- सच तो यही है कि हिंदी में ग़ज़ल न तो कहना आसान है और न ही लिखना, इसलिए जब दुष्यंत कुमार त्यागी, यानी कि दुष्यंत कुमार की बात आती है तो हिंदी भाषा को समर्पित महीना और दुष्यतं कुमार के जन्म का महीना एक ही हो जाता है, यानी बात है सितंबर के एक और सपूत की, एक ऐसे साहित्यकार की, जिसने हिंदी के माथे से यह आरोप मिटा दिया कि हिंदी में ग़ज़ल नहीं कही जा सकती, क्योंकि ग़ज़ल में मीटर, पैमाने, नुक़्ते वग़ैरह का बहुत बारीक़ ख़्याल रखना होता है। इसी के चलते उन्हें हिंदी का पहला ऐसा कवि माना गया, जो हिंदी ग़ज़ल का पहला विकास पुरुष कहलाता है। हिंदी के ही साहित्यकार शमशेर बहादुर सिंह के बाद हिंदी काव्य का, हिंदी ग़ज़ल का मिज़ाज बदलने का श्रेय इन्हीं को जाता है, जहां आकर ग़ज़ल अपना मिज़ाज बदलकर यथार्थवादी हो जाती है। सो इस बार ‘द वायर’ पर ‘हिंदी की बिंदी’ में ज़िक्र है जाने-माने कवि, गीतकार, ग़ज़लकार ‘दुष्यंत कुमार’ का।

Dushyant Kumar was 100% an Urdu poet. Just writing his Urdu poetry in Devanagari cannot make him a Hindi poet.
