Lenny, I have your $35 holster for my G48, and I carry it outside at 2 o’clock with a zipped or buttoned jacket long enough to cover it. I’m slim, but inside scares me. Perhaps unnecessarily. But I draw faster from outside.
I got a gut and I carry appendix. With a holster that sits low enough it's not too pokey. And my gut hanging over the gun provides the ultimate concealment. Zero printing ever.
Put the pistol in a plastic sandwich bag and then put the pistol in your leather holster, then leave it there for a few days. You'll be suprised at how well this helps break in the holster. Saw this method on the "world wide web" a long time ago and works great.
Nice holster. I've carried in a leather holster for 30 years, mostly in a Galco, Sparks or Alessi. Recently I fell into the kydex cult when I got my 43 and 43X. That was a short lived experience. I have now gone back to leather and have never been happier, I spray a little silicone in the holster and let the gun sit in it for a few days before I start breaking it in with multiple draws.
I’m a new user of leather. I’ve been using a 1791 pancake holster for roughly a year now and it is very easy to forget that it’s there. Very comfortable.
I absolutely love leather holsters they might be a little bit more expensive but definitely worth it ❤. Love to see you showing leather holsters some love , from one glock fan boy to another ty.
I prefer OWB but carry IWB more often. And like your buddy, I prefer leather. Milt Sparks Summer Special 2 is my IWB of choice. G26.3, G19.5, and 1911s. I have one of the 1791 holsters for the G19.5 and it works well.
Thank you for covering this topic. I have a little beer gut and find a 3 or 4 clock holster the most comfortable. My choice is an El Paso Saddlery combat express. Take a look.
Kydex is a great option for those that like it.. I prefer leather holsters over Kydex everyday all day . Also a hybrid .. crossbreed holster is another excellent option if you like both
Hay Lenny although off subject you really need to look into your Shipping department, my slide cut took over 3 weeks, I just ordered a mag with x grip and it malfunctioned returned and have not received the replacement yet!!!!! its been 3 weeks. If this continues I don't think I will do business with the GS going forward!
Petroleum gel is a good choice. I use it on belts, shoes, bags as well as holsters. In addition to giving it a great feel, it replenished moisture that leather will lose over time. I rub in a coat when new and about once a year thereafter.
Thumb backing the slide to ensure it stays "in battery", preventing a possible malfunction. Don't be so quick to reholster, there was a justifiable reason you drew your defense tool, visually check for additional threats in a low ready stance. For IWB holsters, remove your empty holster, replace firearm into holster, then tuck and dress as you normally would. Thanks Lenny!
I wish I could find a good cheap/inexpensive leather IWB holster for my Canik tp9sf that is lip on for the 3 o'clock position. sorry I don't have any Glocks because cannot afford it. I got my Canik for half that price of a Glock 19 which if I had a Glock that is what I would get unless someone can recommend a similar Glock with the capacity of the 19 that is cheaper and be better. honestly I thinking about a PSA Dagger but i would like a Glock
I used to bring my leather holster in the bathroom while showering on the counter to "steam" it for the first week or so conditioning it twice a day for awhile
Leather holsters are ok but my favorite holsters keep the entire gun off your body. That is for me what makes a holster comfortable. I prefer N82 holsters for that reason.
To my knowledge, it is not a good idea to purchase some thing you had to wear it out before it fits perfect on concealed firearm. I think more design conceal holster out there.🤔
Hell no, you can’t put it in the oven to soften it up. You’ll dry it out and harden it I’ve been making leather holsters for 20 years you evidently know nothing about leather.!
Line it with wax paper, let it sit over night with the gun in it . Then do what your saying. Makes it a lot easier, funny there such little talk of leather any more ..
My experience with leather holster, soak it in water, wrap the gun up in plastic like a sandwich bag and then put it in the holster and let it sit a couple hours and then work it in and out and in and out and then take the plastic off you’ll see that that will work
Wrong if anything, you use a little neatsfoot oil on the inside of the holster if the holster hasn’t been sealed and then work your gun in and out of the holster and wear it till it breaks in do not soak it in water you’re just taking out the oils, you’re drying out the leather And that’ll just break the leather down!
The BIGGEST thing I DON’T 😡like about belt fed holster, is that I have to put the firearm in the holster after it’s already on me. For that reason, I ALWAYS holster the firearm before I clip the holster to my waist. If for ANY REASON I draw my firearm out of the holster, I will always remove the holster, re-holster the firearm, and place it back on my waist. For whatever reason, yes, I don’t put my firearm in my holster when I’m putting on a belt fed holster. I run the risk of catching clothing or anything really, in the trigger guard, and potentially firing the firearm.
@@BWHeitmann pay attention, look at my emails that I have sent you and have been responded to. Don't play, process teh return, pay for the opostage mistake you made. I am not alone. Howdy, Lenny! So, I've followed your advice and put a Holosun on my Glock17. I'm a retrograde ( carried East-German made Makarov for years) , but after about 500 rd with a red dot( including a few times through a "kill house") I say it's worth it. Thanks a bunch for the info on that. Now, are there holsters like this for Glock17( optics and raised sights)?
Do you carry inside or outside the waistband?
Depends on the season. Summer - inside, winter - outside the waistband.
Lenny, I have your $35 holster for my G48, and I carry it outside at 2 o’clock with a zipped or buttoned jacket long enough to cover it. I’m slim, but inside scares me. Perhaps unnecessarily. But I draw faster from outside.
Outside
I got a gut and I carry appendix. With a holster that sits low enough it's not too pokey. And my gut hanging over the gun provides the ultimate concealment. Zero printing ever.
I carry outside cross draw. Works well when driving and I can get into my right pocket where I carry everything

Ya I go Galco. It's just good material.
I don't find Leather to be more expensive. With some shopping you can usually find some great deals. Especially in brick and mortar stores.

I bought a BRAVO Concealment holster pan cake holster for my Glock 23 gen 40 cal and I loved it

HUGE fan of my 1791 holster.
Huge fan of leather but not a 1 size fits many. I recommend TT Gunleather, Kramer Leather, or Milt Sparks. Lead times are long but worth it.
Great message Lenny. I've always loved the feel of leather! 👍 I usually carry outside but always have a shirt or jacket over it.
I would love to see how Lenny has his personal glock setup.
That video is searchable on his YT channel.
Which leather holster is the leather one that accepts suppressors height sight?
Should you use Leather conditioner to help break it in?
Petroleum gel is a good choice. I use it on belts, shoes, bags as well as holsters. In addition to giving it a great feel, it replenished moisture that leather will lose over time. I rub in a coat when new and about once a year thereafter.
No!
I need a leather holster with light for my g27
Hey Lenny think that for new reflex fn 9mm

Will that holster work for my Glock 48 ??? Thanks
Alright, Lenny. Time to make a workout video.
Do you have an IWB for a 43x /optics and stream light?
Which streamlight?
@@BWHeitmann I think it’s a 4…it does not protrude past the end of the barrel. A 100 lumen light w/laser.

hey lenny were you a x body builder?
I solve this problem by building my own, being a leather-crafter. (Im also fat enough to conceal-carry a Ruger Super Blackhawk w/7 1/2" barrel!!) 😏
My Sticky LG-2 Holster is by far the most comfortable and best CCW holster ever. Gun comes out fast and quietly. My Glock 23 loves being in there.
That is nice

That's the beauty of wearing animal hide. It gets better as you wear it.
Maybe you are right it’s up to customer perspective .
Can put it in the oven with baseball glove leather conditioner on it to soften it up the put the gun in and conform it to the gun.

Don't like putting a gun above my crank. Just me.
