Trump was a moderate New York Democrat before he changed party and became a Republican. He donated to Democrats like Bill Clinton and Jesse Jackson. They invited him to their fundraisers, parties and weddings as both a successful businessman and TV celebrity. He was recognized for his work in helping minority owned businesses and the Black community with an NAACP Rosa Parks award. He was also recognized by Jewish groups for his support of the Jewish Community -- and his daughter, son-in-law (and key advisor) and many grandkids are Jewish. He was a frequent guest on TV shows like The View and the Oprah Show, and they always treated him with smiles. All that changed when he ran against Hillary Clinton. At first he was treated like the comic relief, oh that cheeky Trump, he's good for ratings! Then he got traction. Then they freaked out when he won the GOP Nomination and started to perform well against Hillary. They knew they couldn't run against actual Trump -- a moderate Democrat turned moderate Republican, so they reinvented Trump from the outside. Like a switch had been flipped the Democrats and allied media turned on him and used all their resources to paint him as a racists, misogynist, fascist reincarnation of Adolf Hitler! They rewrote history, took quotes and media appearances out of context and highly edited to make Trump seem like a horrible racist. He's not a racist. Never was. You've been lied to.

His son-in-law (Jared) and daughter (Ivanka) and their children are Jewish, yet he has been called anti-Semetic by the liberal media. I always hated Trump because he was arrogant TV, back before his run for president. I hated how he supported the Clinton's, but during his first term, he gained my support through his actions. It was because of Trump that I began to see how the mainstream media manipulated us. I remember watching CNN, and they misquoted Trump and me staring at the TV with confusion. I remember saying out loud, "That is not what he said!". That was the start of my support for DJT, now I am a "ride or die" DJT supporter.

I'm 48 years old and I always hated politics because I despise politicians. Fortunately, one day while watching CNN, they cut over to Trump's statements regarding the Charlottesville event. I watched a the entire thing and then they cut back over to CNN where they proceeded to completely lie about what he just said. My girlfriend and I looked at each other and realized in that moment that this is what he meant by "fake news". They cut his statement in half and tried to frame him as a racist. It was a boldfaced lie.

Had to comment on school choice. In the 80’s our daughter went to a private Christian school that we paid for. Later in 11th grade she wanted to go to public school so she could take college level courses. After a week, just one week, her attitude completely changed and sometimes on verge of crying. It took days of asking what’s wrong that she finally told us. The public school system was so far behind. They were teaching students in the 11th grade things she learned in 9th grade at the private school. At her age she said out loud “They are dumbing us down. Bingo! Simple things I learned in the 60’s & early 70’s are no longer taught. Things like Home economics, management of money, wood shop & auto repair and sex education… not pervert sex they teach today to our very young children. Another thing was racism. Yes we had a little bit but nothing like today. The left is trying to take us backwards. School system is teaching kids hate and division. I’m done but really have so much more!
I can relate. I went to Catholic School k-6th grade. I struggled as a young student. I was just below average, always. Then I had to go to public school. That year, I easily made the Honor Roll, and stayed with it through high school.

So true. I was fairly intelligent in school. I realize now how blessed I was. Got A's and B's all the way until high-school graduation without studying. Teachers told me I'd do great in college. First semester I failed 3 out of 5 classes because I believed I was smart enough to make it without studying. Failed 2 more the next semester because the "freshman guidance program" told me I'd be fine and to not seek a tutor. I actually studied that semester and still failed. Waited until it was too late to seek out a tutor myself. Ended up dropping out because I thought I was dumb and didn't want to waste my parents money. I do take responsibility. I'm not blaming anyone but the public education system definitely screwed me. My parents were amazed I didn't know how to write a check or balance a checkbook when I graduated and they asked me to write a check to pay for my college apps. They just assumed I would learn how in school because they did. Luckily my high school did have an automotive class so I fell back on that and am now a mechanic
I was educated in private schools through high school, except for a brief blip in 1978. The summer before fourth grade, we moved to a new house in a new town. My parents enrolled my older sister and me in the local public schools, which was pretty bad academically. It had open classrooms, and concentrating was difficult since you heard the other classes in the same room. I cried EVERY morning before having to go to school, and my sister hated her middle school. We stayed in the public schools for 28 days, and our parents enrolled us back into a private school. In public school, they were teaching me things I had already learned, so I was bored. In my new private school, I was no longer bored and felt challenged by the curriculum. Plus, I had my first kiss that year behind the cafeteria from a cute boy in my class, and I still remember his name. Ah, puppy love♥️

JoJo you make me proud. I'm a 76yr. old white male who grew up back before civil rights was really making news. I could really see how blacks were horribly abused and how the South was so racist. Growing up in the North and in a small town(that was racist, to my surprise) by my parents who didn't have a racist bone in their body. So I didn't realize what racism was and never thought much about it. I'm just thinking back and actually I really don't recall any racists in my town. In today's world most young adults are heavily brainwashed, can't think common sense, selfish spoiled and can't think for themselves as you apparently can. Yes we've all been lied to(white, black, brown, red, yellow etc) but at least you want to know the truth and are willing to look for it. The way things are the real truth is... very hard to find but you're ahead of the curve and willing to put in the work to attain the truth. I'm still trying to figure it out for myself, but I(in my own heart) know that GOD is the absolute truth. Saying that will trigger many but I know that my life was mostly in darkness. Donald Trump began to be called racist when he changed party affiliation. He was a Democrat for a long time but with the Democrat party pushing socialism more and more he became a Republican. In the 80's Trump built lots of buildings in New York City. He was praised by Jesse Jackson and people like Al Sharpton because Trump made a point to hire minorities and to use minority owned companies as subcontractors. Jesse Jackson even gave him an award once for hiring minorities.

You asked the right question - Why would someone be against school choice? Why would the Democratic Party be so against the idea of parents who are unsatisfied with the school their kid was assigned to, having the choice to send their kid elsewhere? Because a) they are beholden to the Teacher's Unions who don't want schools to compete with other schools, and want to make sure they can indoctrinate the kids and make sure that they stay poor, bitter and uneducated - which serves the Democratic Party. If Black kids in particular start doing better in school, start behaving better, and become more prosperous as a result, many of them will stop becoming brainwashed democrats, and the Party can't have that.

In 1980, I was a college student just like you wanting to learn about politics. The sitting President, Jimmy Carter, had done a terrible job with the economy and with foreign policy. I voted for his opponent that year, the Republican candidate Ronald Reagan. When the left-leaning residents in my dorm found out, they called me a racist. Simply for voting Republican. They didn't know me from Adam. Black people loved Trump prior to 2015. After he announced he was running for President as a Republican, he was a racist. When I ask Democrats to give me examples of his racism, they act as though I asked them to prove the sky is blue. The only thing I've ever gotten that could truly be considered racist is that he ran an apartment building in 1973 that had some discriminatory policies which were common in NYC at the time and which went away after a class action lawsuit. Everything else goes something like this: Trump did say this: "Mexico is sending us rapists and criminals." This is a true statement because some illegals commit crimes. However, what the leftists _heard_ him say is more like this: "Mexicans *are* rapists and criminals." Trump did say this, referring to Haiti: "It's a shithole country." He said this noting that the government there is corrupt and the people live in poverty. The leftists construed this to mean he didn't think black people were capable of running a country. Trump can be rude and gruff in his manner of speaking but they want so desperately to prove he is a racist that they twist things he says into a pretzel.
Same with ‘fine people on both sides” he was not talking about the crazy and violent activists on both sides but, the reg people that got swept up in it all, most of those people had left before the smaller group that stayed got violent. I always hated Trump because he was arrogant TV, back before his run for president. I hated how he supported the Clinton's, but during his first term, he gained my support through his actions. It was because of Trump that I began to see how the mainstream media manipulated us. I remember watching CNN, and they misquoted Trump and me staring at the TV with confusion. I remember saying out loud, "That is not what he said!". That was the start of my support for DJT, now I am a "ride or die" DJT supporter.

However the media and his opponents say he is racist because he has said some racist things, but when I look into the things they say are racist I find the video/audio clips they play as examples are edited eliminating important context that drastically change the meaning of his words. I know this as a lie by omission. This is how our modern main stream media operates, you will have to seek information from all sources and decide what is truth. Good luck!!

I'm 48 years old and I always hated politics because I despise politicians. Fortunately, one day while watching CNN, they cut over to Trump's statements regarding the Charlottesville event. I watched a the entire thing and then they cut back over to CNN where they proceeded to completely lie about what he just said. My girlfriend and I looked at each other and realized in that moment that this is what he meant by "fake news". They cut his statement in half and tried to frame him as a racist. It was a boldfaced lie.

Had to comment on school choice. In the 80’s our daughter went to a private Christian school that we paid for. Later in 11th grade she wanted to go to public school so she could take college level courses. After a week, just one week, her attitude completely changed and sometimes on verge of crying. It took days of asking what’s wrong that she finally told us. The public school system was so far behind. They were teaching students in the 11th grade things she learned in 9th grade at the private school. At her age she said out loud “They are dumbing us down. Bingo!
Simple things I learned in the 60’s & early 70’s are no longer taught. Things like Home economics, management of money, wood shop & auto repair and sex education… not pervert sex they teach today to our very young children.
Another thing was racism. Yes we had a little bit but nothing like today. The left is trying to take us backwards. School system is teaching kids hate and division. I’m done but really have so much more!

That year, I easily made the Honor Roll, and stayed with it through high school.

So true. I was fairly intelligent in school. I realize now how blessed I was. Got A's and B's all the way until high-school graduation without studying. Teachers told me I'd do great in college. First semester I failed 3 out of 5 classes because I believed I was smart enough to make it without studying. Failed 2 more the next semester because the "freshman guidance program" told me I'd be fine and to not seek a tutor. I actually studied that semester and still failed. Waited until it was too late to seek out a tutor myself. Ended up dropping out because I thought I was dumb and didn't want to waste my parents money. I do take responsibility. I'm not blaming anyone but the public education system definitely screwed me. My parents were amazed I didn't know how to write a check or balance a checkbook when I graduated and they asked me to write a check to pay for my college apps. They just assumed I would learn how in school because they did. Luckily my high school did have an automotive class so I fell back on that and am now a mechanic

My parents enrolled my older sister and me in the local public schools, which was pretty bad academically. It had open classrooms, and concentrating was difficult since you heard the other classes in the same room. I cried EVERY morning before having to go to school, and my sister hated her middle school. We stayed in the public schools for 28 days, and our parents enrolled us back into a private school. In public school, they were teaching me things I had already learned, so I was bored. In my new private school, I was no longer bored and felt challenged by the curriculum. Plus, I had my first kiss that year behind the cafeteria from a cute boy in my class, and I still remember his name. Ah, puppy love♥️

JoJo you make me proud. I'm a 76yr. old white male who grew up back before civil rights was really making news. I could really see how blacks were horribly abused and how the South was so racist. Growing up in the North and in a small town(that was racist, to my surprise) by my parents who didn't have a racist bone in their body. So I didn't realize what racism was and never thought much about it. I'm just thinking back and actually I really don't recall any racists in my town. In today's world most young adults are heavily brainwashed, can't think common sense, selfish spoiled and can't think for themselves as you apparently can. Yes we've all been lied to(white, black, brown, red, yellow etc) but at least you want to know the truth and are willing to look for it. The way things are the real truth is... very hard to find but you're ahead of the curve and willing to put in the work to attain the truth. I'm still trying to figure it out for myself, but I(in my own heart) know that GOD is the absolute truth. Saying that will trigger many but I know that my life was mostly in darkness. Only by the grace of God am here today and to see a young adult like yourself seeking the truth warms my heart! God bless you and may your search not be in vain!

You asked the right question - Why would someone be against school choice? Why would the Democratic Party be so against the idea of parents who are unsatisfied with the school their kid was assigned to, having the choice to send their kid elsewhere? Because a) they are beholden to the Teacher's Unions who don't want schools to compete with other schools, and want to make sure they can indoctrinate the kids and make sure that they stay poor, bitter and uneducated - which serves the Democratic Party. If Black kids in particular start doing better in school, start behaving better, and become more prosperous as a result, many of them will stop becoming brainwashed democrats, and the Party can't have that.

In 1980, I was a college student just like you wanting to learn about politics. The sitting President, Jimmy Carter, had done a terrible job with the economy and with foreign policy. I voted for his opponent that year, the Republican candidate Ronald Reagan. When the left-leaning residents in my dorm found out, they called me a racist. Simply for voting Republican. They didn't know me from Adam.
Black people loved Trump prior to 2015. After he announced he was running for President as a Republican, he was a racist. When I ask Democrats to give me examples of his racism, they act as though I asked them to prove the sky is blue. The only thing I've ever gotten that could truly be considered racist is that he ran an apartment building in 1973 that had some discriminatory policies which were common in NYC at the time and which went away after a class action lawsuit.
Everything else goes something like this:
Trump did say this: "Mexico is sending us rapists and criminals." This is a true statement because some illegals commit crimes. However, what the leftists _heard_ him say is more like this: "Mexicans *are* rapists and criminals."
Trump did say this, referring to Haiti: "It's a shithole country." He said this noting that the government there is corrupt and the people live in poverty. The leftists construed this to mean he didn't think black people were capable of running a country.
Trump can be rude and gruff in his manner of speaking but they want so desperately to prove he is a racist that they twist things he says into a pretzel.
Same with ‘fine people on both sides” he was not talking about the crazy and violent activists on both sides but, the reg people that got swept up in it all, most of those people had left before the smaller group that stayed got violent.
