- Tesla Vision Park Assist now displays a high fidelity 3D representation of the world around your vehicle, including the proximity and shape of nearby objects, barriers, vehicles, and painted road markings.

This is pretty much how FSD looks at the environment & renders it, they basically just now made that viewable there 😂👌
This looks very good. Can't wait to test on my Tesla MY.
Unbelievably good!!!! And showing some love for the USS-free cars by giving it to them first. (confirmed it will also be on USS cars)
Confirmed? Where did you get this information? I got an MYP with USS…
@@benjaminwelzel9401confirmed by a Tesla engineer on X. He also said that geometry and the system in general will get better overtime. Right now is already a great upgrade compared to the previous iteration of vision-only park assist.
Curious as well
There is NO official information stating that this will ever be available on models with USS.
They are NOT releasing it for cars equipped with USS.
Temporal memory seems to resolve "easily" the lack of front camera. It's good to see. In fact, like a human.
Cool! Still waiting to get it.
i got the update its amazing!
Interesting. Looking forward to getting this update to see how it works. Right now only on 2023-44-1. I have HW4 and just the newer cameras in my 2023 Model Y LR, no sensors, I got in August. Thanks for the video information, take care.
I tested it. It works well and helps on parking situations. I only wish I could select when activate it.
the issue was always parking forward. And how the distance to a bin or human is calculated. we will see if it is usable now without USS.
I agree. I haven't been getting myself to trust the assistance and always used my own guesstimation.
does it look like this on the 22 model 3 performance?
If it really is that precise and IF it is really that useable like a 360° view on the competitors software implementations, it finally resolves what makes tesla actually not being recommened by many owners and myself holding back on getting a new one because of the crappy implementation of parking assistant which is cruial on those cars with so many blind spots.
I'm still waiting for the update to show up.
Does the Tesla park itself? Or is it just a sensor for positioning?
The vision based Autopark isn't available in Europe, unfortunately (likely due to regulations). So cars without ultra sonic sensors can't use auto park features.
I been using the new park assist for about a week. And I have to say it’s frankly phenomenal comparing to what we had before. I really don’t understand some people comments here saying how bad it is. I mean are people stupid? It is very helpful and quite accurate! I have a BMW X5 PHEV and yes it has the colorful 360 over top view but it’s useless!
So 2 years of waiting* was worth it, just to get a system that might be comparable to USS setups in the competition?
*Waiting while having useless trash.
It should have been
-create system
-test it
-correct it
-remove sensors
Instead they did:
-remove sensors
-test user patience for 6 months
-release something
-test user patience again
-create something that kinda works
They must have so much fun seeing how Tesla users/fans will take anything they are given. Even if objectively the worst stuff.
Still wont work for parallel parking in tight spaces where you need USS for less than 3 inch space squeezes.
how to get it to work in drive? seems to only work in reverse
Indeed it only activates in Reverse, but lingers on a few moments in Drive. It probably also depends on driving speed.
Now I can do groceries in a birdbox future
Is this on all tesla models?
Is there any way to get the update faster? I wanna test it on my model 3
Don't think so, from what I've heard it's not available (yet) to cars with the ultrasonic sensors. So might be worth to check out which version of 3 you have.
@@chrisvolta I have the 2023 model 3 rwd which doesn't
@@Neo_CAGaming that's odd. Maybe they are rolling out in waves? Hope it will come soon!
Mine looks nothing like this. It’s not 3D at all. Just looks like fuzzy white clouds. Do I have to turn something on to make them into 3D objects?
Is it only in Model 3 and Model Y? I cannot find this feature in Model X
I understand it is available for cars without parking sensor.
This is nice looking but not sufficient for the task! You need a precision of a few inches to park in difficult situations. That can only work with a system that really measures distances like USS. Compare that to a modern 360 parking system from BMW oder Mercedes...
This is not very helpful because it is only activated when in reverse. Most people park moving forward onto a space. I hope there is a way it can activate when going 5mph or less, it would make more helpful.
It is not only on reverse. If you are trying to park moving forward and the camera recognizes the lanes, it automatically activates this view and you can check your alignment. But I agree with you, it would be much better if we could decide when activate it
Is it better than USS ?
Definitely! confirmed it will also be on USS cars. It's now in 3D and not just a 2D noodle
Where did you confirm this?
@@lukeremis head of Tesla confirmed on X
what is the use of this?
parking assist
So Tesla made a worse version of birds eye view years late and we are supposed to be impressed?
Sadly, not for USS cars, while they also have cameras. It would have been nice to push the update to all cars and let the owners test and chose via the UI. Tesla does not seems to want to manage "old" Teslas, since most of the "christmas update" will bring nothing to my car. I would not mind if at least what I bought in 2018 has been delivered : FSD. But as a European, it may never happen, and apparently even a taste of FSD (better visualisation) is too much to ask.
Verified it will also be on USS cars in a later update. Since non-USS cars basically got left behind for a while, Tesla prioritized them first. As a USS owner I am happy for the non-USS cars to get some love!
@@rickkay9548 I am happy for non USS owners, but for Tesla "later" some times means almost never. I have the FSD option since 2018 and in Europe it may never happen
I still think it looks weak sorry. Haven’t got the update yet so we shall see. The vision system is all but worthless on my car for parking etc.
More gimmick than functionality. I'd take a 360 camera over this any day.
Why is it gimmick if it accurately represent the 3d world around you?
This understand the depth and distance to the objects. 360view is stiching photos together. This is going to be way better than 360view in few years.
@@malax4013 Because there are small things that can in a parking lot that is too small for the software to make a 3D model of or it will be unrecognizable. But with a camera you can easily see it and we humans can more easily make sense of what it is.
In short, the 3D software is giving an incomplete image of what is around you.
@@NorwayChallenge High fidelity park assist doesnt need to recognize the objects. Its just greating 3d geometry about the object.
The accuracy will be depentant on how big of a voxels Tesla uses and compute heavy it is.
@@malax4013 I wasn’t talking about the software recognizing what the thing is. I was talking about how it’s easier for the user to recognize an image of a thing than a low detail 3D model especially if it’s a small object.
@@NorwayChallenge Would it be somehow a problem for tesla to add surface renderings on objects in the future?
I just released a top secret video about the new holiday update
