Did my part, good luck man! Back in the early 90’s I bought a 1980 Buick Century LTD for $175 just for the low mileage 231 V6 & trans to put in a 46 Jeep. Got it running with a $10 fuel pump and started driving it as a daily for a while. To this day it was the most comfortable vehicle I’ve ever owned so this brought back memories!
EAgles are kicking butt, so....... I love this Roadmaster. The engine is so from my youth. The fit, the visibility, feel, all the extras I grew up with (Dad had bucks.) Even the (for its time) gawdy red is so imperial....... This one deserves to be saved and savored. The money will be raised.
Great video of your buick roadmaster 😍 i have a 1994 buick roadmaster it was my uncle he is the original owner 😍 i have to do some work on the car but im happy i have it 😀

I've played through three times now 😊 only because I'm watching on Christmas day and fell asleep the first two times 😅 . I hope you are able to get the old girl, low mileage and apart from the cricket bat dent, it's a pretty straight looking car also try finding another one in similar condition. Now living across the pond I know more about nuclear physics than reliability of a Buick but the old girl has last this long and from what I've seen, looks keen to go even longer. Merry Christmas young man and even better new year. Gary 🇬🇧 🇬🇧
Lol. Understandable. This Buick is built for the last generation of insanely reliable and easy to work on Chevrolet engines and transmissions. Should work like rocks and gravity for absorber 100k miles
I have a 96 Roadmaster sedan and absolutely love it. But I just did the water pump, opti spark and all the front seals. And they were an absolute pain in the but to do! So I completely understand where you are coming from with preferring the normal tbi motor.
thats interesting to hear... i know that those motors run circles around the tbi versions but for me, this car can do everything i want it to and i could change the water pump on the side of the road in in the dark. I drive my classic cars daily but have never done a burnout in my life... never had the spare money to break stuff by horsing around lol

These are the cars you always see mechanics driving.... because of all the reasons you said. Parts are available, you can work on the them, and can be found with low miles.
It seems like my parents and everyone's parents had a big car with a V8 in it back then. As you climbing through it I can still smell the smells of those cars. That one seems in crazy good shape. Id expect the interior to be trashed and every panel to be severely dinged.
Love Buicks; my current daily driver is a 1994 Regal Custom Coupe survivor Calif car zero rust 131K 3800; only issue is its obd 1 and hard to find parts but great car, cheap to own.
Now, if you had a Honda behind you, I would never have clicked on this … but … with a cool ole Buick like that? Go gettem’ Tiger! For what it’s worth … In my state, the interstate highway speed limit went from 55 to 65 in 1987. By 1993, it was up to 70 mph.
Okay Mr. Goodwrech (IDK yur name as of yet...1st ever viewing anything from BSG) I'm splitting this big screen and playing this a second time on mute whilst I use the other screen to peruse your channel for more of BSG Productions Good Times DY-NO-MITE!... This was a difficult year 1993 for this now 67 year old was dealing with no less than what each generation before and then since has had to deal with... In my case too much Trauma from a war on the immune system of many, way too many peeps I loved. I drove back home from Long Beach CA to the Greater (then) Bay Area in a 1978 Cadillac Eldorado Barritz Brougham towing a similar vintage Lo-Liner 13 foot trailer produced by Aristocrat Industries. That recreational trailer full of my life's worldy goods became my temporary home until I finally had solid re-employment in EES.EEF's bloated tour industry as a tour coach operator and guide... The same year my father much too young died... Blessings to you whom has read this far and lettuce all put som effort into a fine and wonderous New Year not forgetting our Mr. Goodwrech here as I say he's going places in this genre, even if it takes a few days to get there... I definitely Like this and yes, I'm a new subber to BSG
thanks a lot man, that sounds like a very rough year but i am glad you made it through... i have only done that drive once, in the 1973 van featured in the channel, i bought it sight unseen in long beach and drove it up the pch to san Francisco before spending the month in it working my way back across the country. not as comfortable as the eldorodo and trailer but my circumstances were not as rough either thanks for the support on the channel, I have been workin hard at it so its great to hear people are entertained
its funny, i remember thinking these looked like bloated ticks when they came out, i far preferred the more angular boxy caprices and such as a kid, these looked plastic.... but everything is relative lol...this car just jumps out against the modern automobile and has so much more in common with a classic Buick than a modern one
I saw you pour green coolant in the reservoir, but I think GM started using DEX coolant in the 90-ies? Hope you checked if this engine needs DEX or regular.
im gettin ready to buy my first car. what do you think of a 98-05 park ave ultra (supercharged)? i want a big old luxury car that will last me forever like a 3800 buick
First of all congrats. I know hoovie loves his but there is nothing about a super charger that feels like a forever car. I have had great luck with Chevy cars and trucks. If you want a big boat I would look at early 90s chevies or fords ang get something with a basic v8. The 350 Chevy and the 289 ford small blocks are great parts are available and it’s easy to get info onthem. That’s just my two cents.
@@betweenthesharksgarage thanks for the advice. i looked into the fleetwoods and roadmasters, but i havent been able to find any in my area for a reasonable price. also looked at the caprice but those somehow are more expensive than some roadmasters and fleetwoods. most panther platforms ive seen are either not running, are in rough shape, or have 200k+ miles. i also looked at the deville, and while cheaper than fleetwoods, they are still pretty expensive. im kind of leaning toward a regular park ave (not ultra). i can easily find those for under $3k with 100-150k miles. do you think the naturally aspirated 3.8 is a good option? not too worried abt speed, just looking for something comfortable and reliable.
Man I wish I could help. But I genuinely know nothing about the 3.8. It might be great. I have a bias towards what I know If you dig those Buicks then snap one up you are gonna learn a lot about whatever you pick.

Such an underdog car!! One of the most comfortable highway cars out there. One time I accidentally bought one from CoPart for $175.
Accidents happen!!
thats funny
Love it. We had a '68 Skylark 4 door with bench seats, 350, 2 barrel.
The rear driver side interior light is on, that’s probably why the battery was completely dead
That’s a good point i movies that in the edit
Only thing better than that car would be if it was a wagon. Very good find, pay up TH-cam!!!

What I remember about those old Buick boats is that you would turn the steering wheel and then a minute later, the car would actually turn. :)
it just takes that long for the driver seat to make it around the turn
