Can you do the same with PS2's? I've been waiting for someone to upload this type of videos, i think things like the frame rate (in GT4, replay) could be tested or something like that

Definitely an interesting test here, although with only 1 of each console it's hard to rule out individual console differences rather than the model-specific ones. I imagine stuff like the 20-something year old laser quality/wear would probably be a bigger factor for disc load times than just the model, even when booting to BIOS cause of how long it'd need to take to check that there's no disc inserted
Every console's laser has been cleaned out with 99% Isopropyl multiple times before making these footages, also each console had multiple restarts on the startups and I've only uploaded the best startups I could get with these consoles. Lasers are WAY too fine on all of them, they don't make any weird noises or get stuck when they should be moving.
But yeah like you said, can't really fix worn-out laser... They all survived it's era, I just did the best I could to make this video with all of them running close to perfect.
@@BK4 Yeah there's only so much you can do without consoles straight out of the factory lmao, good work trying to get them all cleaned first though

Oh my! It's the same TV that my sister did have until 2011!
It was really annoying to see the *E1 1* OSD during gameplay and the number of the channel during TV watching without even having an option to remove said indication (while the one grandma that is still alive used to have - until 2011 - another model of the same TV manufacturer that I believe didn't have that number always in the screen).
Obviously I was mentioning 2011 since we passed to digital in that year and we upgraded the TV with new 16:9 aspect ratio DTVs
But... what happens if we put GT2000 in them?

i recently got my first PS1 a few days ago for 17 bucks, it is a 900x model and it works just fine! it even included a modchip wich the seller didn´t know existed! Glad to see i got a good deal and that the revision is among the best
I got one free a few years ago, and it works great. I go to peoples homes everyday as an internet installer and customers always give me free stuff, I also got a Dreamcast for free. In both cases, the son moved out and left them there. Older parents just said take it lol

I have 1001, 7501, and 9001. Would be interesting to try a comparison like this for those three someday, as they hit an interesting range-- the first, the supposed best, and the last. It'd be interesting to see how other titles load up on those three, especially any games that may be considered more demanding.

I never knew there were that many variants i saw this. It also made me bother to look at my PS1’s to see the exact models. I have an 101, with a fat screen that i had for as long as i can remember and a 9001.

I have two PSOnes. They're the cutest consoles ever imho, and you can't go wrong with the PS1 game library, although I think the Dreamcast is a close contender on both aspects.

Not really, i don't see the Black NetYaroze, the rare Blue PS1, Green ps1 and red ps1. As well as the devkits with double the ram. Insert nerd emoticon here. All jokes aside, the ps1 still is the best console in my heart.
Why did they go back to the older PSX menu on the newest psone? Is way worse looking than the blue one.

I have SCPH5552 but his laser is dead so I getting used 7002. A lot of good memories with Crash 3 Warped, Gran Turismo 2, Rayman the great escape, bugs life, colin mc rae 2.0......
I personally have an SCPH-9002. I think the last few phat models are the best and people should avoid the 100x and 550x models as much as possible

@Hugo Guidon Well, they're *very* unreliable. Sometimes they'll stop reading discs or skip FMVs, I know this because of personal experience because my childhood PS1 is an early 1002 model.

Now i understand why there's so many different Bios on the Internet for the PS1 Emulation. I was always wondering why the Hell there's so many different Bios and which should i chose? Now i understand why because there are so many different Models.
I have a 9001 and a 5501 that is having a hard time reading discs and it’s loud, might have to mod it and eliminate the optical drive

When I was 5 years old I got a PsOne, that was my first console and I still have it today, but the lens don't work and I don't have the original "charger" (forgot the word), so I use one from a ps2 that is 1 volt higher. Is this secure?

SCPH-1001 and -1002 isn't "one of the first Playstations ever made".
The very first Playstation that were ever made was the SCPH-1000 of the Japanese region with s-video. Later the SCPH-3000 model came out without s-video and this model was sold in US and Europe as 1001 and 1002

I have a model called "PS one" (SCPH-102) and the laser doesn't feel like to read the discs. I would like to have a fat model.

So the test results - it doesn't matter lol, they're all nearly the same.
And it's highly variable considering things like laser's strength that may diminish as the PS1 is getting older. If there's some sort of hard disk solution existing for PS1 and you can load games on it, it would've been easier to compare.
