I have Both presses and got the same results. I prefer the cricut mug press it’s worth the price!
Thank you for chiming in! Glad (?) to know it's not just my Amazon press. What a bummer, though!
Great video! Thanks for the in depth comparison...very helpful!
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for this Awesome in depth and easy to understand tutorial! Very good presentation!
Thank you! Glad it was helpful.
I need to use it more but I love my cricut mug press
I really do love mine as well!
I have subscribed. I love all the information and tips you gave. I had so many questions and you answered a lot of them. I do have a couple more, if you please. What would be a good printer for sublimation? I saw on your channel that you have the Epson EcoTank Sublimation Printer. Where is the best place to get sublimation blanks.
I have been recommending the Brother SP1 sublimation printer lately th-cam.com/video/93PUh14w-IM/w-d-xo.html. And I buy blanks all over the place -- Amazon, Heat Transfer Warehouse, Craft Express, etc.
@@HeyLetsMakeStuff Thank you for your response. Right now, I'm trying to figure out how to cover mugs that already have printing on them where you won't be able to see the printing and still make them dishwasher safe. I don't know if it's possible. Thanks again.
I definitely need all that info. Please..
Thanks for the thorough review. I am keen on a cricut mug press but does it do tumblers too?
It's not designed to, but you can use something like this to hack it: amzn.to/3V1WlmI. That being said, if you want to do tumblers and mugs, I would probably get a tumbler press that can do both: th-cam.com/video/brsQMIvNuJA/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the comparison. The Cricut mug press has been on my wish list just price hurts in Canada...at 270$ plus tax takes me over 300$. I do like the finer edge and safety protocols of Cricut. Do you know if buying second hand if Cricut would brick it? Or is the bricking only if there was an issue and the person was sent a replacement?
Yes, I think it would only be an issue if it was replaced (and even then, I'm not sure...bricking is one of those things that's talked about but no one really knows for sure how often it actually happens).
My experience with stuff from China knockoffs is they don’t last. They tend to burn out quicker. Everything is made in China these days but when they’re manufactured to a company’s specs, it makes a difference IMO (I.e. iPhone)
Definitely.
I am new to mug making and have not made one of my own yet. One question I have which may be a bit naive is, once you've created these mugs with your own design using the Cricut Mug Press, are these mugs able to be washed in a dishwasher or will it ruin the ink and pattern that has been pressed onto it? Thank you in advance for any advise on this.
You can wash mugs made with sublimation or Infusible Ink! Just don't wash them on sanitize -- that can get hot enough to fade the ink.
All my sublimation mug photos are dark.. could it be the press I use? They look perfect on my laptop but when I press them on the mug they're dark.
I use sawgrass 500 , canva & cricut mug press
Have you tried pressing them to other blanks?
@HeyLetsMakeStuff Yes everything is fine except mug " photos"
Thanks for the info. I may have missed it, but how many layers of butcher paper do you recommend?
I do two layers :)
Thanks for the comparison video. I have the Cricut mug press & love. Like the print , cut & go, without having to worry about settings. Only con is the size, if you need it for other types of mug, tumblers, etc.
Definitely. I wish Cricut would come out with a tumbler press that also works with mugs!@@gerrywolfe2549
Are you able to use htv in the mug press?
It's not recommended with the mug press because the temperature is very hot. With the bargain mug press, though, you might be able to using the power temperature setting. Something to test!
