes it is for tonight with some compound butter and shrimp. Griddle On!
Oh yes!! That is amazing!! Honestly, we love doing steaks this way, so good!!🔥🔥🤙🤙
Where's the jalapeno poppers video guys?!?! Let's do it
Haha! We are only together once every 2 weeks - we’re working on a good recipe we can throw on the Blackstone! We’ll get it!🤙🤙
