    This HP is what replaced my now 13 years old Acer.
    What I wanted:
    - Based on experience: 14" rather than 15.6", "nipple" and no need to disassemble 3/4 of the device to replace thermal paste or clean the fan when needed.
    - As upgrade: CPU supported by Windows 11 without workarounds.
    What I did not cared about:
    - Numeric keyboard because I use laptop keyboard only when I take it outside.
    - GPU performance because everything can run classic Warcraft 3 and for the rest there is desktop.
    So I bought this one from refurb company as it was and then just replaced 256GB drive with 1TB and 8GB RAM with 32GB as 2*16.

Blue Tip Charger as well as USB-C charger (which I use more than the blue tip) Running Windows 11 which I love that it can do! Favorite laptop of all time. Im planning to buy a 2nd hand used Elitebook 240 g5 8gen 512 ssd, i7 for my software development. Is that configuration fine?

    • @Scott.The.IT.Guy.
      @Scott.The.IT.Guy.  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Sure, it would work but gen 8 is about to get 6 years old.
      Not sure how much you are going to pay for that laptop but for $300 you can get a new laptop with a gen12 i3 CPU. That will be much faster than any gen8 -gen 10 CPU. Even a low level laptop will last just as long as the already 6 years old business will do.Laptop with a gen12 CPU is newer has more modern features, I would rather go with that, plus you have least one year warranty on it.
      With a used laptop, there could be a bad or degraded battery, cooling fan might need mainteance or replacement. The SSD might used to the point where it`s no longer healthy. The laptop might got dropped or used to the point where the hinges or case is damaged or worn.

    Hi, is the viewing angles of this laptop decent or getting dark at angles? Thank you.

    • @Scott.The.IT.Guy.
      @Scott.The.IT.Guy.  28 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      There is a healthcare version of this laptop where they used a built-in privacy screen, that has a “super bad” view angles by design, it prevents people from shoulder surfing so if you are not completely right in front of it will be dark black for sure.
      This laptop has none of that, the view angle is completely standard, I have no issues with the screen regard of that.
