On June 25th Martin was called out about a Golden Eagle. He and Susan rushed out to meet the people who called about the eagle. They met them on the edge of town where the eagle was in the back of their car. They had been in area where they could not call, so put the eagle in their car.
Martin noted they were very lucky not to have been injured. The eagle was too weak to put up a fight. It is generally best to leave the animal be and note down as much information as possible to share with those trained to handle the animals.
After examining the Golden Eagle, Martin saw it was a youngster, maybe 12 weeks old and still growing feathers. Back at the rescue center, the young eagle perked up slightly, enough to take down a small meal. Martin kept a close eye on the eagle throughout the night. The next day, he put food in with the eagle to see if he would be able to feed himself. It took some time, but eventually, the eagle did "pull" his own food. Recovery looks likely though Scout will have a young neighbor for awhile, possibly until August.

🔺 Our Mission 🔺
Founded in 1997 in Cedar City Utah, we are a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to wildlife rescue, rehabilitation and education.
🔹Rescue, Rehabilitate and Release 🔹
The Southwest Wildlife Foundation of Utah (SWF) cares for more than 100 sick, injured and orphaned native wildlife annually. Restoring them to health and returning them to the wild is our primary goal.
🔹 Informing, Educating and Inspiring 🔹
The SWF provides over 100 educational programs reaching over 30,000 people annually. We believe providing educational outreach programs to schools, scout groups and community events, with focus on children and families, will make the greatest impact in preserving our wildlife, the environment, our public lands and our resources for future generations to enjoy.
🔹 Martin Tyner 🔹
Since age twelve, with a bird on his arm, Martin has captivated audiences sharing his knowledge and experience of his wildlife friends.
At age nineteen, Martin was hired as curator of birds of prey at Busch Gardens, CA. He also worked in the movie and television industry training big cats, elephants, primates, sea mammals and raptors.
“One of my greatest childhood fantasies was the desire to create a personal friendship with a wild eagle. I found myself with a love and fascination for these powerful creatures.”
Martin Tyner is a federally licensed falconer, eagle falconer, wildlife rehabilitator, wildlife propagator, and wildlife and environmental educator.
He has been providing wildlife and environmental programs throughout the western United States, to schools, scouts and community groups for over fifty years.
“Grandpa believed in a very simple philosophy; that a person should get up every morning and do good. Doing good means that you do well for others and doing well means that you do good for yourself. There is nothing wrong with doing well, but Grandpa always believed in doing good.”

So beautiful to watch, thank you so much for resqueing him. 👌👍😃🇳🇱
What a blessing you are to these majestic birds.
Baby. very cute.
What happens when people like Martin aren't here one day? The world needs more like him...
There are a whole lot of people who help us help critters!
A lot of kids and young people watch these videos. I'm not concerned about the future.
When one person like him leaves, there will be two to replace him. I definitely want to get into helping animals, I use to help small birds and crows, when I was young, but adulthood got in the way, and you have to work for a living. 😐
Maybe he could train interns: veterinarian students.
It is a bleak future. I live in Ontario and was just incontact with a wildlife place. They were not taking anymore birds for the next while. They have been over run because 2 other rescuers shut down last year. The lady was heartbroken she had to make that choice. But they run it on their own money and no one is offering to help. So as of now there is no one in the lower half of Ontario to help. Just like the rest of us this year has been awful for wildlife. You never realize just how much animals depend on us dirty humans to survive.
So grateful for this guy. More people need to be trained to save these eagles.
I'm relieved that the people who found this poor little guy weren't injured and had the presence of mind to call for help as soon as they got a signal. Good on them and always good on you for taking such amazing care of those beautiful creatures.
We're glad things are looking better for this young eagle!
You are indeed the paramedics, the ER doctors and the pharmacist for these beautiful creatures. God bless you 🙏🙏🙏
Thank you for your interest!
I love how sweetly Martin speaks to the birds.
Martin abd Susan you are just so wonderful helping these poor injured Eagles you both are such a blessing thank you both for all youre doing❤️
This is HANDS DOWN the best video on birds of prey that I've EVER seen!!! And Martin's compassion... his kindness of heart... his DEEP love and respect for these majestic animals is ABSOLUTELY heartwarming. I'd thought that I was totally alone in my love and regard for animals. I talk to them. I ALWAYS use terms of endearment toward them, and people... most people think me crazy. And I don't care what people think of me one way or the other.
But I couldn't help but break down and cry tears of pure and unadulterated joy watching Martin work with this eagle. It was just overwhelmingly beautiful and wonderful to me.
I hope that you, Martin, will allow us to witness his release back to the wild. That'll be PHENOMENAL!!!!
You actually thought you were alone having love and regard for wild animals? You know there are over 7 Billion people on this planet so chances are someone else will love & respect wild animals besides you.
How did I miss this remarkable rescue..?? We are so blessed that you both are so compassionate! Thank you Susan and Martin. Feeling blessed with you caring for all critters 😘🌹‼️
Martin’s way of life is rare and lovely way of life
Thank you for your interest!
Awww....he was so happy to get that food....Martin and Susan you are wonderful people.....GOD bless you for the work you do❤

I am from the U.K but just wanted to say Thank you 🙏 for the great work you do in saving these wonderful birds
I could watch these rescue videos all day long! Martin , you are as soothing for us as you are for them! Thank you. I wonder if he got pushed out of the nest by his larger sibling?
"If you come any closer, I'm going to hurt you. O, how wonderful is that!"
It made me smile, the way you said it. I fully understand, you want them to be fierce. It sounded like a father concerned for its offspring. I LOVE it. Thank you so much for your wonderful work.
Are you coping with the pandemic?
It's a sressful time for them
Poor sweetie... He was so hungry... Thank you for saving those majestic creatures ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you for your interest
Allow me from Portugal to thank you for the good you do to animals ... that beautiful eagle without your help would have died ... and the world without these beautiful beings would not have the beauty it has ... I cried a lot, I thought I wasn't going but you are a great Professional ... may God give you twice what you give them all ... thank you for everything ... I cried ... in pain and joy when I saw that she recovered. ..that your work is beautiful ..
Thank you for your interest
I love the way Martin talks to the birds. With such love and understanding.
so much respect for Martin and his wife, ready day and night to save these beautiful animals.
RESPECT RESPECT
Thank you for your interest and kind words
omg thank you to whoever called it in. They saved this precious baby's life.
Agreed!
Nice to see he has very healthy appetite from the start, he is a fighter and a survivor
Agreed!
This talons appear to be powerful even when they’re young...
The way he talks to that baby, shows the love he has for them. What a wonderful and beautiful thing he does saving these majestic birds of prey. (and THEY do in saving them). The last video was a very sad one. I love that this one has a happy ending ❤️
Thank you for your interest. Martin has found that a calm soothing voice helps ease their stress during captivity
DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEPEST respect for dedicating your life to rescuing birds of prey....you are a truly BEAUTIFUL soul who does a truly wonderful thing...THANK YOU sir :-)
Martin -thank you for your dedication. I’m glad you mentioned that bird talons are razor sharp. It’s true! In my case, I touched a baby raccoon. His claws sliced right thru my hand, I developed endocarditis. I had a thoracotomy w/ mechanical aortic valve. I’ll be on Coumadin forever. But, I really luv animals! I’m fascinated by eagles. Your videos are excellent.
They can be harmful for sure
You’re the true angel come from haven to help the beautiful animals !🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏❤️
We call him Healer of Angels
How is our young Golden Eagle doing? Today is July 25th. I had the fortunate blessing of learning falconry at the St. Paul raptor center back in 1998. I moved away from MN but working with raptors will always remain a sacred honor and blessing in my heart and life. Thank you for being of service to our great winged friends!
The eagle is doing fine
Great to hear! Thank you for responding 🙏🏼😁
What a Blessing you are Martin to these beautiful birds! God Bless you!
Thank you Pamela, a whole lot of people help us help critters!
The love Martin has for these birds is so sweet
He's a critter guy!
You really get an appreciation for the birds when you see them hurting. Thanks for nursing them and taking care of them.
Captivity is very stressful for them. They just want to get away and back into the wild where they belong.
The poor baby sure was hungry! Even through the stress of captivity, he was gobbling those mice down like crazy! Thank you for all that you do!
It was good to see him eat!
I’m so glad they listened to their hearts instead of their friends. I’m sure their friends were thinking that it would best to leave nature alone, as that’s what a lot of us are taught, but we should intervene if at all possible.
I was fortunate enough to be off today and catch this video right away. I just have no words...I love the babies, even the big babies! My heart melted when you fed him his first meal after rescue. I hope this finds you well and healthy so you can continue to care for Gods creatures!
Thank you Gina, we're glad you enjoyed! Definitely a big baby!
That was nail biting waiting for him to go to the food. Bless your heart! And thank you to the men who made the call. It feels good to be able to help an animal in need. We need more humans like that.
Good to see him eat!
You are such a wonderful man. Thank you for caring so passionately about these wonderful birds.
Thank you for your interest. A whole lot of people help us help critters
Thank you for your interest and kind feedback
What a beautiful eaglet! Thank you for all you do!!! I love watching your videos!
Thank you, we're glad you are enjoying the videos
Hi again MARTIN &SUSAN
Yes a good good morning Martin! Thank goodness those people called you in the nik of time! Wonderful to see him on his feet and responding as he should. Those young ones just can't make it when separated from the mom as they still are so dependent. Thx so much for sharing. Nice job taping Susan!
Thanks CC, we're glad they called too!
“You’re going to threaten me huh? Oh, that’s wonderful.” Love this guy! He’s a raptor whisperer.
We call him Healer of Angels
I like that. His successor could use that title and start replacing all those air gun videos in the top listed.
Poor baby was starving. I'm glad Martin has him/her now.
What a Beautiful Bird..Ty 4 taking great care of these gorgeous creatures...🦅🙏💖
What a great good news story. Thank you for sharing. I understand why you say don't pick these birds up but I am grateful that, that couple did and had the foresight to call you when they had a signal. Grateful for a good news story! Thank you!
Thank you for your interest. Eagles can do a lot of damage if not handled correctly.
@@GowildlifeOrg I know, thanks your videos.
I love being able to observe your care for all the birds and see how they progress back to health. Thank you!
Thank you Sandra, we're glad you are enjoying our videos
Your so gentle and loving. You can tell you love what you do.
How this guy still has all his fingers is a miracle.
Still ten plus his face...
He’s in wonderful hands now.
Thank you.
Thank you for your interest!
Another beautiful rescue. I'm sure in this boy's own (eagle) way, he's thanking you for giving him a shot to live his best life!
Captivity is very stressful to the animals. They just want to get back to the wild where they belong.
I know this is a very late comment...new phone. Finally. But, I'm just wondering, (if anyone sees this to answer), was there a reason that Martin didn't take the syringe filled with the fluid/nutrition along with him when he went to get the eagle? It was apparent that the poor bird needed rapid treatment. In this case, it didn't make a difference, but if time were, literally, critical, wouldn't it have been better to have had the filled syringe along to begin immediate nutritional support?
You, sir are a dear dear friend to all the animals you have been feeding, caring. Thank you so much for your compassion to these animals. On some that you have lost, I literally cried. I know what it is to care for animals then lose them. God bless you.
thanks to the man who was willing to help even though he should have marked instead of picking him up but he managed to give water to the eagle and shame on the mans mates to say just leave it to die
We're glad they called and glad they didn't get hurt.

love his little chirps, its like he is saying "i'm big and scary and will eat you, or my mom will at least"
He's a fighter!

Thank you for all you do Martin!...
What a gorgeous boy I have to say working with them and seeing them up close and personal was the best thing in the world I definitely have a healthy respect for our BOP.
They are amazing for sure
Great rescue, glad to see he was off the desert floor and saw progression of feeding. Your place looks great ,you have advanced alot this last 2tyrs. Always many blessings.
He's a fighter!
Compassionate input Martin. 50 years of service toward rehabilitation of these magnificent, yet misunderstood, raptors is truly amazing and challenging I'm sure. Martin you, and your team of rehabilitators and volunteers, most probably transmit a sense of peacefulness and good karma around these birds of prey. Good luck toward your fulfillment of creature care, capture and release.
Thank you! A whole lot of people help us help critters!
Love this little guys personality.
He's a fighter!
I just watched a video from you that had a very sad ending so I decided to watch this hoping for a better out come for the eagle and for you. I KNEW how heartbroken you were in the previous video and this made MY heart soar for both of you. Thank you for never giving up!
Thank you for your interest
How wonderful!!! Thank you to the people who found this baby and thank you so so so much for saving him! 😍
So happy to see the little guy doing well! Such great work you do! Thanks for sharing it with us!
Thanks Fran!
Martin is so patient with the people who want to just chit chat and he wants to save the eagle. Good man.
I think you're an amazing human being! Thank you!
Thank you for your interest and kind words
What a cutie!! So glad he’s doing better and I’m surprised he de-furred that and was eating by himself so quickly after arriving there! I hope he’ll recover 100%
We hope so too!
You're so kind with the baby! 💖
Hi Martin, you indeed are a very special guy with no doubt a special job you are undertaking to look after and care for these beautiful birds and other animals. Awesome job and thank you. 🙏🙏🙏🙏👍👍🇬🇧
Thanks Mohammed, we appreciate your interest in the critters!
I love pigeons, rabbits, and quails but respect the fact that eagles and other raptors can only eat meat. It's the way it is. I love that Martin and Susan help and rescue these beautiful raptors. Thank you Martin and Susan for helping these beautiful creatures!!! Love, big hugs, birdie kisses. Barb, Beenie, Baby spirit :)))
We love pigeons, rabbits and quails too! Martin's first pet was a pigeon.

God bless you for all that you do for these magnificent and majestic animals!
You do superb work, hope you're all doing well
Thank you! We hope all is well with you too!
We need a lot more skilled people like you & your wife, here in Australia. I sat with a Boobook owl for 6 hours, keeping the daylight birds away (that's what alerted me to a problem, squabbling minor birds, butcher birds & magpies) waiting for WIRES. In the end, a neighbor, wondering what I was doing there, came up with a net & box. He'd worked with large birds before. I got a text a week later to say the wildlife people had successfully released the young owl, it's such a great feeling to know the animal you rescued is now free. I always carry scissors with me too due to all the birds we've had to cut fishing line or string off.
Releases are the best part!
Your the best. Every video of yours I see gets me teared up. Good job.
Thank you for your interest, we're glad you are enjoying our videos!
I love that you left the camera in there for us! He’s so precious🥲

It's always nice to see them eat so eagerly on their own. Gives good hope that they will make it.
Thank you so much for helping this little guy 💕
Thank you Margie, we appreciate your interest!
I love the devotion and respect these majestic bird deserve. Living on the Oregon Coast I see lots of eagles and there are a few nests in our areas. I never get over just how big these birds are. Thanks you sir, for being their benefactor.

Hi Martin, when you mentioned the goals of rehab, not just wild, but free, also to be wary of (most) humans. Your work, as always, above and beyond. Thank you.
Hi Patricia, thank you for your interest. Most wildlife innately fear humans.
How exciting that he was strong enough to eat on his own! I hope you filmed the release! I would imagine it either has already happened or is coming up very soon at this point. I would love to hear an update! Thank you for all you do for the Golden Eagles and Bald Eagles! God Bless you for caring! 💗💗💗
Soon, soon, we hope!
Just brilliant, thank god there are people like you and your wife to help these baby's, god bless you both,
TH-cam thought I might be interested in your channel and I am! I used to work in a building in San Francisco that had a peregrine nest and cam on the roof. I've been watching that cam for over 20 years, and I follow a Falconer in England who has over 40 raptors and corvids, including a couple of eagles. I can't wait to explore your channel further. I was delighted when Baby Eagle finally tackled the rabbit, leaving a very tidy carpet of fur :) Thank you and I'll be back!
Great to hear, glad you are enjoying our videos!

You can tell you really love birds and what you do. You are so kind and gentle and caring. Love this. I came here by accident and learned something
Thank you for your interest, glad you found us by accident!
How wonderful! I'm so glad the eaglet was fortunate enough to be found (although your warning about touching wild animals is certainly appropriate) AND to be within rescue distance of YOU. You are the Mayo Clinic/Johns Hopkins of wildlife rescue. No, I take that back. You are better, because you don't send your patients a bill. This human is glad to help with her little donation.
Thank you Helene, we appreciate your interest, kind words and support!
Watching this beautiful, gorgeous young eagle eat was SO wonderful!!! Thank you Martin & Susan for ALL you do!!! You definitely have reserved seats in heaven, just hope it's a long time coming. 🙏❤
Thanks Marty, we're glad he's doing well!
