update: I got mine and it was extremely easy and had a very easy healing process. 20min procedure, no pain even after the local anaesthetic wore off (other than the normal discomfort of having a small cut). If you're reading this, you've got this
There are one and two rod implants currently averrable. We also have a video on inserting a one rod implant. globalhealthmedia.org/videos/inserting-a-one-rod-implant/
The implant can cause weight gain in some people who use it. But this doesn’t happen to everybody -- many people use the implant without gaining weight. Everyone’s body is different, so contraception affects everyone a little differently. But birth control shouldn’t cause problems in your everyday life - it’s there to help you. If you have birth control weight gain and it bothers you, or notice other side effects that you don’t like, talk with your health care provider. They may be able to help you find another type of birth control that works better for you.
I don't believe so. The V shape makes the insertion easier by using just one entry and exit point for the rods. But, ultimately, the contraceptive effect will be the same -- whether they are side by side, for example, or in a V shape.
The rods slowly release a hormone called progesterone that prevents pregnancy -- by preventing the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation) and thickening cervical mucus (this blocks sperm from reaching an egg).
Pls I put it for about 4 years now and I’m scared it may stop me from giving birth but I ever been pregnant before so can I be able to get pregnant after I remove it 😢
When you go off the implant, your body will eventually return to the way it was before you went on it. It can also take a few months for your period to go back to the cycle you had before you got the implant (but you can still get pregnant during this time).
It is possible to get pregnant on the implant, but very rare -- The implant is one of the most effective birth control methods out there - it’s more than 99% effective. That means fewer than 1 out of 100 people who use the implant get pregnant each year. www.plannedparenthood.org/learn/ask-experts/can-i-get-pregnant-if-i-have-implanon-the-birth-control-implant
you will first get a shot of local anesthesia -- that's a little uncomfortable, like a bee-sting. then the area will be numb so you won't feel the implant being inserted.
Excellently described the whole procedure . Thanks to the whole team.
This is a very educative tutorial,,,you have my deepest gratitude
Thank you. I was really worried this would hurt awfully, but seeing it on a real life patient let me stop worrying ❤

But is it true that if you implant you grow fat and also gain weight

Please, is there any problem if its not in v shape

How does these arm implants help in contraception? Like what it actually does? How does it prevent pregnancy?
The rods slowly release a hormone called progesterone that prevents pregnancy -- by preventing the release of eggs from the ovaries (ovulation) and thickening cervical mucus (this blocks sperm from reaching an egg).

Why must it be at the left hand side?
The implant is inserted in the non-dominant arm -- so depends if you are right or left handed.
Please teach removal.

The same question I was to ask
the area is numbed so you won't feel it being inserted. watch the woman's face.. she is not in pain.
Is n't Painful
the provider will give local anesthesia so it should not be painful.
Thanks
