    Seeing the trends toward foldables, I'd decided to make the Razr 5G my daily. Picked one up on Mercari, unlocked and like new for $550 with a 2 year accidental warranty👍The icing on the cake and what I do with all my older tech is sell it online to offset my purchases. After selling my S8 Active, the Razr all in under $400! At that price point, well "Hello Moto" 😊

      Be careful with it. It's extremely fragile. I dropped mine for the first time from waist height last week. It was folded and had the Motorola case on it. It hit the ground, the case popped off and the front screen completely shattered. I've always had Samsung phones prior to this and you could throw those against the wall and it wouldn't leave a mark on them. If the screen cracks, no one can fix this phone. I ended up having to pay off what I owed on it and get a new phone.

    Overall from my use of the phone I agree with this video .
    Things to note also - 5G is known to be power hungry on other 5G phones so I would recommend you stick to 4G most areas in the UK don't have 5G so there isn't any point leaving the option on. I currently get through a day off a charge with about 30% so daily charging is required. Weight is nice when the phone is closed it is nice in the pocket.
    Glass back is a downside to this phone I prefer the plastic off the razer 2019 .
    One handed opening is awkward and I rather not do a flick to open it as I feel the glass will crack eventually on a heavy flick .
    Screen
    Resolution is bad on dark videos you will start to see pixels on the screen . The creases youll notice visually when the phone is off but not when it's on . You so feel the crease although not as much as the galaxy fold. Don't let the plastic screen put you off it doesn't feel bad like I thought it would .
    Design wise RAZR is better than the Samsung . The Samsung resembles a compact mirror due it still trying to keep the standard slab look although power wise Samsung phone is stronger .
    Camera is very good front camera I have never used so no comment there
    Software - the keyboard annoys me quite a bit with big hands I press the wrong key.
    Front screen- is pretty good however I have only seen myself use it for TH-cam video and Spotify controls .
    The bottom speaker is bad. I had come from the razer phone which had dual speakers and great sound so the speakers Is a massive downgrade . You may muffle the sound with your hand watching videos with the phone open.
    Final point I'm more concerned about getting it wet than damaging the plastic screen 😂
    Hope this help potential buyers of what to expect

    Design is 9999/10. The problem it’s a mid range Motorola android phone they’re trying to sell for like $1,500. The camera (and lack thereof), screen, internal storage, internal meat are just that of a mid range 2016/2017 phone.
    They should make it out of the same aluminum the original one came in - provides for nostalgic design and cheaper material while not skimping on quality.
    I’d also like to see a chrome bezel around the internal front like the iPhone 2G. If we’re gonna see a big yucky bezel, why not make it look nice?

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M

      @Tessoro Desoto 256GB on a $1,500 phone is a JOKE.
      Same goes for the Z Fold 2 only having a 256GB option in the U.S. while China has a 512GB option.
      P.s. A 1TB iPhone is coming in 2021.

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M
      @PSYCHOV3N0M 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I recommend you switch to Android for the freedom it provides.
      However, I've noticed that my Samsung phone has more software features than my friend's Razr 5G.
      Make sure you do thorough research on the "skin" that Motorola uses on top of Android.
      Different Android manufacturers either use their own skin on top of Android OR they use stock Android. Samsung phones have the most software features compared to other Android phones thanks to their ONE UI skin.

    • @cashier6

    • @christopherzube551
      @christopherzube551 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Going from an iphone to a motorola will be much easier than you may think. Even after google sold motorola to lenovo their android skin is pretty close to google than any other manufacturer and so is oneplus. It's not as tedious in the old days like froyo and gingerbread. I am not much of a fan of Samsung's software even after the one ui but that is just my preference. If you are with a carrier and really are thinking about it then try it. Most carriers give you a 14 day period to keep it or take it back. You may have a restock fee but you can still take it back and get another iphone if you wish. Their are many videos on youtube with the differences and customizations and pros and cons from switching from one to the other. It is definitely worth researching before deciding.

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M
      @PSYCHOV3N0M 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@christopherzube551 I'll never understand how someone can dislike having MORE features.
      You do realize that Android 10 for Samsung users is what Android 11 is to everyone else right? Samsung thinks ahead with features and implements them at least one year in advance.

    The reason I'm wanting to upgrade my flip (Kyocera basic) is get a 'Smart flip'.
    I use/like a flip when mobile. I don't want a phone that sticks out of my back pocket or in a case on my belt or carrying in my hand all the time.
    When I get back to wherever after a day of moving around I have a laptop/tablet/desktop which is still better then trying to do REAL things on a phone.
    Looking at bothe the Samsung Z Flip and the Razr 5G I'll take the Moto. Expensive yes but happy indeed. Now the wife. :)

However no burn in issues, no creaking, and the spring when opening and closing feels better. What's nice is I don't have to clean the screen that much since it closes unlike a regular smartphone. Battery lasts me a full day with about 30% left when I get home. This is from calls, texts, web browsing, and TH-cam on my breaks at work. Still happy with mine.

Motorola has the best peek display than any other smartphone. It still opens and closes like when I bought it brand new. If you get a good deal then I'd say go for it. You find with gimmicky phones like this that it will never be a value choice. Motorola knows there are only so many people that will buy a compromised device like this, so they, and Samsung, will charge very high premiums, otherwise, they have little hope of getting their R&D back.
    According to many YT creators folding phones are the future, but I find it underwhelming. I think a candy bar design is the perfection of form and function and no one has convinced me this will ever go mainstream. We shall see sales in 2021 whether folding tech will take off, as at that point most people that want this form-factor will already have spent loads of money on earlier generations and are less likely to continue for incremental upgrades. We see from secondhand prices that they lose money like it is going out of fashion. On eBay, you can get £800 off the Z-Fold 2 brand new and it has only been on sale a few months. The original Galaxy Fold can now be had for under £500 secondhand, £1400 loss in around a year! And let us be honest who will buy one of these secondhand?

    • @RealWorldReview
      @RealWorldReview  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Until they make a Note20 Ultra folding phone, there is no perfect folding phone. I wish the fold 2 had bigger camera sensors and bigger screens, but they chose not to do this. No one does it perfectly, yet

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RealWorldReview Of course, the form still has a way to go. What is a bigger obstacle is, just as Samsung and Motorola start charging almost ridiculous prices of $2000, the market goes the other way! With flagship sales falling drastically and mid-range the new normal. Apple and Samsung saw this coming, and both have addressed that, but it really makes folding phones almost comically too expensive to be taken serious apart from those with high disposable incomes and money to throw away.

    • @PSYCHOV3N0M

      1. You lack VISION. Foldables and Rollables are the future. They literally have a purpose.
      2. You'd be surprised how many people are willing to buy a used or refurbished 1st gen Galaxy Fold for $1,100 or less.
      3. Your mistake is assuming that the Z Fold 2 is aimed at average consumers like you. It's aimed at tech enthusiasts. The $2,000 price reflects that. 😂😂😂

    • @andyH_England
      @andyH_England 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@PSYCHOV3N0M I hope they have a "purpose" but to date, I cannot work out what that is? Android is simply not good enough ATM to be your default productivity device for the market the Fold is aimed at (pro users). As a secondary device, if you can afford the luxury, it is great for that extra real estate, but I would never take it to replace my laptop or tablet as it is simply too constrained. $2000 new buys a good productivity workflow that would make the Fold 2 look unprofessional and unproductive. Time will tell and I hope that we get something more worthy of foldable's than the Fold 2 is currently.

    • @christopherzube551
      @christopherzube551 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I do understand your point, and these are obviously not meant for people who are regular users. These are phones that are meant for people who love technology and want to see what they can do for our future. For us tech people we like change. A folding display that can turn a regular smartphone and flip to make more room in our pockets make us feel like it's worth it. It's just like vehicles. If you keep making a vehicle over and over with the same stuff people lose interest in buying a newer version. They don't see a need to because all their paying for is a title that says 2020 and nothing else changes. Or an iphone that gets new features every couple years. " It simply just works" does not work for every single person because they want a new feature, or 2, or 3. If you make candy bar phones over and over and theirs not much change to it then what would be the point of upgrading when your better off just keeping what you have for 5 years? Sure these phone will lose their value in short time, but the feeling of something different in your hand, with different features and functions and design after you unwrap the device that you can smell came from a factory brand new made from the Chinese small hands is priceless. Sure it may lose value, but so does a brand new vehicle that you picked out with features you requested and paying out of your pocket and losing 10,000 bucks just from driving off the lot. Not bashing but just trying to explain why some of us may feel that it is worth it.
