Not his 'first touch' in particular but boy his ball control was insane, second to none, not even Messi in my opinion. It was like he was one with the ball having an affair with it in the middle of the pitch. Either way this video focused a lot on his goals/finishing which is probably not the best measure for his playstyle because he was known for his Dribbling, playmaking and even showboating to some extent (like Ronaldinho). Also his performance at the 1986 World Cup is considered to be the peak of any player at the biggest stage by many, so yeah...one of the all-time greats
The game in the mud , I think is the one where a kid needed surgery and they didnt have money, so they went to Maradona and he organized a match to rise funds... and Napoli didn't let him play, and he did it anyway
To describe Maradona, it doesn't matter how many goals he scored or passes, just understanding how he controlled the ball, how he dribbled, how he understood the game, Maradona is number 1 because he is mystical, magical, emotional.
I liked the video and you are right that he scored a lot of goals. He was a center attacking midfielder and scored somewhere around 350 goals which is very high tally for that position. Also that is the position that traditionally wears the 10 shirt and Maradona and Pelé were prob the more iconic ones to wear it the past century. Although i must say, this video was mostly, as u pointed out, goals. I feel like we are missing the dribbling way way more! He was all about that dribble. Leaving behind 3,4, 6 people in the way. And you DEFENITELY have to watch the goal Maradona made which was chosen as "The goal of the century". There has to be a video on yt talking about it, if anybody has a specific recomendation for that, it'd be awesome.
Diego has given the first première line ('scudetto', Italian language) to Naples team (in this video you can see many times playing for Naples) Diego is of another level, the best player of all time
he always gave everything for Argentina... back then he wanted to take his daughters to Disney, and USA denied him his VISA because he had drug problems... he said that he would never go to USA. Then, he was retired, and Argentina called him back because we were in trouble and we might not make it to the world cup... he came back... classified us...and then, went to play the Worl Cup 1994 in USA. He swallowed his pride, all for Argentina. Not many people do that... specially, legends like him.
do you remember he was fouled, and fallen into the ground, but stud up, regained the ball and he sent that cross pass for the goal against Australia.. Amazing.. saludos desde san luis.
Watching Diego Maradona play in his prime (1986 - 1990) was an experience. We only heard of Pele of Brazil and his skills on the pitch... We saw Maradona play live in the World Cup and those who were lucky enough to watch him play for Italian club Napoli (He also played for Barcelona... Lionel Messi's club) and he was something to behold. The GOAT of his era. Also, the game of football ⚽ was different from today... We also cringed at the fouls Maradona had to endure from defenders, who would resort to kicking him savagely and slamming him to stop him. The injuries he accumulated were awful and likely contributed to his abusing drugs when he wasn't playing... For example: I remember the 1990 WC final Argentina v. Germany - the Mexican ref was clearly favoring Germany when Maradona was stomped on his arm after being fouled and Germany's Rudy Voller was only given a yellow card; but he red-carded 2 Argentinians - 1 for a no-contact 'foul'... and another for a dispute w/ a German player who was not cautioned. Argentina lost 0 -1 on a controversial penalty that was awarded for Rudy Voller, who clearly took a dive in the box and should not have been on the field. The ref was fired after that final game (He publicly 'retired') The refs did not give the same protections as they do now for players - u can get ejected from the game now for most of the fouls that Diego Maradona (and Pele) had to endure in their careers. Injuries ended the careers of most iconic football players like Marco Van Basten and Ruud Gullit of Netherlands (who played for Maradona's rivals AC Milan) Messi came after the 90's when the rules were more strictly enforced and even Messi got ejected a few times in his career... Sergio Ramos of Spain (and Real Madrid) has been ejected 29 times w/ red cards.
Truly the GOAT. What he did in 86 and for Napoli can never be surpassed and he did it in an era where he received little protection from ruthless defenders. Players today have it so much easier in that sense. Most of the tackles he faced would be straight red cards now. He was also the most fouled player in the 82 and 86 wc’s, and pretty much his whole career.
As Argentinian myself thanks you a lot for this video... Maradona for us is a God, because he gave us a lot, a world cup and lots of emotions as well.. we all grown wathing him playing, as Messi did.. 4:54 That was at a benefit game for a child who had to have jaw surgery. The club he played for refused to play the game in their stadium, and did not want Maradona to play that game either. He did not listen to the club authorities, and they set up the game on a dirt field on the outskirts of the city. And he took the entire team with him. That boy had surgery and today he has a normal life. That's Maradona. Not just football.
they didn’t showed his dribbling at all. his dribbling was like messi and his arial game was like ronaldinho…he had them both. his control while running and his accuracy was insane
You can see how much influence he had on Messi. The left foot dribbling, the low centre of gravity and the ability to ride tackles without falling over. Plus those pitches in the 80s were soo bad, it was so much harder to keep control of the ball
good intel, didnt realize the fields were harder to play on - even more impressive!! yeah he did have some good strength as well i should of mentioned that
Hi Cindy... I'm giving you a review so you know who Maradona was and why he is so legendary. As you have seen, his talent was enormous (perhaps at the same level or higher than Messi's). But what transforms him into a legend (the GOAT for many too) are his exploits on a soccer field... With the Argentine national team, Maradona has the best individual performance in the history of the World Cups in 1986.. In addition He has the greatest feat in the history of the Italian league. He played in the Napoli club (team from the city of Naples)... Napoli was one of the worst teams in the Italian league (something similar to Inter Miami before of Messi arriving).. But the Italian league in the 80's was the best league in the world where the best players and teams were (Juventus, Milan, Roma, Inter Milan, etc...).. Maradona led Napoli to win their first titles in their history, beating the best in the world with a very low-level team. In Naples, Maradona is practically considered a God... unfortunately he had a life of excess and that damaged his career too... But his legacy is enormous and he is considered the GOAT by the vast majority of his generation.

Please react "Argentine DNA" is a great video comparing Messi and Maradona, with similar goals and plays
( th-cam.com/video/1JHryQPbfKI/w-d-xo.html )
added to my listtt!
@@itsbluereacts :) thanks!
1000 gols só Pelé Maradona cheirador
reaccion maradona frisstyle
reacts to the top scoring goalkeeper: Rogério Ceni, with more than 131 goals.
ive added it to my list!
Cindy please react to cricket also the second most popular sports in the world
aw i will consider it, but i've watched it a little and it didn't grab my attention too much
@@itsbluereacts Don't waste your time.
To the contrary to what the poster said, it isn't popular by any stretch. Very few countries play it and it's a snooze fest.
He had to contend with old school defending. Or violent assault as it might be called now.
an American woman reacting to soccer... it's similar than an Argentinian woman reacting to American football
is that good or bad? LOL
These weren't even Maradona's best skills

Messi may have the stats, but Id rather play like Maradona, so many tools he had at his disposal, you saw 5 % of what this guy did in this video
need to see more for sure!
next react -20 lionel messi dribbles
Maradona is, was and will be better than Messi
Maradona was a genius with the ball, but the video you reacted to doesn't do him justice. Here's a nicer one th-cam.com/video/RZelt2D964c/w-d-xo.html
theres far better maradona videos on youtube. i hate these ones with so many close ups you cant really appreciate enough the skills and passes. peace and love from ireland
for sure sounds like i chose the wrong recommendation 😂

React to quaresma
the blackmailer? 😂 yes react to news footage of him trying to sell his teammate back his s3x t@pe.
Mas grande que Messi
where is ronaldoo reactttt??????
he was in one like just over a week ago fam! hes not the only footballer im gonna watch :)
@@itsbluereacts think he means the real ronaldo, most of us will call pretty boy CR7 or Cristiano. We know El Fenomeno, "The Perfect Striker" as Ronaldo. The other guy is a hyped star. Great player but did really nothing to advance the game as people like R9, Cruyff and Ronaldinho.
Not as good as Gasgoine✌️🏴
I enjoy you americans finally getting to know Football and reacting to it. I likeit. But the ability to always pick the worst video is very concerning, jesus. Maradona is (along with Messi, Our Ronaldo forom BR, Pele etc) one of the best dribblers ever and you got all those terrible angles and ...PENALTIES what...
hahah tbf this was recommended 😂
Still crazy how he was involved in one of soccers biggest controversies and sports controversy with “the hand of god” goal that helped Argentina win the World Cup ⚽️
@@rifat_hossain139 it was the hand of god during the World Cup (idk what round) maradona used his hand to help him score a goal (no replay was available at the time; but it was shown he used his hand which is illegal) after the World Cup he was it was the hand of god that helped me score the goal. That’s how the name came to be
@@rifat_hossain139 I called it soccer ⚽️ but I know in many countries it’s called Futbol
@@rifat_hossain139 if I offended anyone I apologize
you're mad that an american used the term that our country uses? bruh

You're missing a lot of Diego...
