    Hey - Great video! Love that you're helping photogs. One thing I thought might be helpful to add - Separating keywords is super important - 99.9% of the time you should use single words. For example, "crowd of people" should be "crowd" "people" - Same for "Business Finance and Industry" You have business separated out but not the other important tags. Same for "Japanese Culture" should be "japanese" and "culture" Reason for all this is most search engines do not separate out words in your tag - i.e. Someone searching "japanese" will get hits with the tag "japanese" not your combined tag - They'd have to type in "japanese culture" to find your picture. If you have both words separated, you will show up in searches for "japanese" "culture" & "japanese culture" more likely to be found by more clients. Not trying to sound annoying - not criticizing either - your videos are great! Just trying to help.

      Thanks for the suggestion! I believe that is the case on most stock sites, but I was talking specifically about iStock/Getty, which is totally different. Like I said, they use hierarchy, so when you add for example keyword "senior man", system automatically adds keywords "senior" and man", so the image will be searchable with those individual keywords, so no need to add those separate keywords. And also these options that you talked about. I was curious and I tried this, because I was sceptical too, and it works :)
      Also, on iStock, you actually cant add "Crowd" keyword alone, because you have to disambiguate it, so you have to select one of the options the system suggests.
      But yeah, on other stock sites, it is different, and I believe adding single words helps.

    super useful videos about getting into stock photography - I am finally inspired and for that I thank you :) one thing I was wondering about is the image with a bunch of people in Tokyo...do you need to release them all or is it not required as the faces are blurred? hvala mnogo i pozdrav iz Beograda :)

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't need MRs for all the people there because they are blurred and also, if there is a crowd of people, even if they are recognizable, and none of them stands out, you are ok without MRs.

    Thank you for sharing this helpful information about keywording. To me as well english is my second language. You did only a video about istock. How about Adobe Stock? Do you have any video of how to keywording Ai images? And Other online keywording tools suggestions? You have a new subscriber to your channel. 👍😊

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I am glad you like it! Well, I am only selling my photos on istock, so I am not sure about other platforms, but it is quite similar. Although here on iStock, you have to disambiguate all your keywords, because they are then translated in all other languages, but on others, you just enter what you think are the most important keywords. We are currently in the process of launching a keywording service, so let me know if you are interested, and I will let you know when it goes live. I know keywording can suck, and it was the first thing that I outsourced :)

    • @LukaAzman

      No, on iStock and Getty it is not important. I know on some other sites, it was important, but I am not sure if it is still the same.

    do you know how to add keywords under Lightroom and then when you export it to the stock sites they would be auto populated?

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, in Library module, you have an option to add keywords to your images on the right side. And when you export the images from there, those keywords will save to iptc data on the image, so on most of the sites they will auto populate.

  • @commercialand

    Should I put in my paragraph or discription as I export out of final cut? There is a description box there, but I'm not certain if I put there, OR do I wait till I'm in Shutterstock to add my discription?
    ...and is description the same as "keywords", it kind of sounds the same compared to what "Handcraft Films" mentions.

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I am not sure if shutterstock or any other site will read description from final cut. You can try, but I think you will have to add that on SS.

    Luka, do you think there is an advantage to use keywords in another language besides English? i.e. Spanish

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Actually it doesn’t matter. Because if you use english keywords, all those KWs will be translated to all supported languages. At least on iStock. So if someone searches in Spanish, it will find those images. Also, if you keyword in Spanish, the KWs will be translated. But you have to select in ESP which language you are using.

  • @kevinjack5184
    @kevinjack5184 ปีที่แล้ว

    What happens on iStock when you submit keywords that are in red?

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  ปีที่แล้ว

      If I am correct, they also go to istock, and they are searchable, but those are not in istock vocabulary, and that means that those keywords won’t be translated to other languages.

      You can apply to be an exclusive contributor at any time. They will check your portfolio and approve or reject your application. I would suggest having at least 200 or 300 photos of different topics before applying. But if they reject you, you can always apply later. It is somewhere in ESP, under "account management" section.

    Why my photo isn't sell

    • @praewphanolij5007
      @praewphanolij5007 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Most two reasons Pictures not sell are the buyer don't see your picture =keyword and the buyer don't like your picture = quality and concept of the pictures.

    • @LukaAzman
      @LukaAzman  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree! Or sometimes it can happen that image just gets lost among all those millions of images that are uploaded, even if it is good and has good keywords.
