We had healthy weird looking veggies come out of our farm garden. Carrots that grew around each other, potatoes the same, cucumbers that were twirly and squash that certainly didn’t come out the shape it was supposed to lol. But it’s food, home grown healthy food that went into the cold room and was used as needed. Some of those carrots made some pretty interesting lunchbox surprises :0)
Well, in my country there seems to be no such problem ‘cause there’s always a box of unpretty tomatos or or potato’s. Every single ugly boy seems to go to the market
My siblings are like OmG tHaT bAnAnA hAs A bRuIsE i CaNt EaT iT. I take it from them and eat it to prove nothing is wrong with it. My siblings are very picky with foods and it makes me mad and my parents are annoyed by it. My brother threw an entire bunch of bananas away because one have the tiniest bruise
Food waste is certainly a big deal but I feel like this video is kind of misleading. The "ugly" produce is sent to food processing plants at a lower cost where nobody sees what it looked like before it was processed, and the produce that is worse off than just ugly is sold as animal feed. Not sure were the 20% of produce never leaves the farm came from. The vast majority of food waste is from people not finishing their food at restaurants, or buying things at grocery stores that they let spoil and throw out before they consume, and grocery stores themselves throwing out items that are past sell by dates. Just being "ugly" has nothing to do with almost all food waste in the US.
Heck, yeah! Don't judge food by it's looks, but by it's nutrition!
This is a fantastic project
Kinda dumb i garden and i always love finding an "ugly " vegetable.
I give it a name treat it well than i chop it up and eat it cooked or raw.
I don’t mind eating ugly food as long as it taste good.

As long as the 'wonky' vegetables are cooked properly then it shouldn't matter what they look like; same goes for fruit.
Adam Turk They’re safe to eat raw. Just wash it 🙄🙄
You can eat some of them raw with a dipping sauce
What an odd statement...

At my food store they have an ‘imperfect’ section
