    Game changer. Between this and your breathing hack nothing has affected my performance more, outside of the physical basic skill training. Thanks a ton.

    Very detailed...would this also be true for younger players? Is there a brand that would accomplish all of those points to make it easy to simply mix a scoop with water? I mean you are obviously very knowledgeable, but from the title I was kind of hoping for brands that would be a good choice, not just the science behind it.

      Sorry, it is in our Hockey Nutrition Guide, but I should have included it here. Here it is:
      Carb Powder - bit.ly/36vMJpk
      Protein Powder - bit.ly/2RuUnfg
      EAAs - bit.ly/3aI0LYd

    I have been using BCAA + Vega Sport in water. Based on this I should try EAA blend. I notice a huge difference when following this advice - even tho I have not been doing it exactly as he has suggested. I also try to eat a banana an hour or so before hitting the ice and will take some magnesium supplements as well. Makes a big difference. Since I have been doing this I have no cramps and feel a lot better during and after hockey. Great advice IMHO.

    I put 1/3rd of this mixture in a regular water bottle, and fill the rest of the bottle with water. Then I have enough hydration for one whole period and I repeat the process during intermission.

    great vid. it promted me to look at a poweraid label. seems like the only 2 ingreiants its missing or light on would be ecaa and potasium. would you just recomend adding these into a poweraid?

      I prefer just starting from scratch and making your own for the best results, here's what I recommend:
      Carb Powder - www.atplab.com/product/pentacarb/?ref=621&c=243978f8b175
      Protein Powder - www.atplab.com/product/new-zealand-isolate/?ref=621&c=243978f8b175
      EAAs - atplab.com/product/eaa/?ref=621

    So do we add the carb powder protein powder and the EAA all at once in water bottle during hockey and what do we add for electrolyte option

    • @hockeytraining
      @hockeytraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't add in electrolytes as my preferred carbohydrate source already contains them (seen in the video description). Also, there is no need to combine everything all in one shaker. In an ideal world, you would consume EAA/Carb powder during a game and Protein/Carb powder after the game.

    Kevin,
    Should all of the ingredients listed above be mixed with water, some type of eletrolyte solution like gatorade or should it be mixed with electrolyte powder and water??
    Thanks
    Kevin

      Mix all of the above ingredients with water and make your own solution (rather than purchase Gatorade)

    Hi,
    The products you recommend seem to be available in Canada. I am in the USA. I know that I can order it online and have it shipped to me, but General Nutrition Center (GNC) is much closer. Are there any GNC equivalents that you would recommend or do you not recommend GNC as a place to purchase nutrition supplements from? Thank you in advance for your help and for making this great program available to the public.

    • @hockeytraining
      @hockeytraining  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hey Matt,
      I don't really recommend GNC as a location because the prices are normally high and there is zero educational requirements in order to be a staff member there (so, the recommendations can get ridiculous). For these reasons, I would recommend checking out the products I recommend and then trying to duplicate the ingredient list as much as possible in your area.
