Truly an architectural gem! Thanks for posting.
It is! Thanks!
Thank you
Yes, that's a griffin, symbol of Wales. Peyton may have been from Wales originally, or perhaps had ancestors from there. Great video! Aquia Church has always been on my must-see list but I've just never made it there yet.
Enjoyed the video and tour of the grounds and beautiful church - excellent. Always enjoy the drone footage. Thank you for sharing.
Thanks!!
Beautiful church, and so well kept up. The drone footage was great, really showed off the symmetry of the building!
Thanks! Yea perfect Georgian Church
It's 2-story because of the gallery, aka balcony. I'm guessing it's on 3 sides. From what I've heard, the cemetery or burial ground that surrounds or is behind the church is called the churchyard. But other terms are used as well. I'm in South Jersey, and we have a few old Colonial churches, ranging from a Presbyterian church of 1767 to a Baptist church of 1801, all with great architecture. But I've never seen a church in the Greek cross shape like that. That's very interesting.
Still have not seen that Presbyterian church in Ftedericksburg
