I have been looking and looking for a video like this explain the hunting horn, and the google sheet? That explains the songs durations, mechanics, and what they do *exactly*? My gods you are a blessing, thank you so much.
Slight Corrections: - Corrections to the Sharpness Loss Reduced song, it gives the equivalent of 2x times sharpness, not 1.5x. So it is a bigger increase in damage than what was explained in the video. - I am still unsure how earplugs stacks. This was brand new info to me while editing this video. My previous footage from rise shows it doesn't stack so take this with a grain of salt, I haven't had time to properly test how staking works. I can only say that EP (s) + EP Lvl 2 did reduce the stun from Narwa's roar for me. EDIT: after talking with a commenter, it seems that the stacking the song and skill does NOT work for roar negation but it does work for getting the roar stun reduction (really weird) - For song effect range, buffing buddies IS effected by maximum volume. With no modifiers, it is ~4 rolls away and with modifiers, it increases to the range mentioned in the video. Ill update this with any additional info I find :)
I subscribed for clean speedruns and additionally got pure gold in form of well-explained in-depth horn mechanics. Your presentation is great too. Love these little transition shots when changing topic. a huge Thanks to you and the team from the horn pub for doing all this research!
Really well-made in-depth explanation video for HH, Zook!! I'm not a HH user but I still very much appreciate the time and effort went into making this video. It's very informative!! Thanks, Zook & Horn Pub team! 🧡
Thanks for the handy info in regards to the songs! With Sunbreak having the incredibly fun Silkbind Shockwave I decided to actually [mostly] get over my grumpiness over the feel of the Rise HH and this cleared up some information regarding some of the specifics like how new maestro worked and what sonic barrier did specifically. I also wasn't aware that infernal melody overwrote the attack up song which is kind of sad, but understandable. I've been trying out elemental HH and its nice to have bead giving out the attack up song so I dont feel as bad running horns without it.
Guide for hh: self improve at the start of battle, and save a trio song on scroll then you get a strong opening attack, then spam away with healing when needed and attack with 2 notes before swapping attacks, it makes combos more fluent
Thank you so much for the video!! I’m a HH player this really helped me. Can you make a video about your dps combo and strategies on silk binds? I wish to understand why you do the combos you do and why you use the silkbinds you use. Also a video explaining how different silkbinds would change your gear/combos/play style
I don't really have a healing build off hand. I would just recommend sticking to an elemental horn that has a healing melody and using BoR to give ourselves attack up. It is always better to sheath and use Dust of Life or lifepowders if you want to heal a teammate. The healing songs are more just to help with the effects of dereliction or bloodlust, not heal from significant damage caused from getting hit.
Im not really sure how i feel about Rise HH but i love the content anyways. I do have a question though. Does the new Swing Combo get much use in speedruns or regular hunts? Ive yet to see anyone use it.
It does have usefulness if you are playing with performance mode but because echo mode was buffed, most speedruns will stick to Crush > Overhead Slam > Chord loops.
Sadly I did not. But with how most people proc sonic waves, you are usually close enough to attack the monster anyways. I will be home from work later tonight and can run into the training room to see if it effects anything, I'll re-repy with any info I find.
Thank you for this guide. In rise I swapped to hammer, but then when I tried to go back to hunting horn I was a little overwhelmed. By the way, I see people spamming performance+crush, but in which scenarios are better to use swing combos or multi-crush?
ill cover this more in the next video but if you are in performance mode or using an elemental hunting horn there are some other combos we can use like Overhead Slam > Kick > Multicrush, or just Overhead Slam > Double Swing Loop
I don't believe it does but you have to hit the monster to trigger the shockwave anyways, most of the time they are close enough to get hit by the bubble
I was wondering what ur go to sets are for runs? Is higher element preferred or higher raw, does attack up melody play any factor, and is there any raw build that can compete with elemental horns? Also wondering what ur take is on dereliction and bloodlust, is it better to go for full archfiend set or pop on the shagaru helm for added bloodlust, and is it then better to also swap out the chest and gloves for more skill efficient pieces? It's been hard to find any solid info for the hh while all the other weaps seem to have everything figured out already as it's much more clear cut.
Uuh, let me try to break down my answer into pieces The reason there is a lot of fluid information is because a lot of math is still being worked out and runners haven't had time to try to push matchups one way or another. Element is definitely the way to go but how we build our sets will be matchup dependent, with how close endgame horns are to one another we can take an elemental horn and build it for raw dmg or pump the element. I personally like the double drain, dereliction with bloodlust but I am mostly fighting monster with 25+ elm HZV's, the drain is rough but the damage is noticeable. I would recommend checking out this pastbin for horns you will want to get: pastebin.com/eFF3e8dV Its hard to say one way or another what is the best to do right now. There is also the topic of god charms vs non-god charms because the double drain sets need decent charms. iirc its around 5 point + charms. I would recommend subscribing to th-cam.com/users/LaoShanDestroyer as he is with the group in the Horn Pub working considering a lot of the possible sets, and I am sure he will be making a video soon on meta sets for Sunbreak 1.0. I will probably put out some build videos soon but I want to work on runs and resource guides first. But you are always welcome to ask questions on any videos at any time or @ me in discord and I can try to answer!
@@Zook0001 Thanks for the answer and the info. I figured double drain ele would be the best if you can deal with it. I'll definitely be keeping up with the info and ur runs to see how things shape out. It seems like horn is finally shaping up to be a weapon with really competitive times.
Thanks for the video. I did a test in training room and found incorrect info about earplug (s) and wind pressure negated. Earplug(s) song is not stack with earplug skill and Wind pressure negated song can nullify dragon wind pressure.
How were you testing these in the training room? Against Kushala's black wind, I was still being pushed with WPN active. For earplugs, I still get the same reduction with EP(s) + EP2 on sunbreak final boss as EP5.
Out of curiosity, what was your frame data for EP2,4 &5 on the dumby? This might help with learning why my data on narwa showed the reduced roar duration.
Do you mean the armor or the HH? The HH is probably our second best option for dragon element HH, but outclassed by Shaggy horn. The set isn't used much anymore now that was have better options like the final boss set and Arc equipment.
Absolutely love the esthetic of the music with your voice. And very informative:)
Thank you! I think this is the first compliment I've gotten on my voice, everyone says I sound like Kermit 😭

what hh did you use at 5:37?

Also cool vid
Sadly, yes. It is the Doot Range deco. I am sure the localization team had fun naming this one.

This was not a mod. I edited this in by hand to better show what I was trying to explain
Mm ok.
