    Just don't take yourself too serious remember you don't have a problem it's them that has the problem. Be professional smile in speed and do your job the best and you'll be fine just fine. If you're being harassed take daily notes and start a diary. You will know when to speak the Bible says in ecclesiastics there's a time for every occasion under the heavens a time to speak and a time to be quiet. God's spirit will tell you when it's your turn to speak

    Social Anxiety is real I got the same issues. People in the workplace prey on that. I try to get jobs where I work independently or with a partner. Night Shift jobs are key, usually less people plus they are easier to get.

    I wouldn't necessarily call our dysfunctional co-workers happy, these people are miserable and project their misery onto others. Much of what you stated is true and I stay clear of these types of people in the workplace. I'm retired military and the sabotage I see at the workplace is sickening to me.

    Seriously bruh thank you, I have a real rage problem, the rage is triggered by lazy, dishonest, people who lack common sense. I can't work with anybody who doesn't hold their own weight/share or the responsibility. I am extremely rational and logical in my thinking and problem solving. I often believe it is not possible to be that stupid, so when I feel as though someone is playing dumb, all of my patience goes out the window. When this happens I feel like I'm being played for a fool.

    That happened to me on 3 of my former places of employment. It's sad to see that so many people are insecure of their abilities and performances in the work place. I pose a threat to most of the co-workers I've worked along side, and they've always found underhanded tactics to push me out.

    At the end of the day, it's just a job and to think of the big picture like family is your main reason to hang in there

  • @derrickshort2070
    @derrickshort2070 6 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    you know what, I can really relate to this. After my son was born I was pretty much dire straights looking for a job. Working for family is a big no no but in hindsight I decided to do what needed to be done to take care of my son. I was honest with the man upfront and told him that my drivers record was messed up and I have no experience in this profession as a technician, however I would be willing to learn. I laid the cards on the table in the beginning. Long story short, I was solo refusing to tell my business to my co -workers. almost every single day they would nit pick about stuff because they could not find out my business. I was always outspoken but this time I decided to keep quiet cause as we all know freedom of speech is no so free anymore. I started paying attention to the things that were going on around me. the boss wife was allowed to be on the computer all day looking at Facebook, and buying things online for herself, but then complain when some of us wasn't working fast enough. the boss daughter was nutty than most as she could be very outspoken about her personal life even discuss politics in a work environment. behold, once I started to be outspoken about things I was labelled as not having respect for female authority which was a bunch of bs

    here is the way i worked it out... i worked for this blue collar company for thirty years...I worked well with the employees ... but some managers felt that i was a threat...no matter where you go and work... you will find some of the same characters through out the work force... so you have to work with them, and they have to show you some respect... and vice versa...otherwise the war will start and you are out... people will run in packs and take care of their own kind first.... remember that... get what you can out of the job... learn and if a chance with your experience... start your own vision job...you can see they do not want your talent... so be smart and use it for yourself...

    Whoa, I reached way back on this one right here Shawn and searched some old vids of yours. Good information brother, one thing that dysfunctional people like to take advantage of on the job is using passive aggressive tactics. HR policies are grizzled when it comes to this as they only cover instantaneous retaliation. They never cover the underlying passive aggressive details whereas people will do things like: cut hours, change schedules, nit pick about time and attendance etc.

    I had this problem.@ a transportation logistics company. Lots of dysfunctional white coworkers and bosses! I worked hard and my white superior who considered himself a devoted Catholic played as thought he liked my work ethic and a few times I worked late and was able to check my personal employment file only to find that this devoted Catholic had lied and documented things. For that whole next week I was very quiet until my paperwork went through for the new job. I had them spooked to the point they thought something was wrong with me. In the end I was able to treat them like I was their boss! Cussed both bosses out and showed them the lies written in the file. THEY COULDN'T BELIEVE THEIR EYES! I WON!
    I also knew something was up when they fired a brother within 3 weeks of me starting and from what I saw he was outperforming whites in the company.
