I sang this to my wife at our wedding in 1983. She, however she said I murdered it. I'm guessing it's not a song for a baritone, she told me I was of better sticking to my drumming. I thought it was an appropriate song as I was in the Royal Marine Commandos, I had returned from the war for the Falkland Islands when I proposed, and now was shipping out to Sierra Leone two days later, so much for my attempt at being romantic. On the upside she liked me in my Dress Uniform, and having my comrades forming the sword tunnel helped. I must have done something write because we're still together and she still puts up with my singing. With 4 children and 7 grandchildren, we got busy on 3 of our baby's when I was home, we adopted the young afghan woman and her 2 daughters at the end of 2015 after they saved my life in Afghanistan (a story for another time), and we are so much better for having them, we love all our family and that is our strength. I served my Queen and Country for 34 years in the Royal Marine Commandos and later in the British Special Forces, and then 2 years in hospital, and she stuck by me even though I'm mainly wheelchair bound now. We do actually have a song by Queen called "Your Me Best Friend", a very apt song as she has been my best friend since we were both 15.
@@MrsPenPal Thank you, here is a part of my family history. My Father and Grandma were Berlin Jews who escaped Germany in 1937 leaving the bulk of the family in Germany, all but one died in the many Camps set up around eastern Europe. My Father joined up in 1938 and become an Anti Aircraft gun loader, he was lucky and escaped from Dunkirk. Before he knew it he was sent to Scotland and joined what was then just called Commandos. He finished a lifetime of service as a Colonel in Her Majesty's Royal Marine Commandos from 1940 till 1981. He retired in 1981 after Serving at NATO H.Q. in Brussels, Belgium. So I was an army baby, and always wanted to follow in my fathers and older brothers shoes. I was born in Hong Kong, my Mother was part Chinese and died when I was 6. I grew up calling elderly women "Good Mother", which I always said to older women when I was sent to other Countries. When we moved to England, I found it hard to get used to the change in culture. I met my wife and owner when we were at school, I fell in love with her at first sight, and we had our oldest daughter when we were just 16. I did any job I could to support my young family until I was 17. Two weeks after my Father retired he co-signed my paperwork for me to follow in the family tradition by joining Her Majesty's Royal Marine Commandos on my 17th birthday. Making me his 8th son to join the Royal Marine Commandos, and my older sister who had joined Royal Military Medical Corp as a Trauma and General Surgeon who has, over the years, operated on me three times in my career. After 32 weeks of basic training, 16 weeks of Arctic and Survival training I was sent with part of my Regiment 42 Commando, to the Falkland Islands in 1982, when Argentina invaded the Falklands and other British territories in the South Atlantic. I was just 18 years old back then and it was the first time I was wounded. On June the 14th I sat on a pavement in capital, Stanley having my frozen, wet and shredded feet treated by a medic and a young local girl (about 12) when 3 of my brothers came and sat beside me. One of my brothers jabbed me in the ribs as we smoked, I felt a sharp pain, the medic checked my ribs and discovered I had been lucky and only received a graze from an enemy bullet. My brother started laughing, and told me I'd finally lost my virginity. That was the first time I was wounded. I have served my Queen and Country on every Continent. My Regiment was in a refugee camp 85 at the height of the famine Ethiopia. We listened to Live Aid on the radio. We were surrounded be the horror of the Famine, but when Queen came on the radio those poor soles who were there amazed us and reacted in a very positive way. It was only then that it felt like the rich country's finally realised what was actually happening to these innocent people. I remember that a lot of us Royal Marine Commandos were crying watching some of the children dancing along, I'm teary eyed just remembering. I looked around at men I had fought alongside, who were tough, hardened Royal Marine Commando's who had fought a life and death war against Argentinian's for the Falkland Islands in 1982. By the end of Queen's set we were dancing with the children. It went along way to help build their trust in us. The famine is one of the worst memories I have. And I hate to say I've seen a hell of a lot worse. I've was sent to fight in the Balkans and was in both invasions of Iraq and the war on "Terror". Multiple postings to Iraq, Afghanistan and other hot zones. Myself and a fellow old timer in the Royal Marine Commandos used to sing "Queen", "Electric Light Orchestra" and "Thin Lizzy" songs when we came under fire to calm the younger boys by taking their minds off the incoming fire, and yes they thought we were mad. After we had finished our assignment or patrol and we had returned to base, either in Iraq or Afghanistan, we would sing E.L.O.s' song "I'm Alive". I also sang it at his funeral which put as smile on his widow's face. On a different occasion when I was wounded, on 14 September, 2014 my son broke me out of military hospital to go to this concert because he knew I loved E.L.O. I served in the Royal Marine Commandos and British Special Forces for 34 years and have no regrets. My fellow old timer had been killed at the same time I was wounded on that occasion. At the time I was in the Special Forces we used to be dropped into regular outfits to keep us at full readiness, and back in the U.K. we worked in Hospitals to maintain our medical knowledge. So my son knew seeing E.L.O. in Hyde Park would give me a bit of a pick me up. He also did it again and took me to Glastonbury in 2016 on another occasion I didn't keep my head down and forgot to duck, a couple of months later I was told I would never be an "active" Trooper again. After being declared fit at the end of 2014, I returned to my Regiment of "Irregulars" as we called ourselves, and we returned to Afghanistan in 2015. My team were patrolling the mountain villages along the border with Pakistan looking for Taliban smuggling routs. When we came under aggressive sustained fire. We managed to get the civilians inside and under cover while returning fire, and managed to call in for air and ground support. The village was being attacked on 2 sides so it made it easier for the 4 of us to defend using "fire and move", and the occasional grouping fire tactics. There were between 30 to 40 Taliban attacking, trying to press us harder, that's when I heard a crack followed by a ringing deafness. And at that moment my career as an active duty Trooper ended, apparently an Rocket Propelled Grenade round hit a wall 5 feet away from me and I was thrown through the air about 25 feet and I hit a wall. The woman of the house dragged me into her home as I was struck by 2 more rounds, and my legs and lower back were on fire. She is the bravest person I have ever known. Between her and her oldest daughter they kept me alive for 25 minutes until the area was reclaimed and made safe so a helicopter could come in and retrieve me. But all I remember about that was holding her hand and refusing to let go, so she and her 2 daughters were flown out with us. There is a happy piece of news as to how I've ended up mainly wheelchair bound. The wonderful women who saved my life now lives here in the U.K. almost next door to us. If they had been left in Afghanistan the Taliban would have killed them after we had left the village. My Commanding Officer put a huge amount of pressure on our Ambassador and the Home Office to get them relocated to England, also my daughter and oldest son sponsored them. My amazing wife decided that adopting would let them know that they were part of our family. Now they live in a house 5 doors away from myself and the boss, erm my wife, and I am kept very much in check by my second daughter and my two new granddaughters, who have all changed their last names to match the rest of our family. I do have a lot of physical disabilities an suffer from P.T.S.D. and depression. At the start of 2015 I had 1 daughter, 2 sons and 4 grand children. When I was still going through long hospitalisations on many occasions and massive bouts of physical and mental pain I would always look towards my family for strength, and they always have given it to me. But thanks to the "big guy in the sky" as my father used to call God. I have the worlds greatest woman as my wife, I also now have 2 amazing daughters, 2 sons (who I will never let go to war) and 7 wonderful grandchildren who remind me how amazing life is everyday. And even though I have a significant amount of physical pain that will never go away, and that's O.K. I'm used to it. The P.T.S.D and depression is the hardest to handle, but my family and music is always there. A little bit more icing on the cake of life is that I took both my daughters to see E.L.O. (Electric Light Orchestra) at Wembley on the 24 June 2017. Now my daughters Dawn and Laaibah now the joy E.L.O. can put in your heart when you need it, plus the other 59,997 people who were there enjoyed it too. And I love annoying Laaibah by murdering Pashto and Dari when she tries to teach me better Afgan. I sing to my wife every day and at night, the song I sing the most is called "My Love" by Paul McCartney when he was in "Wings". If you want to hear it, hears a link th-cam.com/video/ZmjN1O1ejS4/w-d-xo.html Also Alice Coopers two songs "You And Me" th-cam.com/video/WlxcI-Ejkbs/w-d-xo.html and "How You Gonna See Me Now" th-cam.com/video/X7jYw4VZC0c/w-d-xo.html because I was scared that my injuries might be too much for her to take on, but I could not have been more wrong. I even accidentally named my youngest granddaughter while holding her on the day she was born by singing Thin Lizzy's "Sarah" th-cam.com/video/z6ALdt53-_4/w-d-xo.html big OOP's. Music has and always been a big part of our lives and always will be. My Father and Grandma always taught me never to hate anyone just because of their colour, religion or if they're gay. So for all our fellow citizens on our planet who are sharing these uncertain time's, though things seem and are almost unbearable with the terrible loss and suffering so many are going through, we as a human race will make it through the epidemic. We just can't loose our humanity. And I am sending you love from my family and myself xxx
This was absolutely the best reaction to this song. You waited until the end to say anything without the constant interruptions. I don’t know what happened but on every other video replay of this song with other reactions, this is the first one that had that end note perfect. I remember watching this back in the 60’s.I also enjoyed watching.
Awwh thanks, a lot of videos actually get blocked when you let it play through due to copyrights. So pausing to debrief while you watch is actually a wise thing to do as no one knows in advance which videos they will allow our viewers see or which ones they will block
Whoever did the musical arrangement to this most beautiful of ballads has to be applauded. They made sure to have the violins be the focal point in this the best version of them all. With the late great Bobby Hatfield's high falsetto tenor voice adding the beauty and reverence to this masterpiece. It is no wonder after 60 years this version has become the quintessential version of them all. And people from all over the world are witnessing one of the greatest live performances that took place back in 1965 for the first time. The rest as they say is history...
This was our first dance at our wedding and, almost 30 years later, whenever my husband wraps his arms around me I still get butterflies. Love him and this song so much.
She is right. He was loved by women for his voice and looks. In this live show in 1965 he was perfection. Can tell she has the soul and heart to appreciate this. She would love alot of music by both the Righteous Bros. He was Bobby Hatfield solo Bute he and Bill Melody was wonderful together ❤. UNFORTUNATELY Bobby passed away in 2003 shortly after they were inducted into the ROCK and ROLL HALL OF FAME.Bill Melody is still performing to this day.
Stopping is a better practice though. Due to copyrights when reviewing copyrighted content if you do not stop you stand a high risk of being blocked and eventually you could loose your channel if you get a number of copyright right strikes.
This Bobby's song! I watched him this on TV in 1965. We were crying and had goosebumbs! He was so awesome! I was in high school at that time. I was so lucky to grow up with such beautiful music. His voice is raw talent!❤

It is so much fun to watch a new generation of women swoon over Bobby Hatfield half a decade later. Of course, you need to meet the other "brother" in You've Lost That Loving Feeling.
That little stunned pause right after the song ended is so telling. This song is perfect--vocal quality, pitch, phrasing, emotion, incredible octave range. Those reactors who know music and appreciate a good performance always have that breathless pause while they process the perfection and scramble for what to say. Great reacting! You made me appreciate it even more.

Your story is so beautiful 💕
Wow you have such a rich heritage. Thanks for sharing 💕
5 months later and yours is still one of the best reactions!
This was the beginning of Blue Eyed Soul in the 60's!
Best reaction ever!! And Bobby is the smoothest, you're so right.....
Thanks Lynn this was disarming ❤️
The right singer and the right song just sometimes comes together to make a beautiful moment in time.
You said this so well Richard!!!!!!!!
This was our first dance at our wedding and, almost 30 years later, whenever my husband wraps his arms around me I still get butterflies. Love him and this song so much.
The range Bobby had and the control was just amazing! No auto tune & singing it Live! Who can do that?!!
This is live no auto tune, computers. Just straight talent. This is why no artist today will compare to the artist from the past
I could see her turn to jelly and fall a little bit in love.
Hi Louise 💕
All women do lol.
Always loved this song. Loved it, thanks so much MrsPenPal!!
It's great that you let the song play through without stopping it like so many others do. Thank you. Good job. Good luck.
Stopping is a better practice though. Due to copyrights when reviewing copyrighted content if you do not stop you stand a high risk of being blocked and eventually you could loose your channel if you get a number of copyright right strikes.
Your cute! I really liked your reaction! Bless you!
Shawn 🎼🎃💙🦋🐾🐈
This Bobby's song! I watched him this on TV in 1965. We were crying and had goosebumbs! He was so awesome! I was in high school at that time. I was so lucky to grow up with such beautiful music. His voice is raw talent!❤
Yes indeed
great reaction to a great video , more importantly, a song that has stood the test of time a will forever be immortalized. I also wish to thank you for NOT stopping the video numerous times , that is so frustrating from this end. Dr G
Not Only the singer is beautiful , YOU TOOOOO ! Amazing ! I like your smile , and the color of your skin! And your comments are fantastic ! Thanks !
It is so much fun to watch a new generation of women swoon over Bobby Hatfield half a decade later. Of course, you need to meet the other "brother" in You've Lost That Loving Feeling.
Love the way you let him sing.
This has been one of my favorite songs since I first heard the record my parents played when I was a child. Phenomenal reactions!
Oh wow happy to have done your favorite song💕
That little stunned pause right after the song ended is so telling. This song is perfect--vocal quality, pitch, phrasing, emotion, incredible octave range. Those reactors who know music and appreciate a good performance always have that breathless pause while they process the perfection and scramble for what to say. Great reacting! You made me appreciate it even more.
No Auto-TUne, No vocal filters, no tricks, just raw singing talent. From the 60's with poor audio tech. Many children were created because of this man.
👑
That is hands down the best reaction to this song I've ever seen. One of just a handful of songs that send shivers down my spine too.
Thanks Steven. Do stop by my second channel and listen to my latest single “ Sunshine” th-cam.com/video/NTcdqiQytXg/w-d-xo.html Remember to subscribe so you don’t miss my new songs
Isnt he adorable? Lol. An amazing performance & voice! 💕💕
This live version is even better than the studio recorded version! He sings with such perfection!
Hi Judi 💕wow that’s so cool
The absolute best way to listen to this song is on the dance floor with you man, in my case Woman!
I will let Jason know 💕
So happy to see people love this song so much. I've loved it my whole life.
Bill Medley Has a new partner ( Bobby Hatfield died) and they play in Vegas. I saw them Twice and all the ladies were ??? This is when you had to have talent. No machines to make you sound good when you are not that good. Sometimes "Old-School" is the Best School. I was a manager for ASCAP and went to Berklee School of music in Boston. Long live "Old-School" Garrison, Vegas
You are adorable! Great reaction! I love seeing people react to songs that I have listened to forever. I am so thankful to my parents for giving me a love for music that too many people don't have.
Oh girl! 😂 I swear, you have the same reaction as pretty much all women when listening to this song. 😂🤣😂🤣
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 seriously this kind of charm 😭😭😭😭😅
Hell I'm a totally straight man with a wife and three kids and it does the same thing to me!
clean up in aisle two.
@@jlogan2228 Hahaha! So true 🤣
Loved your reactions to this beautiful song! Thank you for sharing it with us and also for not pausing it to comment. Your reactions said it all. I could tell you had goosebumps. I had tears.
RIP Bobby Hatfield
😭😭😭
After hearing this song so many times its awesome to see someone's 1st time reaction. It melts your heart doesn't it
Hi Joe. Welcome to the PenPal Family 💕
@@MrsPenPal happy to be here 😁
Awwh 🦋 🦋🌼🌸🦋
Thanks for not pausing the performance.
Consider yourself blessed that you got to experience this classic! Great singers and songs are timeless like fine wine, they get better with age!
PS your skin is flawless!
What men learn from this ~All women need to be romanced and treated with respect and gentleness. They all need to be caressed and admired like the beautiful flowers that they are, and will always be. A wonderful reaction, Mrs PenPal. You're so lovely. Thank You. :)
I read somewhere than he was nervous because his parents were in the audience, but he definitely nailed that!
Wow that’s awesome what a day that must have been
Because you're a singer, you'll be able to bring addtional insight to performances -- For "Blue-Eyed" soul try also the Bee Gees -- "How Deep Is Your Love" (official video) is a great song to start with. Thanks for a super reaction to "Unchained Melody."
For your love by Righteous Brothers is awesome. Its beautiful 😀.
This a time when men call girl darling, not like now !!!!!!!!!!!!!
To be fair, Frank Sinatra and the boys called women dames and broads. I guess that’s better than bitches and hoes
You are amazing, your reaction to this song made me have the same reaction to you. Your eyes and smile are magic!
Bobby Hatfield and Bill Medley are known as the Righteous Brothers
I don’t know what was more beautiful, the song, or you and your reaction? ❤️🇬🇧
💕🇬🇧 💕
Beautiful reaction to the righteous bros, they are definitely one of my favorites to watch. Would you do a Elvis reaction to One night with you from the 68 comeback special. I promise you will love it but be careful he will steal your heart
Welcome to the PenPal Family. Thank you 💕
The shiver you did…that was on another level.
“You’ve Lost That Loving Feeling”
Agreed, that is the next song to listen to...
You are my favorite reaction for this song! I could actually falling in love with him and his beautiful song!
They don't sing Love songs like this anymore
One thing for certain and two things for sure You are beautiful and so is this song. Thank you for posting.🙏
When Bobby sang this, you could hear panties hitting the floor.
🤦🏽♂️🤣
Yea still making women get all moist from hearing his voice lol
55 years later. They still do...
The song, and your reaction, just a little bit of heaven. Thank you so very much.
Awwh thanks Edward lovely to see you in the PenPal Family 💕
You need to listen to his song "EBB Tide". Also, You've Lost that Loving Feeling!
Hi Bill thank you. Please keep reminding me 💕
Beautiful song. Beautiful voice. And my God, he is physically beautiful 😍
Hello Fatima 💕
There a lot of songs from this time period, that have that affect,,,,,
Brain F^^t for specifics.... Righteous Brothers definatly are ONE
Beautifully described thank you, Unchained Melody is timeless, 54 years later. ❤️
Righteous Brothers You've Lost That Loving Feeling and Soul and Inspiration, both live and in that order.
If you want some of their blues, I Just Want To Make Love To You (studio)
MrsPenPal is the real angel! Simply stunning!
Thanks for your generous words
Thank you for respecting the artist and allowing the song to play out before commenting...disruptions with personal comments during a performance break up the flow and experience that a piece of music can have...how the music was affecting you personally during the the performance needed no words.
a live song no electronics nochting only a voice a soul and talent
When people had to actually have a good voice no dodgy sound effects just true voice
LIKED YOUR REACTION TO ONE OF THE MOST UNDERRATED SINGERS OF ONE OF THE GREATEST LOVE SONGS EVER..........
I really don't think anyone else can sing like him .Beautiful song, you really enjoyed it.
All the best sweet thing. Your reaction is what this song was built for.
Love it !! Great song. When you turned your eyes to the camera, you invited us in to feel what you were feeling. Love it !!
I saw The Righteous Brothers live in concert in 1965. I really enjoy these videos from you gorgeous black women watching and enjoying this classic music.
I love your reaction and you are a very beautiful lady . Thanks.
LOL I saw these men live and they belted out all their top songs. People were dancing in the isles and there were a couple of the ladies that fainted. The Righteous Brothers were the most requested songs at dances and weddings and it sure was nice getting up close with the lady I was with . Now you know i;m very old but still love these songs.
What means "very old"? We say " you are always as old as you feel" and age doesn't feel about musik. From GER
Half the music these days don't hold a candle to the oldies. As a Elvis fan this type of music has smothered my soul and I love it!!! Keep rockin chick!!
i am 72, when that song cameout in 1965. i went to alot of dances, the 50,and 60,s are full of artists like this.
Wonderful to watch your reaction, as you have joined the legion of fans of Bobby Hatfield and his talent. He knew how to sing a love song and caress his listeners.
Watching your reactions on this song is good for this old man's circulation. Thank you MrsPenPal. 😉
I love your reaction and thanks do you and others like you these beautiful songs will not be lost time in history.
