- We are visiting the Hill Station of Munnar to learn all about Tea! Join us to tour a tea plantation and tea production factory in Munnar Kerala India.
Munnar is a picturesque hill station located in the Western Ghats mountain range in the Indian state of Kerala. It's renowned for its lush tea plantations, mist-covered hills, and serene landscapes, making it a popular destination for nature lovers, honeymooners, and adventure seekers alike.
Here are some highlights and features of Munnar:
Tea Plantations: Munnar is famous for its vast tea estates that sprawl across the hillsides. The region's tea industry dates back to the late 19th century when the British established plantations here. Visitors can take guided tours of tea factories to learn about the tea-making process and sample different varieties of tea.
Eravikulam National Park: This national park is home to the endangered Nilgiri Tahr, a mountain goat species endemic to the Western Ghats. The park's rolling hills, grasslands, and shola forests also offer opportunities for trekking and wildlife spotting.
Anamudi Peak: Situated within Eravikulam National Park, Anamudi is the highest peak in South India, standing at an elevation of around 2,695 meters (8,842 feet). Trekking to the summit offers breathtaking views of the surrounding landscapes.
Mattupetty Dam: This concrete gravity dam is located near Munnar and is a popular picnic spot. The reservoir created by the dam offers boating opportunities amidst scenic surroundings.
Top Station: Located around 32 kilometers (20 miles) from Munnar, Top Station offers panoramic views of the Western Ghats and the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu. It's one of the highest points in Munnar and is known for its misty landscapes.
Echo Point: As the name suggests, Echo Point is known for its natural echo phenomenon. Located near the Mattupetty Dam, visitors can shout out into the valley and hear their voice echo back.
Kundala Lake: This artificial reservoir is another popular attraction in Munnar. Visitors can enjoy boating and pedal boating in the serene waters surrounded by lush greenery.
Flora and Fauna: Munnar is blessed with rich biodiversity, with a variety of flora and fauna endemic to the Western Ghats. Besides the Nilgiri Tahr, the region is also home to species like the lion-tailed macaque, Malabar giant squirrel, and various species of birds and butterflies.
Overall, Munnar's cool climate, stunning natural beauty, and numerous attractions make it a must-visit destination for travelers seeking a tranquil retreat amidst nature's splendor.

Love you to see you people in India..please avoid street food, avoid metropolitan cities if u don't like chaos. Find a good hotel/restaurant, countrysides are gem..stay safe❤
Thanks for following our journey along! And thank you for the suggestions.
I thought the temperatures would be much cooler and you guys would be in sweaters and jackets.
The kids are good sports to go along with every thing. They find ways to entertain themselves. The wealth of knowledge they are gaining will help them adapt well in life. And they probably not aware of how much they are learning. This is better than being stuck in a public school classroom in the US. I wish my parents had done this.
Thank you for the encouraging words! It has been wonderful to see how much they naturally learn in this lifestyle. :)
Nice place enjoy ❤🇵🇭
Thank you! 😃
When foreigners visit India, they often stick to the Golden Triangle. But for some truly beautiful spots, head to places like North Sikkim, Ladakh, Meghalaya, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Aru Valley, Pahalgam, Gulmarg, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Ajanta and Ellora Caves, Statue of Unity, Rani Ki Vav, and Lakshadweep. These are some of India's best-hidden treasures.
Ya hidden places where Gutka Cobra is there 😂

Thank you so much for sharing! We like to visit less known places, not just the typical tourist spots. :)
Thank you for the great suggestion!
You forgot Kerala, the best place in India
Your kids are really cute😍🥰
Thank you 🙏😊
The kids showed great patience, and were interested in most of the details. Quite a engrossing vlog.
Glad you enjoyed our vlog! We hope you will continue to follow along our journey :)
Yo thats a respect that you chose to pick a guide !! Overe there . I believe he explains you guys good how he can.
its his job , believe you guys were enjoyed.
Thank you for visiting and filming locations 😊
Great!! The cool weather is a respite from the hot beach weather especially for the kids. I know for Westerners they like the cool weather.
The temperature felt perfect and we had a nice breeze the entire time. Unfortunately, we underestimated the strength of the sun that day 😅
The first tea plant found in India was in Assam, Northeast. When the british found it they stopped importing tea from China
Very interesting, thank you for sharing
Munnar has an echo point spot, and a place that offers speedboat.
You guys missed that.
The kids would have loved it considering how much they enjoyed the speedboat ride from Alleppey.
Wonderla theme park in Kochi also would have been one of the best places the kids could enjoy.
Ah, speedboat! We would have checked it out if we knew. We considered Wonderla, but it didn't work out
Thanks for watching 🙏
Happy to see u enjoying my home state😊 hope the climate isnt to difficult for u all😅
We lived in Florida in the U.S. for a long time, so we are used to the heat and humidity. :) But some days are a little too hot during the middle of the day to be exploring.
❤ India
Because tea plantations are in the high range and cooler.
Love India ❤
You wouldn’t think that all that had to be done to make tea that was awesome to learn 😊
I had no Idea what was involved. We learned so much from the tour 👍 Thanks for watching 🙏
A great treat. I didn't know it was so labor intensive to make my tea leaves. I have new appreciation for the workers and all the work that goes into it. It should be more expensive when you consider the amount of labor involved.
We had the same thought when we got insight into the harvesting and manufacturing process! He did let us know that the teas we typically see in most grocery stores mostly use the stem (where the caffeine also comes from) and that they lack the same quality and benefits as the tea harvested and manufactured from the actual leaves. Very interesting
It is beautiful with all the green terraces everywhere and the little hills and valleys.
The guy is giving you a PhD in tea growing to help you start your own tea plantation.. 😅😅
There is a lot that goes into the process, it was great to learn as we had no idea previously how tea was harvested and manufactured. :) And the views were incredible! Thanks for watching!
0:58 Hi Baby river... How cute ?? 😅😀
😊 thanks for watching 🙏

You must visit Lakshadweep and Andaman and Nicobar Island 🏝️ of INDIA 🇮🇳
Thank you for the recommendation!
lovely, joyful family. I'm glad each of you are having a good time on the trip. Please make extra precautions for your safety when traveling in India. These days, gang rapes are on the rise and rampant, and even while the police are responding quickly, but these kinds of incidents are simply irreversible.
1) Please don't let your wife start conversations with men before you're comfortable that opposite person is safe. You should always lead the conversation first.
2) Always carry a sharp weapon and avoid going to deserted or dubious-looking locations. If you happen to find yourself somewhere where you don't see any local women around, get out of there right away.
3) When choosing a hotel for your stay, always choose well-known brands rather than small, unknown local properties. Many rapes and molestations occur under such hotels.
4) Have a local number on hand in case you need to call the police.
5) Please leave immediately if any family members get intuition that the place is not appropriate. Avoid accepting food or snacks or drink from locals in dubious situations as they might add something malicious to it and make you unconscious.
6) States like Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and Bihar should be avoided at all costs. Avoid going through those states altogether; You should absolutely not go there. if you must, take a flight or one of the slightly better trains, like the Vande Bharat. where possible one should enter and exit India through Mumbai or any South Indian airport. Avoid Delhi.
It is always safer to travel in groups if you have buddies with you if you like to visit remote locations. Please heed the advice of government in your country as most governments in Europe and the US have issued active cautions against traveling to India owing to safety concerns for women. Communicate and keep in touch with your country's embassy in India.
Although these precautions are severe, but it's better to be safe than sorry. Once upon a time, In India we lived in a wonderful civilization where we used to think that visitors are gods, but nowadays, rapes, molestation, scams, and harassment are routine and happen often. Because of the large population, cleaning everything will take some time. Till that time, be careful, cautious, and safe. Take care and return safely with happy memories.
❤❤❤

Best tea from India- darjeeling, sri Lanka ceylonese tea is good too.
Malaysia's tea is called BOH from Cameron highlands
Nice! We weren't aware that tea is so grown in Cameron Highlands. Thank you for sharing!
VISIT LULU MALL...................
We went to Lulu Mall, very nice place. You can briefly check our experience in our Kochi video from last week
Tea requires a lot of land at highlands. And only top fresh leaves are harvested (so it is wasteful)
Yes, we were amazed at the vast amounts of land used for tea plantations. It is a beautiful sight.
@@OurTinyAdventure unfortunately forested hilly areas need to be cleared for cultivating tea.
Must be the tea workers who litter near the tea plants. They should clean up the place after their meals.
It would be great if the tea plantations were kept free of litter. We did see a couple of large white bags along our route. I think those might be for the workers to discard of their trash.
Mackenzie is her sister.?
They both look like same.

Eucalyptus may be good for health but eucalyptus trees are not good for environment. These trees are not native to western ghats but planted by Britishers when they ruled us. Silver oak also invasive trees planted by Britishers which is not good for environment.
70% of the world tea is not produced in munnar. What he said or i think ment to say is. 70% of the tea produced in munnar is exported.
