I’m sure there are plenty of off camera moments but I’m consistently amazed by Harvey’s positivity. Wet, cold, tired…he just keeps pushing forward. Little Man is tougher than most adults I know.
I’m going to say it one more time!!! LittleMan I am going to miss seeing you in these videos 😏. I hope your Dad and Mom continue making videos so we can watch how you grow into a BigMan. 💪. You are one amazing boy and should be SOOO proud of yourself. Hike on LittleMan and I will watch you to the end. 😭❤️
Back in January, while on vacation from our home in Wyoming, we stayed at the Lodge at Amicalola Falls and hiked the approach trail to the AT at Springer Mtn. My husband showed me an entry in the log book about a family beginning their hike with their four year old. Admittedly, my first thought was "who in their right mind would attempt this hike with a child so young?!" By chance, a few days later, we found ourselves at Neels Gap to hike Blood Mtn. and saw the family that I was sure was the Suttons. (Harvey - do you remember the race cars?) I didn't want to approach them, but I was able to quietly observe Harvey from a distance. He was all geared up against the weather (blowing snow) but had such a calm, confident demeanor that I turned to my husband and said " that kid is going to make it." After returning home and finding the videos, we have continued to follow their journey. I think everyone who has watched Harvey all these months, recognize that he is truly a very special young (Little) man. I was in tears today knowing that this incredible journey is coming to an end, but I believe this is only the beginning for Harvey and his parents. Thanks for taking us all along for the ride, I will never forget it.

Harvey, when you hit those moments in life, and we all do, when you think you can’t do something, remember…..you hiked 2193 miles through snow as deep as you are tall, across rivers, up mountains and down rockfalls, all the way to Katahdin. Little Man, you can do anything. I am so proud of you.❤️🥾
I am very proud of all of yall. Through these videos, we have watched each of you grow and become stronger, not just physically, but mentally also. You are creating memories with your child that will never be forgotten. You have become closer with nature as well as each other. Immensely enjoying your videos. Early on I thought dad to be a little too positive and maybe obnoxious at times, but I’ve learned to love all you guys…. Even dad.
The more I watch the more beautiful your family becomes. Almost don’t wanna see your documentary because you might be portrayed as more special than the regular people you were just hiking the trail a day at a time.
Oh well, that’s what stardom is all about. Right? You will make us laugh, make us cry, and lead us to wonder how you ever made it from beginning to end on the AT.

I have followed the journey but waited to comment. It has been nothing short of joy and amazement to watch such a wonderful family - an incredible son and incredible parents. A model for us all. I thru-hiked in 2018. For those unfamiliar with a thru-hike, it is much much harder than the Suttons made it look. Truly an epic adventure. Someone should weave your amazing videos into a full-length movie. Thank you for sharing your adventure. I'm better for having seen what family means. Godspeed..

Waited to watch this as I don’t want it to come to an end. Always another great video! I can’t get over Harvey’s energy and ability to navigate the trail while running. He is utterly amazing especially for a five year old. I hope he does the trail again as a “big” man - the perspective would be entertaining for sure. Needless to say I am excited for your final video THE ASCENT!!.

What a cool experience to have as a 5 yr old! I bet any difficulties Harvey has in his life will seem small compared to this incredible journey he had as a kid. I have really enjoyed watching your adventure and hope some day you do another thru hike! Congrats and thanks for sharing it with us!

Sugarman's commentary is so funny. His Steve Irwin impression is hilarious I can't imagine how it felt to cross that 2100 mark Love the paddle revision and the beautiful trip around the lake. Those views are incredible, love all the ponds and lakes. Blueberries and PB sound great. I can't imagine how you felt seeing Khatadin. Cassie's expressions of how proud she is of all of you, being the one that gets to see her dreams come true just filled my heart. I know I've said it a bunch of time but I'm so in awe, proud, excited, and happy for you guys all that you've accomplished and getting to the end. It's been great to follow your adventures, see you in NH, and hope to catch up with you when you get home. We still have Harvey's Moose Call :-)

Tomorrow is Monday. Not sure if it’s THE Monday for climbing Katahdin or if that climb is already history. Either way it’s been a privilege to follow you on your journey. Harvey is the coolest little kid. I think of all the times I took to kids to the mall and had to carry their coats or them because they were “too tired” and Harvey was out there every day carrying his pack and scampering up those trails. A special little man. Safe climb tomorrow. Can’t wait to see it.

By the time comment is posted, assuming you have already summited. It’s a life lesson to set a goal and be humbled and proud (two emotions can co-exist) for meeting the challenge.
I’m a section hiker (more of a paddler) but did Katschinski few years ago. It’s a joy to relive with you guys.

I am taking my brother and niece to Baxter to hike Katahdin 8/17 while I explore Katahdin Lake with my sister-in-law who is not an avid hiker. I’m hoping she will experience the serenity and magic of this glorious place and we can do other hikes as well. I can’t wait to see your final summit video and I wish I was there to congratulate you all. I did witness thru hiker Buck finish his AT nobo on 7/15 and it was amazing! Happy Hiking

Just began watching and enjoying your AT journey. So inspiring! Harvey proves we all come from a place of perfect enlightenment. He is not polluted by imperfect people. I live minutes from the AT at The HIghland Center here at the base of Mt Washington. Would have been honored to meet all of you and with a big log home would have invited you to stay with dinner and a big country breakfast too! KEEP GOING!!!
