Thank you so much for a clear informative video. We love learning about the moon in our house and get even more excites about it at the begining of months like Ramadan. Thank you for being part of that excitement for us!

Great to see Royal Observatory linking up with UK Muslims and adding credibility to this subject. This is exactly what we need to establish a UK Islamic Calendar.

Most people follow Saudi Arabia, I think I personally disagree with you , we follow Saudi Arabia 🇸🇦 and nothing wrong with that ... its a shame Muslims are disunited and for they own political views, there will always be a difference in moon sighing...

@@solyas9141 Alhamdulillah, I am pleased that you realised the reality of Saudi Arabia.
In fact, Saudis never told us to follow them. In fact, it's some hardened and religiously Saudi supporters who lead people away from the Sunnah.
I wish the people would acquire religious knowledge to distinguish between the right and wrong.

Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever does this deed, Allaah will cover his shame:
Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: Whoever does this deed, Allaah will cover his shame:
To benefit the people, to please the Muslims, to alleviate their pain, to pay the debt to the debtor and to feed the hungry: Based on the words of the Messenger, sallallaahu 'alayhi wa sallam: “The most beloved man to Allaah is the one who is most useful, while the most beloved deed to Allaah the Almighty is to make the Muslim happy, to alleviate his pain, to pay his debt, to relieve his hunger.
Going with my Muslim brother to take care of him is dearer to me than doing itikaf (alone) in the mosque for a month. Whoever restrains his wrath, Allah will cover his shame. And whoever goes with his Muslim brother to take care of him, Allah will strengthen his feet on the day when his feet will slip. And really bad morals ruin the work, just as vinegar spoils the honey. ” (Albani considers Hasan)

I think it is important to explain that as Saudi Arabia follows the Hanbali Madhab which states that as long as the hilal is sited in any part of the world it's sighting validates the commencement of the next hijri month ....please can someone actually confirm if moon has been able to be sighted anywhere in the world?

Those who think moon sighting should not be science based want to take us back to the dark ages.
How do they to determine time for Fajr or Sehr? Do they go out with a white thread to do that or follow science to tell us what time sunrise and sunset is?
