Is it just me or is it hilarious that at the start of the video Nick says "I think Storm will come back" and later(at about 5:20) he says "What is that from?" and its literally the storm motif
Poseidon didnt just kill him directly because he wanted him to get in the water HIMSELF. Wanting to see Odysseus give in and kill himself was not a much honorable way to die. He could of course easily kill him, but he wanted to see him do it.
I love a really early pre-realese animatic of Get In The Water by WolfyTheWitch where Ody is already standing on ground, probably a beach, and Poseidon is just looming over him from the water. It's obvious that, even though Ody is on land, he can not escape this. It makes the intent of "Get in the water" feel way more ominous and impending to me rather than already being on the water which is the home of Poseidon.
I thought of it as because the gods said he will make it home so Posiedon will get in trouble with Zeus and the other gods if he outright kills him. But if he makes him kill himself then he didn't kill him
That partial danger motif you point out in Charybdis is in all the verses for the whole song -- which tracks. As Hermes said previously, this whole trip is a little bit dangerous, my friend.
Charybdis sounds similar bc its the inverse of storm lol also in Get in the Water, the second time Poseidon always say "get in the water" you can hear the sirens vocals in the back which is cool :)
I wonder if in this case it’s less intended to be the regret motif and more so to make small chromatic steps to create a feeling of approaching danger.
"Polites thanks for the sub."
Dammit man, I choked on my drink thanks to that. XDD

@@DreadKing2028 Yeah!
fun fact: when ody says "Maybe you could learn to forgive" he tries to use poseidon instrument, and it doesnt work
Yess, its also melodically the same as “ruthlessness is mercy upon ourselves”

Did you notice in charybdis ody actually make his raft smaller to get better control.😊
Anniflamma invented Windsurfing! 🤣
That "oh" at the end of Charydis (before "there, I see it") sounds like storm

I wish I could tell the reactors how to say Charybdis!

@WittySomething lol nice
let’s go! Sorry for pestering you so much but I’m so excited that this is coming out
Your reactions are always so good😭
Hear me out: The Ego Motif maybe, if it's present when Odysseus shouts his name out to Polyphemus?
Ooh! Did you miss “Why not leave this here and just go home?” Is “we won’t take more suffering from you.”
Ok the amount of youtubers who have pronounced it Chary-ib-dis instead of Car-ib-dous makes me cackle 😂
I don't rly care about that little detail that can be affected by accent i'm more bothered by ppl pronouncing ch rather than c if ygm
@@felixhenson9926 it doesnt bother me either just a little thing that makes me laugh a bit 😅
