I used to be a part of a recovery ministry at a church. One of pastor’s said that everyone has the chance of being addicted to anything and anything can be what seems like a good thing. He led off with too much church and not enough family time. Then too much work, etc. That second one was my problem. He then said the book says God first, family second, then everything else and He was so right!

One of my biggest problems with the show is how condescending they are toward Mary with regard to her faith. She should absolutely be concerned about the salvation of her children since none of them seem concerned about it themselves. *However*I think she still needs to be present for them in the wake of the tragedy
I hated Mary but I think when she lost George, it broke her so much that she was terrified of her children dying next and not knowing where they would end up made it worse. So instead of her being there for her family, in her brokenness all she had to grasp onto was her prayers and faith. It made everything worse for everyone else because she wasn’t willing to face that.
Revisa el nombre que hay en la lápida y entenderás por qué está comportándose así. El mismo Georgi en The Big Bang le dijo a Sheldon como es que su madre quedó destrozada después de que George murió.
You are a very lucky person. Because I have know more than one real person who was like this character but worse. Remember, they can only do so much because of broadcast standards.
No wonder Missy laughed at her when she got scolded by penny at Sheldon’s wedding. I would’ve smiled sadistically if Missy said to her mother that she hated her, because that mother doesn’t deserve to have Missy as a daughter
I like what she said. Something I always heard in church growing up is that God uses us to answer prayers. What I’ve always taken that to mean is yes, pray, but go and do as well. Go be the answer to someone’s prayer
This is why I don't really much care for religion in general. Too many people let it rule their lives. Rather than using it as a guideline for living a better life, it becomes hard rules or laws you have to follow, often to the point where one inadvertently tries to make other suffer to make everyone else follow what they believe is "right". Mary's head is so far up her ass with her beliefs that her children, who need the nurturing love of a mother, are suffering because she thinks prayer will solve everything.
I feel this so much. I may not be a teenager anymore, but my dad's passing was abrupt and Made everyone miserable. My mom took It upon herself to just go to church every day, saying shed like to spend More Time with us (mind you, my siblings and i are in our mid 20s, we are doing as Best we can) but instead of actually spending Time with us she just jumps into talking about religión and talking about the bible and wanting US to go with her to church. Now i get thats her coping, but It fucking sucks that all she seems to care bout Is religion and wether or not we are going to church and the only times she talks to me Is to complain about the state of the house or trying to convince me to go to religious groups and church (MIND YOU, id like to go to church alone, without her presence over me but she doesnt seem to get It) Its frustrating, its annoying, instead of caring for the living they care about a book and a temple AND other people. It just hurts my inner child and im rambling now, It sucks. Cant imaginé if i were a teenager when this happened, thank god It didnt because im sure she wouldve been 10 times worst
My question , why when george was alive was she not worried about their souls , he dies and she thinks their going to hell alittle to late, besides shes totally ignored missy since the day she was born
I need to say this as someone who grew up with a mother like Mary, don't do this to your kids.. Religion is a very hateful thing and will always do more harm than good.. I have 40 yrs experience is arguing this point, and have even made pastors quit their jobs and go on to live happier lives.. I have also been distant from my mother for about 22 yrs.. She still attens church every Thursday and sunday, and tells me she prays for me.. I still tell her to stop and pray for a sense of gullability.. Because thats what she really needs..
That's why I'm not religious, and why religious people tend to shun me. Unlike them, I believe in helping the people I love rather than muttering into the air for someone else to do it.
A person can pray to the blue in the face that won't save your family members soul the only thing that can save your family members soul is your family member praying to God to save their own soul
It's funny cause religious people don't actually care about others well-being they just care about the idea of sending someone's soul to heaven and "saving" them as theyr family drifts apart
Some people take religion too seriously to the point that they lose sight of who they are doing it for. They don't need you to pray or believe, they just need you
What Mary needs to understand is she’s not the only one grieving her kids are too and she’s gonna drive other kids away if she doesn’t stop Sheldon’s already leaving and Georgie had to step up but She Could Missy away from home, and the kids cause those 2 to resent Sheldon even more the world does not revolve around her.

My pastor and mom say the same thing God is first and family should be the 2nd important thing
If they don't drink in heaven I've got a lot of pre-gaming to do.
Her love of god it’s getting on the way of the love of her children and even tho it’s a show this is true for a lot of families
A LIVE ISN'T WORTH LIVING UNLESS YOU LIVE, BUT A LIFE IS NOT WORTH LIVING IF YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT THE SOUL.
IF YOU ONLY CARE ABOUT THE SOUL, YOU WON'T HAVE A LIFE
AND YOU'RE JUST GOING TO UPSET GOD FOR DOING THE WORK TO GIVE SOMEONE A LIFE !

Oh
IF there was a god.

LIFE IS TO LIVE,
NO MATTER IF THERE IS A GOD
OR NOT !
“Oh I should’ve bought more beer “ 😂😂😂😂
One of my biggest problems with the show is how condescending they are toward Mary with regard to her faith. She should absolutely be concerned about the salvation of her children since none of them seem concerned about it themselves. *However*I think she still needs to be present for them in the wake of the tragedy
Mary says that like she knows praying for them will save them for sure
They don’t drink in heaven.
My sister in Christ, Jesus turned water into wine
I hated Mary but I think when she lost George, it broke her so much that she was terrified of her children dying next and not knowing where they would end up made it worse. So instead of her being there for her family, in her brokenness all she had to grasp onto was her prayers and faith. It made everything worse for everyone else because she wasn’t willing to face that.
Perfect reason why I’m not into religion as much
Choosing Religion over your children makes you a horrible person and i will stand by that
“I should’ve brought more beer”
Got me rolling 😂
You won't be saving anyone if you're not with them.
Her religion was outta control!!! And yes I know this just a show but they got ridiculous with it
Revisa el nombre que hay en la lápida y entenderás por qué está comportándose así. El mismo Georgi en The Big Bang le dijo a Sheldon como es que su madre quedó destrozada después de que George murió.
You are a very lucky person. Because I have know more than one real person who was like this character but worse. Remember, they can only do so much because of broadcast standards.
"OH I shoulda brought more beer"😂
Yes they do, what was Jesus' first miracle?
turnin water to wine
😂
@@Haleyfilmseditor what am i wrong or what💀
@@eddy_ht11 a little bit😂
But there's no water in heaven.
Conny is the best
Guilt is a monster no amount of prayer can ease....
That's catchy... 😅😅
Of course she's worried about Sheldon but just assumes Missy is fine 🙄
No wonder Missy laughed at her when she got scolded by penny at Sheldon’s wedding. I would’ve smiled sadistically if Missy said to her mother that she hated her, because that mother doesn’t deserve to have Missy as a daughter
MeMa like my mother an grandmother getting it real with Love 😊😊😊😊
If i was missy i would NEVER forgive mary
"I have no intention of saving those who only pray for others to extend a helping hand, like plants waiting for the rain."
-Sebas Tian
God gives us the tools but that doesn’t mean we should expect him to do all the work!
I like what she said. Something I always heard in church growing up is that God uses us to answer prayers. What I’ve always taken that to mean is yes, pray, but go and do as well. Go be the answer to someone’s prayer
Memaw was right and more than ever, both of them needed her.
"Oh I should have brought more beers" 😂
Man, Meemaw for a reason 😎
I see both points of view. Prayer is very important and it is helping her with her grief but it might not be exactly what the kids need right now
This is why I don't really much care for religion in general.
They absolutely drink in heaven. Its paradise aint it?
I feel this so much. I may not be a teenager anymore, but my dad's passing was abrupt and Made everyone miserable. My mom took It upon herself to just go to church every day, saying shed like to spend More Time with us (mind you, my siblings and i are in our mid 20s, we are doing as Best we can) but instead of actually spending Time with us she just jumps into talking about religión and talking about the bible and wanting US to go with her to church. Now i get thats her coping, but It fucking sucks that all she seems to care bout Is religion and wether or not we are going to church and the only times she talks to me Is to complain about the state of the house or trying to convince me to go to religious groups and church (MIND YOU, id like to go to church alone, without her presence over me but she doesnt seem to get It)
Its frustrating, its annoying, instead of caring for the living they care about a book and a temple AND other people. It just hurts my inner child and im rambling now, It sucks. Cant imaginé if i were a teenager when this happened, thank god It didnt because im sure she wouldve been 10 times worst
If they don’t drink in Heaven then George is gonna be pissed
Wait so George was only 42 when he died great advertisement of american health care system
"They don't drink in Heaven" ...didn't Jesus told his disciples to drink wine since that was his "blood"?
Mary just can't turn it off for two seconds for her family smh
"I shoulda brought more beer."
That's my mom right there.
That's why I'm not religious, and why religious people tend to shun me. Unlike them, I believe in helping the people I love rather than muttering into the air for someone else to do it.
If a religious person shuns you, then they arent truely religious
I'm gonna be waiting for the right moment to show this to my mom
Our God's Drink is the Wine of Worship. And we worship him for an Eternity
A person can pray to the blue in the face that won't save your family members soul the only thing that can save your family members soul is your family member praying to God to save their own soul
If, as a parent, you want assurance of your children’s eternal destination, you should spend as much time with them as possible.
I wonder what an alternate universe where Mary was the one who died would've looked like? I'd much prefer that over this horrible mother universe.
How can someone like her come from a wise woman like Sheldon's meema?
Christians in a nutshell
It's funny cause religious people don't actually care about others well-being they just care about the idea of sending someone's soul to heaven and "saving" them as theyr family drifts apart
Not all of us clam down 💀
Thats not true in the slightest
💯💯
What is the name of this film?
I love ur vids
Some people take religion too seriously to the point that they lose sight of who they are doing it for. They don't need you to pray or believe, they just need you
dont you just love hearing the same song from a third of all youtube shorts on an emotional scene it doesnt fit whatsoever
Sorry 😅
@@Haleyfilmseditoryeh, bc your emoji means that. 😑
I hope George can still enjoy a Lone Star beer !
Oh you poor lady.
Don't you know she doesn't actually care for her kids. She just wants to be deluded into thinking she's doing good for them.
