You're on a real slippery slope, my friend. Don't worry, you won't be the first person to fall under Angelina's spell. But don't be surprised if you find yourself listening to her songs over and over. You get over being surprised, but you're always amazed by her voice. There's some controversy over "I Keep Holding Out for You" although the vocals and arrangement are stunningly good. I would offer her version of "Wake Me Up" by Avicci. They did some collaborations before his death, and she recorded that piece as a tribute to him. Just Angelina, a microphone, and a guitar. Absolute magic.

Great reaction to this Angelina Jordan performance. It is obvious that you are someone who understands the technical and artistic aspects of vocal music. After 40+ years as a music educator and jazz musician, I would say to all young singers: Don’t try to sing like Angelina until you know how to do it, especially when she belts out in the high register. Take voice lessons and learn everything you can about vocal technique and artistic styling. If you try to do what she does before you know what you are doing, you could severely damage your voice and may never be able to sing again. Angelina has a gift that comparatively, very few people in history have ever had. All of her physical vocal abilities and sense of musical style came with her at birth and because her family played music all the time as she was growing up. She is a force of nature. You can aspire to sing like her, but don’t push it. We would like to see and hear you on TH-cam someday!
I truly believe that she is one of God's greatest creations and he obviously has huge plans for her! She has so much of an old soul, it's like she has a little piece of each of the Greatest Musicians that ever walked among us!!

At 10 or 12 years old she has a word with a pianist. Preparing for a concert she had a word with the conductor. No her parents sent her back to her Waldorf school. She had a couple events, singing for Quincy Jones birthday at the 02 Arena in London and at the Nobel Peace Ceremony. She has a wonderful multicultural background. Her father is Swedish, Grandmother is an Iranian artist and Grandfather Japanese. She was born in Oslo. She speaks 3 languages, plays multiple instruments, had a book of hers of the barefoot story published, and started writing her own music at 12... the first three are, What is Life?, Oslo, and Shield.
Angelina does that to all of us, even after 2-3 years of steady listening she still puts us on our butts. Even at this age, actually she started earlier at 6yrs.old, she was arranging the music so it was like what she was hearing in her head. I read something from another commenter that at 6 yrs. she could be seen explaining to the bass player how she wanted him to play the song this way instead of the way it was being played. At the beginning of this song if you watch closely you see her writing down changes she wants the band to know about. You see the conductor looking at the changes and smiling and shaking his head, not in annoyance, but in a kind of disbelief that someone so young could know to do this. Not only, does she got this but you gotta have it this way!!! That last part always gets me, as I am in tears at this moment. She is just so special. When she did this she was already well known, she won Norway got talent when she was 7, so i dont think the producer had to teach her much, i think it was more like Angelina telling the producer " ok, this is how we gonna do it"

She was wrapped in a blanket which her family made into the outfit she wore on AGT, with the leftovers making the mask in the "The Show Must Go On" video. You're on a real slippery slope, my friend. Don't worry, you won't be the first person to fall under Angelina's spell. But don't be surprised if you find yourself listening to her songs over and over. You get over being surprised, but you're always amazed by her voice. There's some controversy over "I Keep Holding Out for You" although the vocals and arrangement are stunningly good. I would offer her version of "Wake Me Up" by Avicci. They did some collaborations before his death, and she recorded that piece as a tribute to him. Just Angelina, a microphone, and a guitar. Absolute magic.

Great reaction to this Angelina Jordan performance. It is obvious that you are someone who understands the technical and artistic aspects of vocal music. After 40+ years as a music educator and jazz musician, I would say to all young singers: Don’t try to sing like Angelina until you know how to do it, especially when she belts out in the high register. Take voice lessons and learn everything you can about vocal technique and artistic styling. If you try to do what she does before you know what you are doing, you could severely damage your voice and may never be able to sing again. Angelina has a gift that comparatively, very few people in history have ever had. All of her physical vocal abilities and sense of musical style came with her at birth and because her family played music all the time as she was growing up. She is a force of nature. You can aspire to sing like her, but don’t push it. We would like to see and hear you on TH-cam someday!

At 10 or 12 years old she has a word with a pianist. Preparing for a concert she had a word with the conductor.
No her parents sent her back to her Waldorf school. She had a couple events, singing for Quincy Jones birthday at the 02 Arena in London and at the Nobel Peace Ceremony. She has a wonderful multicultural background. Her father is Swedish, Grandmother is an Iranian artist and Grandfather Japanese. She was born in Oslo. She speaks 3 languages, plays multiple instruments, had a book of hers of the barefoot story published, and started writing her own music at 12... the first three are, What is Life?, Oslo, and Shield.
She has been singing at events around the world before AGTC.
She was given time to further evolve her voice and at the same time being allowed to be a kid. I think she grew up in the right country for that tbh.

Angelina does that to all of us, even after 2-3 years of steady listening she still puts us on our butts. Even at this age, actually she started earlier at 6yrs.old, she was arranging the music so it was like what she was hearing in her head. I read something from another commenter that at 6 yrs. she could be seen explaining to the bass player how she wanted him to play the song this way instead of the way it was being played. At the beginning of this song if you watch closely you see her writing down changes she wants the band to know about. You see the conductor looking at the changes and smiling and shaking his head, not in annoyance, but in a kind of disbelief that someone so young could know to do this. Not only, does she got this but you gotta have it this way!!! That last part always gets me, as I am in tears at this moment. She is just so special. The Queen Of Planet Jazz, now that has a nice ring to it. Thank you for your openness to even listen to her in the first place, but to embrace her as you have, thank you. Until the next time.

This has been ongoing for about 2 years now. She is beguiling, bewitching and mesmerizing. I am hopelessly addicted and no intervention will ever save me.

I have felt from the start that Angelina is a Reincarnation of an old Blues and Jazz singer, like Billie Holiday for example. She came into this life with that feeling and knowledge in her Soul. That is why she can sing about experiences she's never had in this life. Oh, she's had them alright. 🕊🎶🕊 I saw a video of Angelina playing outside on a slide with her friends at the age she sang this song. She was like a little girl screaming as she went down the slide with her little friends. Seriously it does a trip to your head! Then she comes in and sings like this? She came from the planet "Talent" where everyone has some kind of super ability. She lived on the same street as Dimash and around the corner from Tiger Woods. She came in a rocket. She was wrapped in a blanket which her family made into the outfit she wore on AGT, with the leftovers making the mask in the "The Show Must Go On" video. Her only "Kryptonite" is the Hollywood Music Machine.. So far, her family has done a great job shielding her. Hopefully she never gets caught up by it.
