Especially in the Civilian sector. Nobody wants to hear that but it is SO FUCKING TRUE, we are held to RIDICULOUS STANDARDS in the US. Military just so everyone's comfy ass back in the US can walk around with a chip on their shoulder with ZERO CONSEQUENCES.
In the US. Marine Corps? If you think we have no accountability? THINK AGAIN. We are held to the HIGHEST STANDARDS, and we do have CONSEQUENCES unlike back in the "States."
We fuck up or do some shit we aren't supposed to be doing or say the wrong shit at the wrong time and not stay in our lanes? IT'S OUR FUCKING ASSESS.

Wow.. solid interview. You really hit some sensitive, potentially controversial topics, but you managed to avoid sensationalizing them and you approached them thoughtfully and really made some great points along the way. Great pick for the debut episode -- Jay seems like a really solid dude, and his story is full of vital lessons for young folk considering a military career, or those who are considering or approaching a transition to civilian life. Good work to all those involved, congrats to FNG on this debut episode, looking forward to many more, and good luck and continued success to all of y'all in the future.

I love this type of content, first because I've always loved history, and military/War movies but also because my dad, uncle, and older brother were in the military (Dad and uncle 'Marines', Older brother 'Army') so I really care about what vets have gone through and the fact that services should be better at the VA and why no one seems to be able to fix the problems. I love the movie 'We Were Soldiers' and one day I called my uncle because he and my dad were in Vietnam and both are still dealing with PTSD and anxiety issues. I asked him if he had seen the movie and if so what he thought about it. He said he had and even as bad as the movie shows and it's one of the few movies that's gotten the closest to the feel of war, it was even worse than what the movie showed and that he's happy that they made the effort to try to be true to the events, there just not ever going to be able to get it completely right because the horror of combat just can't be shown and felt though a movie or tv screen.

What a freakin' epic, raw, necessary discussion in all facets, specifically on the topic of women in SF. When I learned about copulins, the pheremones produced by ovulating women that literally affect the brains of men to want to reproduce with her, I fully understood that the reasons to not integrate are compounded and complex. Often the motivation to do a thing is about something to prove, not because we want to do the thing for the sake of the thing. In that, the motivation is self-centered and doesn't consider the needs of others, in this case the men in SF, and the mission at large. We see that within a lot of demographics including race and sex, throughout movements in the US. I "deserve" to be there because I want to be, to hell with your bias or resistance to me being there. So yes, for fairness, the option has to be offered to all, but the onus is on women to consider the big picture and how our presence affects men not just psychologically but biologically. You can do it, but do you have to?
And thank you for the vulnerable approach to the traumas you endured. You're going to help so many. Sending so much healing energy to you both. ✊🏾💪🏾🖖🏾

It’s a shame, my experience in the British parachute regiment was rough nil support and tried everything they could to see me fail me being the only black man on the parade square. That just drove me forward certain characters made life hard. My dream was 9 squadron & maybe on to SF but realised in England for a black man that would be a none starter given our experience here it would always affect unit cohesion in some way. To say there’s Isn’t any is a lie. And to write somebody up because of that chip on their shoulder instead of mentoring, guiding and molding them to become a part of the team to look toward the goal is a travesty.

A lot of the times, people like that aren’t well-rounded in their fitness. While they might be strong, they might not have the cardiovascular strength to keep up with the endurance. I’m no Greek god either, I don’t have abs. But I can run 5 miles in under 30 minutes and can do 80 push ups and 20+ pull ups. It’s not so much body type as it is mental endurance

Not to beat a dead horse but I supported Crenshaw until he dissed Goggins. Then Crenshaw doubles down and turns his back on Gallagher. Crenshaw has definitely drank the political kool aid. 22:52

My biggest issue is he’s burning an entire community for decisions that were made by politicians & flag officers for recruiting purposes. For example. A admiral told Marcus a book was coming out in his name pretty much, they picked the writer and arranged every detail. Same thing happened with Blackhawk down the movie . People don’t understand every movie you see is for recruiting. The brass doesn’t give a damn about failures or dead troops. All they care about is glorifying war, for recruiting. Act of valor, the company, 12 strong, zero dark thirty, Blackhawk down, Charlie sheen navy seals, delta force 1980s. All of these movies were ordered by DOD . So I feel it’s incredibly unfair to hold the young guys accountable for what a flag officer tells them. I would like to see you tell a 4 star “hell no”. They used some pretty insane intimidation techniques on the guys that pushed back. -- in a all volunteer military you gotta do books, movies, tv shows. --
The only unit that would do some secret stuff is Army special forces because they perform overthrows via locals. that’s a sensitive mission set.-- where the door kicking units Delta, Devgru, Rangers, Raiders, seals, PJ, CCT, SR. You want them to be known because it’s a deterrence. But really it will be public post op. If it’s really a secret the CIA sog will handle it. Or cia will just fund a Terrorist group. Like Israel funds hamas. When the slogan quiet professional was created that was a different era. Post Vietnam you will never have guys doing missions like that. Today we just fund groups so nobody can pin it on the us gov.
Chuck norris was approached by dod to make a movie about delta. With a couple of delta operators on set. The hope was, we need to give the terroist something to fear! We were extremely uneasy they would start taking hostages weekly if they didn’t have any obstacles.

Special Operations isn’t gonna wipe away your sins, fill the voids and holes in your life. It’s is, as all military service is… a sacrifice

If you don't want a public after action review on social media don't put your actions out on social media.
Once you break the silence of the quiet professional you no longer get to tell public opinion to be silent unless they served in that capacity.
And you certainly don't get to tell other professionals they're wrong for conducting a public after action review once you've put your actions out into the public spotlight.

Interesting that Jay discriminated against Afro-Americans due to a perception the same way and manner that discrimination works against Afro-American by others. Not performance but attitude or the perception of an attitude. He was looking for it, and of course found it and then eliminated based upon his preconceived notion.

There’s definitely racist people at Group, like anywhere else. Dismissing someone based on a conversation when there may be truth to it seems like an overcorrection. I do understand what he’s saying though. Cole world.
