Great overview and demo. I’m interested in a dsp that does what the Dayton 4 x 8 does, but offers more bands to play with for each channels independent parametric eq. Not everyone needs summing capabilities. And in order to get those added bands to play with , you have to purchase a dsp that has summing, which is three times the price. I know at that 300$ or under price point to have those features is unrealistic at this point in car audio, but I think it’ll get there some day. Anyways, you guys are awesome. Thanks for continuing to bring top notch content.
Look at the Rockford Fosgate DSR1. Dean and Fernando already did a video of it.
Its pretty hard at that price point but the dsr1 has like 30 bands per channel
do you get two subwoofer out puts with this?
I want to run a 3 way system with this so I will need two low range outputs

Only problem is that the factory EQ changes as you turn up and down the volume.

I have jeep grand Cherokee that I plan on upgrading the sound system and I have the pac audio unit to add to it. Would this be a good choice to add to the my system build? Seems extremely useful.
Hello, what kind of lightning cable are you using? The apple lightning cable isn’t working. Only amazon basic 4 in lightning cable works.
What happens if you're not using component speakers? I have 2 sets of coaxials in my front and rear doors...
does it has the capability to act as a band pass filter to filter a certain range or frequency?? its just that am using 4 midrange speakers and want to limit 100Hz
I connects my iphone to DEQ-S1000A and makes my preference in audio route "car stero" mode and saves it. The moment I disconnect the phone from the DSP the set preference get resets. Is anything missing from my side or is my device working wrongly ?
So would this not be a good unit for playing music in a 64 impala or is this best used for newer vehicles to work with factory stereo?

hi fellas i just bought this and have it all working with my factory HU . i then have RCA from the deq to my pioneer amps but now my volume dosnt work with the head unit just the remote for the DEQ HELP PLEASE

After you did the calibration , when you unplug the iphone thru usb port. Does the calibration store in processor memory?

Looks like its made for new vehicles that do not have premium factory amplified systems. allows for aftermarket sound without spending 700 bucks on a dash kit/interface harness

Interested to see a stock head unit rta, then install this unit and run the rta again to see how much it corrects bass roll off. This is a lot cheaper than a JL Fix if it works just as good.
Does it use a mic (iPad) in your case to do the calibration or is it all done internally by the DSP without a mic?

If you wanted network mode plus rear fill could you maybe use 2 of these if running components in the rear? Using 1 run from the front row and 1 from the rear rca of the Head unit?
Yes you could you can also split the front signal as long as you are not using any processing on the headunit side
Great review! is that possible to play music from another app or just through pioneer sound tune?... Because pioneer sound tune doesn't support flacs files, what's a shame.

but they can't produce what they don't receive.
basicly the same as a PA dsp system.
they're basicly a crossover and equalizer in one.

Ill save myself money and keep my old 80prs. Will look into it once i plan to upgrade the wifes car keeping the stock headunit.

you need the pioneer micro bypass relay they sell on Ebay and Amazon. It will work with the green just grounded but some menus and features won't be available without the bypass relay.

So this will correct factory bass roll off when it is calibrated with the audio file (audiophile lol) from the website? What I mean is so so I wouldn’t need an AudioControl LC2i with Accubass for example
Phil Moore yes it will sum the signal and add the missing low frequencies that are lost from factory head units. The app also has a trademarked bass restoration feature, which is Pioneer’s version of Accubass..

Just outta curiosity, you wouldn’t use this in conjunction with a new pioneer head unit right? This is basically all the same stuff that’s in their higher end head units already right? I’m guessing this is an add on to a factory radio?

likely nothing, the Pioneer DSP just mirrors the signal you feed it from the front speakers to the rear RCA outputs of the unit so you no longer have fade control.
I have android Atoto A6 pro 10'' and will be using the rca outs.Would installing the app into my headunit work and be able to see and use the app on my android headunit screen?

@@jermainerobbins I used the left right wires instead of rca(Manual has pics)I talked with someone on reddit that is familier with audio and this unit.Using the wires was the better way to go for more control in my case.
Unit works like a charm and made really noticable difference for sure.
remember to set fader on headunit to 100% front after finishing and listening.

Hello just wondering if you can help ive bought the Pioneer DEQS1000A-I and seem to be getting a huge amount of hiss.. even when my headunit is not connected. its not an digital interference hiss or ground loop it cannot be removed with EQ either.. the signal to noise ratio on the spec is good.. so no idea why its doing it 😞
MyWayStudios i have this too, at first i max out dsp volume and use headunit to control volume which causing hiss sound. I solve it by max out undistorted volume and control volume at dsp...hiss gone

rice kake it’s rated at 14 watts x 4 rms and 50 watts x 4 peak power. Realistically it’s going to only be around 14 watts a channel.

Just ground the PB cable
I literally just grounded it on the unit itself by unscrewing one of the body screws of the deq-s1000a a bit, and putting the wire behind it and screw it tight again.

Hello, good review, pretty complex. Can you please what is the role of that green wire, handbrake wire, because in the instructions says that if not connected, the dsp control functions will be limited.... And another question, by using android, do I have access to all features like Apple have?

The green is the parking brake.. Use a 2 or 3 pole switch... I use 3..and the grenn goes to acc... So add 12v power to power...green to acc and black ground. U have to pulse it.. So turn it on off on off... And bam... 4 pulses and the unit works great.... And yes Driod has full features... I am a Driod user... Son is apple... Did both... No loss
@@dnrink44 thanks. I'm telling you what I did to mine. I've connect the green wire to the ground (negative), like this the procesor is functional with the app all the time. Overall I don't like it. Because have just two channel input (front L+R or rear R+L), this means you have to choose which channel to give up and lose the information sent by that channel. You lose some factory warning chimes and parking sensors chimes. On my bmw e60 each parking sensor comunicate individual with related speaker ex: front /left pdc with F/L spk., front center pdc with both front L & R spk., on rear the same.
No auxiliary input, no Bluetooth.
My factory unit isn't sending a full range signal, because is designed to protect the speakers from low frequency, and this processor isn't restoring the restricted frequency. I had to buy a bass restoration processor, because all frequency under 50hz was reduced, all under 40hz was cut off completely.... So yeah, not so good for modern or complex factory headunits.

This unit come with 2channels input and 5channels output... you need to install aftermarket amplifier

Where can I get a T harness for this??
I had to get a Metra harness and cut into the front speaker outputs for a signal. Wish I'd just got the Metra Axxess DSP instead.

really wish they would make a double din version of the DEH80PRS or some sort of equivalent

This dsp has 2 channel rca in as well as a 2 channel hi-level input (the orange and brown wires in the harness)
lc7i has more inputs and can sum high-mid-low frequencies, but no sound processing other than their accubass technology. If you need more than 2 channels of input, you could use an lc7i to sum your signals and then feed a full-range signal to this dsp via RCA so that you can fine tune your system EQ, and also benefit from all the other features of the app
Is there any eqs out there with the sound field controls??? I had a pioneer deq9200 and the sound was amazing like the jazz or stadium setting...please help me find another eq that can do that

If your trying to do a bypass... It's a pulse wire... You will need to feed it power on off 4 times

@@dnrink44 I have contacted the pioneer technical service, and he tells me that I can connect it to the car's chassis. That's what I've done and it works.

Your headunit should have everything this unit offers
bigrobstillpimpn exactly. This is meant for adding a system to a factory head unit. This just adds the sound quality and tuning options that are usually only available on aftermarket head units..

@@travisevans7502 if you get a full featured DSP, Yes. Something like the JL Twk, bit one, helix DSP, or even the budget friendly Dayton audio DSP.
@@ericperry72 I thought so I already have Hertz mille front components and 5x7 Hybrid Audio coaxial for the rear and JL hd 600/4 amp and 2 NVX 12 inch x series subs with NVX 1200.1 amp I have been debating getting a DSP just not sure which one also thinking about going active with my components but I have never done it before so I'm not sure.

So does that mean you cant run essentially an external 4CH amp for front and rear speakers and then a Mono for a sub with this ? Or did i get that wrong, From the way its explained it makes it sound like you can only use Fronts and A sub.
you input your factory front channel speaker level and it mirrors it to output front / rear then a dedicated sub channel.
Sadly it doesn’t support center channel

There is a difference, if u are using a factory HU. But with aftermarket HU, am not sure. This is a budget dsp from pioneer for the people who doesn't want to change the factory HU sue to obvious reasons.
@@Imjoe159 i recently bought this dsp n ive tune as am supposed to tune it makes a difference in the sound outout but am not able to save the setting as i plug out usb cable from my phone the setting of the dsp becomes normal again how to save it even thou if i plug out the celphone
@@speakerzedan103 there is an option to update/sync the settings. It's in the right top or bottom of the sound tune screen. Am not able to remember it. All the phone models won't support by the app to access the processor settings. Recently I changed my phone to Oppo realme and not able to access it.
