Welcome To The Frontlines [Hartford] E6/S1 "Outside For Real"

In 2014 then Connecticut Governor Dannel Malloy set an aggressive goal to eradicate homelessness in the state by 2020. By 2018 the state had met aggressive goals and set impressive benchmarks - becoming the first state in the nation to end chronic homeless of veterans and connecting every chronically homeless person in the state with housing. But by the second year of the Covid-19 induced pandemic, homelessness was on a clear and visible rise. After a shutdown of shelters and a limit on essential services, the Hartford Fasttrak and areas throughout the city have become havens of the drug exchange as well as home to hundreds of unhoused people. In this episode we detail the realities of living in shadows of the frontlines.
