What was happening whenever the ult died out was one of two things
-The typical bounce target running out of bounce range before impact. However once baumi reached ~3k projectile speed, this became essentially impossible without some really tight timings. Especially since it can bounce thru invis and fog
-The far more common cause was bouncing to creeps on the far side of the bounce range of a target already at far range from a pillar. His bounce range was, flatly, too high. They could position near the wall of the base, causing the ult to bounce from spire to them to a jungle camp. Because they died to the bounce, the ult had nowhere to go after the jungle camp. Even at low bounce range this could be done by timing it with oncoming creeps waves. Realistically the only solution would be to block creep camps, and have intermediary pillars near the edges of the base to catch stray ults and give them a way back to the core loop at the center.

Since you are tight on space, perhaps consider turning one monitor vertical rather than horizontal. That's the way I have mine, and having the large vertical space is nice when reading.

If I had to guess, Max_hero_attacks is an old modifier that is no longer used by the ability. If I recall correctly (I may not), the spire originally only took two hero attacks to go down and could in fact only go down to hero attacks.
