    Great video, really appreciate the review on a solar-powered, wi-fi camera. I have a site with a use case that would fit this, and like you said, most brands of this spec are garbage. This is so close to being a viable alternative that if it had ONVIF support I would probably get it. The site in question will eventually get a Ubiquiti Protect system and we'll most likely spring for cabling it at the same time so a G5 PTZ camera can be used, but this could have made for a functional alternative in the meantime.

      Yeah, that is one of the reasons it is "almost perfect" although I didn't mention ONVIF. It is a great camera, and I have used it for about two weeks with no issues (other than learning to manage battery life).

    Was that an Ibis in the night time footage? I'm not sure what I'm more jealous for, the camera or the fact you have a tennis court 😅

      No, it is a possum. I have now learnt it uses the fence to get up into a tree 😁
      The best tennis court is someone else's though. So. Much. Maintenance.

    Good morning Lars, does it support ONVIF and have you tried importing it into Unifi Protect ?

      Reolink WiFi cameras don't support ONVIF, so I didn't add that to the video. Full video on the Protect ONVIF support in the works though. 🙂

      I think many of us would love an ONVIF solar Wi-Fi camera that works with UniFi It’s disappointing that uniFi haven’t produced something along these lines, it’s a big hole in their camera line.

    • @LarsKlintTech
      @LarsKlintTech  15 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

       @biochemscott It's a really tricky problem to solve, and I would imagine UniFi won't compromise on user experience, such as running out of power early, or having a limited recording schedule. I can see why they haven't got one, but would love to see one nonetheless 🙂

    Testing it now, a bit disappointed. It is RTSP only (and must be connected to the Reolink Hub gateway - to get RTSP support). Now waiting for either UniFi's new ONVIF feature to add RTSP support or for Reolink to add ONVIF to their Home Hub gateway and then it could incorporated into UniFi Protect NVR directly.

      @LarsKlintTech  13 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา +1

      Disappointed about ONVIF or something else? I haven't got the Hub, so I couldn't test that, but thanks for sharing. The camera is great, and ONVIF and slightly better charging would make it near perfect.

    • @DoItForMeSolutions
      @DoItForMeSolutions 10 ชั่วโมงที่ผ่านมา

      @@LarsKlintTech Lack of ONVIF. The basic Reolink Home Hub is only $99 which would be a worthwhile added cost to get a battery camera with full night vision and reasonable continuous recording time on battery into UniFi Protect - or other NVR.
      1-off cameras are fine for niche uses, but having everything in a single NVR system is much more desirable - especially since UniFi does not have good choices for night vision cameras at this time - with or without battery support.
      As soon as you want to have multiple cameras, juggling them in several different apps can quickly become problematic, especially for other users that are not tech savvy and nimble at constantly switching between multiple apps.
