Ty, you've done an amazing job with this series, I really think it's a shame some network hasn't picked it up yet, absolute TV quality and informative. Keeps me loving the thrill of the hunt, so thank you for your hard work in building this channel and your niche in hobby history!
Would be great on the history channel or something similar to that.... but also know if a network picked it up, they'd edit the heck out of it to create 'drama'... possibly even insist on inserting an additional personality to create conflict. Seems to be doing well on TH-cam and he has full control of the content. *shrug*
Selfishly, I like the show on TH-cam because I know if it was ever picked up by a major network, it would lose its personal touch, it would never be the same.
Yup being from Seattle they have been a staple at SeaFair with the hydroplane races, 1 year the Canadian Snowbirds showed up, cool but not quite BlueAngels
Just finished this episode. Enjoy that more than I was expecting, maybe because the negotiation was uncut. Thanks for keeping some of these in the episode and letting us feel the emotions along you
Awesome collector! Really an encouraging dude. Happy for him, sorry that a collector like Jason is leaving the hobby. Great job bumping up and honoring the efforts and detail he put into his collection. Top notch episode! Plus the Blue Angels!!!
For anyone out there who thinks CC is under cutting some of these sellers, this is a prime example of Ty being generous. I was putting this collection at a ceiling of 25k. Yes, he has a lot of clean autos of HOF's, but there is a specialized market out there for those players and some of those HOF's are hard to move. Not crazy about his love for Plummer and Brunell but to each his own. Good story about his career as a chaplain.
Actually.....I OFTEN think his offers are QUITE GENEROUS frankly. I would offer, most of the times, probably 15% LESS than what CC offers. Call me a bastard..but face it - these sellers make CC take a LOT of garbage cards...that TAKE up tons of space. I'll tell ya, IF I dealt in cards and needed some low grade or average inventory...I'd call CC to make some deals because I KNOW they have tons of low grade stuff that I"m certain they would LOVE to move....and move at a great price.
Thanks for the show Ty - I enjoy them all! What struck me was that I buy, sell and trade DURING my retirement and thoroughly enjoy it. The hobby and the guys in my community provide value for me while retired. I’m a kid again!
omg your reaction after he said $50,000 is a GEM MINT REACTION... you sip the water and then your voice cracks a little when you go to speak.. i love it! thanks for your videos as always!
and if you were to say most of my value is in **CRACK** this **crack voice** part of the collection. :D just teasing you of course but had to say it because my voice would have done the same!
Growing up in Illinois in the 80's all you heard about was the Chicago Bears. We'll for me in the early 90's I became a Buccaneers fan. After they got Mike Alstott though it took it to a whole other level. My daughter as a baby had his jersey to match me. This episode for me touches so many memories for me. Most of my childhood vacations were spent on Pensacola Beach and visiting family in Gulf Breeze. Thank you so much for the amazing video once again. ❤❤
That guy needs his own podcast talking about sports cards! Him and the guy that wrote letters to all the old baseball players. That would be a cool show to listen to. Oh and of course... Chasing Cardboard on the 3rd mic. 😎
Another thoroughly enjoyable episode; well done, CC team! Great hearing about Jason's collection, and the incredible work he has done in serving God and country. He deserves a great retirement. On a side-note... any plans to showcase Tanner's collection? He puts his heart and soul into everything he does, and produces some incredible items (and is a great story-teller too!).
Seeing the Blue Angels do this in person is awesome! I took my family a few years ago when we were staying in the Gulf Shores. My wife was reluctant but loved it ! That wildcat formation at the end when the pilot breaks the sound barrier is wild!
Another wonderful episode. Thank you for including the fact that he was a Navy Chaplain. My brother in law was also in the military. He served as a Chaplain for the Daytona Beach Police Department. Sadly, he is no longer with us but religion played a major role in his life.
Been looking forward to another episode! This episode was very wholesome! I feel you definitely went over what you wanted to spend but either way I hope it’s a win win for both parties. As always excellent episode
Great episode! Fun seeing the Blue Angels. Nice learning about Jason and collecting journey. It was great to see Ty and Jason agree on a price., A win win for both parties. Slightly risky but If Alstott were to make the HOF this deal could pay off big for Wilson’s team. Thanks for sharing and Good Collectibg👍❤️
This guy is like splitting image of me personality wise I use to skate I collect football cards with my dad as a kid and I started again 2 years ago collecting I try to collect it all if I can my best card today I think is my anthony Richardson explosive rookie card
Jim collects what I collect EXACTLY. Rare 90s autos, inserts and parallels of the greats we watched growing up. Which are 100 times better cards in my opinion than todays ultra modern overproduced stuffff.
Had a fire in 2018, lost so many rare Buccaneers Auto"s and Jersey cards but still have a Large Buccaneers collection consisting of thousands of Bucs Auto's and Jerseys cards. I do have some rare Mike Alstott cards including 2 of the 1996 Pinnacle Autos #/25 that dont even sell for $200, What a shame. Alstott 's is undervalued just like most Bucs HOF players. I still have a Brick of some rare Melted Bucs Autographed and Memorabilia cards some hopefully salvageable.
David Robinson is one of my favorite athletes ever, and the most I have in common with. We both were born in Virginia. We both have a faith in Jesus Christ. We both have U.S. Navy connections, just different. We both enjoy playing the saxophone. Only saw him play once in person when he was with the '92 Olympic team. Great guy.
That's cool that the ebay seller honored the cheap price of that card. I have had so many sellers burn me and never send items I won in their auctions. I have had it happen on 7 auctions buying Patrick Mahomes cards. It usually happens when the auction ends on a Sunday before the Chiefs play and Mohomes does something crazy and the value is about to go up, mysteriously the seller can't find the card, or the label gets printed but never shipped out.
I'm a Yordan Alvarez super collector. Literally have almost every single rookie parallel of his except 1/1's and a few /5's of his panini stuff. Topps brand I have the majority except his a few that are out of my price range. And I do one auto and/or mem card from every product. I feel like I may have the largest collection of him. Not the most valuable tho. I've seen people here and there selling several way high dollar cards of his that may pass mine in value. I also planned to only do his rookies but continued on till this year. There's just too many inserts, parallels, autos and more of the big names and it's just a headache to keep up on
@@vintagecardssteve8582 Life has been busy as you well know. I still watch and collect but not much more than that on youtube. Hope you are well Steve and how are those Cornhuskers gonna fair this year?s
I was with you on Alstott but who chases Brunell and Plumber!? lol he was talking about Jake Plumber right? Is there another Plumber I’m missing, that was good at football?
Man, if I know y'all were in P-cola I could have got you a closer look at the Blue angels. (I did water security with the USCG during the Pensacola show)
I feel that the hobby is becoming less a hobby and more an investor, business thing. That is good for the "high rollers" but possibly frustrating for the average hobbyist. There's "hobby" boxes that have all the ""good stuff " and retail, which the"business " considers crap. I grew up in the '70s and:80's collecting for fun. I buy stuff for my great nephew and hoping he appreciates the cards as a hobby and not an investment. He's only 5 months old.

Very cool guy. Thx for being willing to let people of faith talk.
I lived in Pensacola for close to 30 years, and the Blue Angels never get old.
Always a good show

I put 2 and 2 together. Alstott, Pensacola.. back in jan this guy bought a 23 prizm green alstott auto off me on ebay. Glad to see another episode 🎉💯

Such an emotional roller coaster, you can tell the collector is having trouble letting go, reality can be hard.
This guys stuff was some of the best on this show

Great episode. The way you take time for the personal aspect of a collection is part of the reason I love Chasing Cardboard.

That Payton card sums up cards, so rare and 10mint and its worth $250 lol. People just trade new one off worthless crap now, its so fake.
So true.
Mike Alstotts grandkids will be in the HOF before that collection sells.
Haha!
This is not aging well if you have been following the sales.

My whole intention in collecting is to one day have Ty come to my house
That in itself is unique
High aspirations!! I like it. ;-)
Haha that’s awesome!
Instead of paying tens of thousands on the cards to get him there. Ask him to hang out for couple hours for 3 grand
Why, so you can get low balled ,😂
We purchased one of his cards on ebay. I wish there was a way to reach out to the original owner to let him know it's in good hands

love Alstott. One of my favorites. I would for sure buy one high end. Just need a few hundred more of me. Also love Fred Taylor lol
Take that collection up to the West Lafayette, Indiana area and you’re sure to move it. Boilermaker nation would eat it up!

I like his idea of collecting the rushing leaders auto from that particular year. I might start chasing that with my own collection!
Thats where I went to A-school and learned to be an aviation electriciansmate. Saw a few practices from my barracks.
Nice finish with the Blue Angels! I’m sure there are some crazy cool cards in that collection.
I think so too!
love this episode! im a brunell collector too
Another great episode
That was a stand up seller who honored that Payton RC sale, alot of sellers might get bitter and pull the auction
Great episode - really enjoyed it Ty!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Guy sounds like the father from Growing Pains & the boss from Office Space 😆"Umm yeah... I'm gonna need you to buy all my Mike Alstott cards"
I live in Pensacola! Awesome you guys came here.
My son lives in Pensacola you go coast to coast for sure
I can see it on TV hardcore cardboard
We've talked about that!
Great video! As someone who knows nothing about the sport it’s amazing to see how passionate people are about their favourite players
Glad you enjoyed it!

Thanks, you too!
Dang man,, Pensacola?? As soon as I heard Blue Angels- my home. I would have loved to shake your hand if I knew you came here.
When are you listing these? There’s a couple I need for my PC
You'll start seeing some on eBay this week...and then plenty more every day through the next 60 days.
What about District ?
How has this guy only got 40k subs ? Froggy flips subs need to see this channel it's crazy good.👏👏
Agreed! This should be 100k subs easy! Hopefully it just keeps growing
We appreciate that!

Thanks for the visit

I don’t think I could have paid that much.
Hey how does Ty have time to do these videos...when he plays shortstop for the Phillies....Love the show
