i get the buff>nerf mentality but i kinda disagree with this overall just because of how type soul is as a game. as of late when things are broken or top tier it feels less like "oh this ___ is really hard to fight against, i need to try harder to win" and more "oh i missed one parry and dont get to play the game anymore!" i dont think buffing other things to that level will help, it'll just make the game feel more like whoever gets the first wins, that being said they do need to buff a lot of other stuff but the general strength of new weapons/abilities needs to be toned WAY down before anything else
mmm Im seeing where you coming from, i do believe that obv super op things need nerfs but like the acid nerf was an example of something unnecessary, acid was simply above average and instead of buffing other things to its level it got nerfed.
@@toomanystarsbmsits much easier to nerf the above avg ability then to buff like 20 other abilities tho, also that'd lead to constant powerrise since then acid would be the average=new slightly above avg ability releases and they buff everything to that level and so on
they need to fix stuff too, the amount of bugs in arena that just softlock you completely, arrancar murasama first crit pushing you away from them (for some odd reason) causing the follow up to miss, ranked just making people lose for no reason. There are just far too many bugs
The problem IS that devs just hold back nerfs, the powerlevel of stuff currently is fine and increasing it would make matches too short etc imo yes some stuff needs buffs but buffing everything to lets say snow level is not it.
dropped the game as soon as the first murasama nerf rolled out. the last straw for me was the painstaking grind of afk world/clan wars just to get something good, got two stream of reiatsus from clanwars, value dropped immediately, (because they made them drop from ranked, and made the drops unrealistically easy) gave them to a friend and quit
Lets be real here for a second, no buffing or nerfing in the world will save the game if the game stays as stall as it is, you play ranked and thats it, overworld isn't worth playing unless you spefically want cybernetic boxes and arena is just not worth the effort. Simply put, you will kill your game if you force your players into doing one thing and one thing only with every alternative being a waste of time in comparison.
Hard disagree As any game gets new content, the power level of anything in the game will inevitably go up. Builds right now will always be stronger than builds 4 months ago, and builds 4 months from now will be way stronger than builds that we have right now. The most important thing is keeping the 'feel-good' factor when playing the game; If the game doesn't feel good to play, it doesn't matter if things are comically broken or underpowered Any new content is a buff. That's how adding things work. If you consistently update your game, and add new things for players to use, you are indirectly buffing your players. This is what causes powercreep. The only way to combat this inevitable powercreep (other than like, not updating your game) is to consistently monitor the new content you add and keep it in line with the older, more 'balanced' content you've already established. Buffing old things to compete with the new things just adds more things to be frustrated about This isn't to say buffing things is a BAD thing; but the vast majority of changes to your game should almost always be nerfs. You should only buff things that have 1. been in the game for a while and 2. consistently do not see any play There will always be a meta strategy. Buffing or nerfing things to try and avoid creating a meta is completely pointless. The only important thing is that the meta strategy is fun to play and play against, and you can only do that by nerfing things to keep them in check. If you buff all your things to be 'above-average/strong', well, they're not actually above average, because you just raised the average by buffing everything else. tl;dr new content is the same as buffs. if you want to avoid powercreep you should be nerfing more than buffing, as the content you're adding is already buffing things.
I'ma be for real, buffs alone won't save type soul Bandaid fixes won't repair something that's fundamentally broken, the game is just boring because all you really can do is make a build and hop on clan wars or ranked. There's no real reason to go out of your way to make a decent build unless it's to ruin someone's day in ranked yk, in my humble opinion there should be more possible achievements other than "get high elo in ranked or KT". That's about it bruh, i don't got any good ideas to elaborate up on my argument but i think you got the point: ADD MORE STUFF TO DO OUTSIDE OF JUST MINDLESSLY FIGHTING PEOPLE IN SLIGHTLY DIFFERENT SCENARIOS
idk why mic was bugging at some parts mb

@@toomanystarsbmsMaybe they need to buff weak weapons or/and modes to make them at least noticeable and nerf some of the really broken moves.
Both these opinions are sadly correct.

All they need to do is put a leash on the devs that add fundamentally unbalanced shit (Josh)
this game is so hakuda infested I don't even play anymore genuinely tired of them hakuda rodents
